SCORE ACTIVATED CORNHOLE LIGHT INSERT
20220032157 · 2022-02-03 ·

The score activated cornhole light insert is a lighting accessory that can be built into an originally manufactured cornhole board, or retrofitted into existing cornhole boards. The scoring hole with the insert in place will maintain the regulation six-inch inner diameter. The insert has adjustable mounting brackets to position the top of the insert flush with the cornhole board to prevent interference with game play or cornhole rule and regulations. The insert detects when a media filled bag has passed through the scoring hole, triggering a distinctive light pattern. In addition, the insert will indicate the battery level with a series of different blinking speeds during the first few moments of operation. The insert is watertight and designed to prevent false positives when a media filled bag lies partly on the cornhole board and partly over the scoring hole by lowering an infrared break beam below the board top surface.

GAME PLAYING APPARATUS

Embodiments of the invention as described herein relate to a game with one or more vertical hoops on a pole. The apparatus is typically setup in the center of the playing area, and may involve two teams, or two players whose goal is to through objects such as balls through the hoop or hoops to win. Sensors placed in close proximity to the hoop or hoops display the score on a scoreboard.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR AUTOMATICALLY RECOGNIZING SPORT COURT AND DETERMINING IN/OUT ON BASIS OF SAME
20220270367 · 2022-08-25 ·

A method for automatically recognizing a sport court according to the present invention includes: a step for acquiring an original image of the sport court as captured by a camera; a step for converting the acquired original image and generating a binarized image; a step for detecting lines forming the court from the binarized image; a step for adding virtual extension lines to the detected lines to compensate for missing lines, to thereby generate preliminary court lines; a step for comparing a pre-stored regulation size sport court template and the preliminary court lines; a step for correcting the preliminary court lines according to the comparison result; a step for labeling the corrected court lines; and a step for generating sport court information including labeling information.

Information-presentation structure with impact-sensitive color change to different colors dependent on location in variable-color region of single normal color
09764216 · 2017-09-19 ·

A variable-color region (106) of an information-presentation structure extends to an exposed surface (102) at a surface zone (112) and normally appears along it as a principal color. An impact-dependent portion (138) of the variable-color region responds to an object (104) impacting the zone at an object-contact area (116) by providing an impact signal if the impact meets threshold impact criteria. The impact signal identifies an expected location of a print area (118) in the zone. The print area meets one of plural different print-area location criteria respectively corresponding to plural changed colors materially different from the principal color. Responsive to the impact signal, a controller (702) determines which location criterion is met by the print area and provides an initiation signal at a corresponding condition. The impact-dependent portion responds to the initiation signal by temporarily appearing along the print area as the changed color for that location criterion.

ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE MASK-LAME CONNECTOR FOR SPORT FENCING
20170259154 · 2017-09-14 ·

Electrically conductive apparatus obviates the need for a traditional fencing “Mask Cord” while still permitting a satisfactorily resilient connection between a conventional electric fencing Mask and a target vest/jacket (“Lame”), and offers many advantages including “effortless” connectivity and positioning—in a preferred embodiment, situated between a conventional fencing Mask Bib and Lame—whereby enhanced safety is achieved during play by making the Mask even harder to tip upwards, thereby reducing the chances for injury due to neck exposure.

Laser football down marker system and method

A football down marker system, including a first pole bearing a first laser, a first multilayer reflector, a first level and a first processor. The system also includes a second pole bearing a second laser, a second multilayer reflector, a second level and a second processor, wherein the first laser is complementary to the second multilayer reflector and the second laser is complementary to the first multilayer reflector, and wherein each processor calculates an average distance between a respective laser and its complementary multilayer reflector, and wherein each processor calculates a difference between a laser incidence on a first layer versus incidence on a second layer of the multilayer reflectors to determine a line of sight by a coincidence of the incidence.

Methods and apparatus for emulating live performance routine competition conditions without live competition staging

Methods and apparatus for staging emulated live performance routine competitions. Various emulation methods and apparatus may allow for live conditions to be emulated even in the absence of actual staged live competition. Live performance routines may be recorded and stored as live performance routine data. Competition judging may be input and stored as competition judging input data. Data transformation processors may transform such data into live performance routine competition conditions emulated data that may emulate live performance routine competition conditions. Data may be aggregated into an emulated live performance routine competition for remote spectator access.

Enhanced infrared hockey puck and goal detection system
11395953 · 2022-07-26 · ·

Methods, systems, and techniques for automatically detecting and tracking hockey goal events during hockey play are provided. Example embodiments provide an Automated Hockey Goal Detection System or goal detection system, which enables goal events during hockey play to be automatically and immediately detected and notifications generated therefor and for automatically tracking and communicating attributes of such events such as puck speed and location. Automated event information may be automatically recorded and/or communicated to other devices, such as a remote computing device, to analyze player or game effectiveness. An example goal detection system utilizes an infrared transmitting hockey puck and an infrared sensing goal frame with one or more sets of multiple infrared sensors arranged around the perimeter of the goal frame. The goal frame may include a control unit that determines the location and speed of the puck within the goal frame by evaluation of the active sensors.
