Method for the production of hollow chamber valves
Disclosed is a method for the production of a valve body of a hollow chamber valve, said method comprising: providing a bowl-shaped semi-finished product having an annular wall, which surrounds a hollow chamber, and a bottom portion, followed by a lengthening of the wall and a final reducing of an outer diameter of the annular wall in order to obtain a predetermined valve shaft outside diameter of a valve that is to be produced. Further disclosed is a hollow chamber valve produced by means of said method.
Hollow poppet valve
With a poppet valve using a coolant, maximum combustion efficiency is realized by adjusting relative values of a heat insulation effect and a heat dissipation effect. From the inside of a head portion (14) to a stem portion (12) of a hollow poppet valve (10) a heat insulating space (S1) and a cooling portion (S2) loaded with a coolant (19), separated from each other by a partition (15), are formed. By properly setting an installation position and a vertical length of the partition (15) according to a type of vehicle for which the valve is used, appropriate heat insulation effect and heat dissipation effect are obtained. Further, by the partition (15), mechanical or thermal strength of the poppet valve in which the heat insulating space (S1) and the cooling portion (S2) are formed is increased.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING A WELDED CAVITY VALVE
A method for producing a cavity valve is provided. The method includes providing a valve body which has a cavity in the interior. The valve body has a circular opening having an opening edge surface on a bottom side. A circular valve cover with a cover edge surface is provided. Inductive heating of at least one of the opening edge surface or the cover edge surface takes place and then welding the valve body to the valve cover by friction welding of the opening edge surface to the cover edge surface.
METHOD FOR SUPPLYING INERT GAS INTO POPPET VALVE INTERMEDIATE AND APPARATUS FOR SUPPLYING INERT GAS INTO POPPET VALVE INTERMEDIATE
A method for supplying inert gas into a poppet valve intermediate and an apparatus for supplying inert gas are provided that are capable of properly filling the inert gas without waste into the poppet valve intermediate of any size. After a negative pressure is achieved by suction in an internal space (Win) of a poppet valve intermediate (W) as compared to an ambient pressure (Pa) of the poppet valve intermediate (W), the inert gas is supplied into the internal space (Win) until a pressure (P) of the internal space (Win) reaches the ambient pressure (Ps) of the poppet valve intermediate (W).

HOLLOW ENGINE VALVE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR
The present invention provides a hollow engine valve achieving high durability while suppressing an increase in manufacturing cost, and a manufacturing method therefor. A manufacturing method for a hollow engine valve comprises: a step of forming, by forging, a solid round bar as a material of a valve main body into a valve main body intermediate member provided with a semifinished product valve head portion corresponding to a valve head portion and a solid stem portion corresponding to a valve stem portion; a step of performing cutting process with respect to the valve main body intermediate member across the solid stem portion and the semifinished product valve head portion for forming a semifinished product hollow hole with a bottom corresponding to a hollow hole, thereby forming the valve main body intermediate member into a valve main body semifinished product provided with the semifinished product valve head portion and a semifinished product valve stem portion; and a step of performing necking process with respect to the valve main body semifinished product for squeezing the semifinished product valve stem portion step by step, thereby reducing the diameter of the semifinished product valve stem portion and increasing the length of the stem of the semifinished product valve stem portion, to form the valve main body semifinished product into the valve main body.

Method of charging a hollow valve with metallic sodium
A method of charging a hollow valve with metallic sodium includes providing a workpiece, as a semi-finished product for a hollow poppet valve, in which a cavity has an upward opening at a free end of a valve stem at a working position; inserting a nozzle into the opening to feed an initial inert gas into the cavity by jetting the inert gas from the nozzle; moving up the nozzle to put a holder between the workpiece and the nozzle, the holder holding a rod-like metallic sodium; and inserting the nozzle into a first end of the holder while an additional inert gas is jetted into the cavity from the nozzle to push down the rod-like metallic sodium along with the inert gas from a second end of the holder into the cavity of the workpiece.
