Internal combustion engine lubricated with a water-containing lubricant

An internal combustion engine includes an internal combustion engine interior and a lubricant disposed in the internal combustion engine interior. The lubricant lubricates a component disposed in the internal combustion engine interior and the lubricant is a water-containing lubricant. In an embodiment, the internal combustion engine interior is fluidically connected to an environment surrounding the internal combustion engine by a ventilation device where the ventilation device has a semipermeable membrane which is impermeable to water and water vapor.

Unit and switching film for regulation and control of a fluid pressure

A unit for the regulation for control of a fluid pressure, having at least one housing section and a switching film connected to the at least one housing section. A chemically inert, non-rubber-like PTFEswitching film switching film is disposed in the valve housing and switches at pressure differences of 1 mbar to 250 mbar for regulating, opening or blocking a flow of a fluid from the inlet to the outlet. The switching film is formed of a fluorine and carbon containing polymer material. The switching film has a plate-shaped flat body with a bending region and has a central closure region surrounded by the bending region. The bending region, when switching the switching film, moves the central closure region relative to a valve seat of the valve housing in an axial direction of the plate-shaped flat body toward or away from the valve seat by a stretch free or low-stretch bending movement.

Air-oil separator drain valve and related method of use

A drain valve of an air-oil separator configured to separate oil aerosol from blow-by gas of an internal combustion engine is provided. The drain valve includes a floating plate adapted to close or open depending on oil flow and pressure relative to a drainpipe, and a plug that maintains the floating plate in the drainpipe and provides a flow path for oil in the drainpipe. The plug can serve a secondary function and form part of a seal recess that receives an annular seal member, such as an o-ring, to form a liquid tight seal around the drainpipe when coupled to another engine component to allow transfer of oil through the drainpipe. A related method of use is provided.

Oil and gas separation device for internal combustion engine

An oil and gas separation device for an internal combustion engine includes a first chamber, a second chamber, and a third chamber provided successively from bottom to top, wherein the first chamber is connected to the second chamber through a first gas channel. The second chamber is connected to the third chamber through a second gas channel. The third chamber is connected to a gas outlet pipe. A bottom of the first chamber is connected to an internal combustion engine body. A lower oil baffle plate is provided between the bottom of the first chamber and the internal combustion engine body. The first gas channel is longitudinally covered by the lower oil baffle plate. The oil and gas separation effect and speed can be improved by employing the oil and gas separation device for the internal combustion engine of the present disclosure.

Internal combustion engine with crankcase ventilation

An internal combustion engine having a crankcase with a base and an oil tank, wherein a first connection between the crankcase and the oil tank is formed with a first valve, which is open in the direction from the crankcase to the oil tank and closed in the opposite direction, and a second connection between the crankcase and the oil tank is formed with a second valve, which is open in the direction from the oil tank to the crankcase and is closed in the opposite direction. The first valve is arranged on the base of the crankcase and the second valve is arranged above the first valve.

Oil-separating device

An oil separation device includes an oil separator in a housing between a gas inlet and an outlet. An opening is formed at the longitudinal end of a gas-conducting channel connected to the gas inlet the end facing away from the gas inlet, and a throttle aperture movably mounted in the longitudinal direction of the gas conducting channel. The gas conducting channel and an outlet channel form an annular gap through which crankcase ventilation gases flow via a nozzle gap, and the housing has an additional opening to which a reference pressure can be applied on the throttle aperture side facing away from the gas conducting channel. The throttle aperture extends radially beyond the annular gap and has a seal region molded onto the edge that is sealingly arranged in a recess formed in the housing such that the throttle aperture fluidically separates the additional opening from the gas inlet.

Crankcase Ventilation Valve, Crankcase Ventilation Filter and Crankcase

A crankcase ventilation valve comprises a membrane element with a metal support washer and a conical spring, the end face of which acts on the support washer.

ACTUATOR FOR USE IN A SEPARATOR

An actuator for a separator for separating contaminants from a fluid stream which includes entrained contaminants. The actuator is arranged to move along an actuator axis to adjust an open cross-sectional area of at least one aperture of the separator, and comprises a flexible diaphragm, and a support assembly for the flexible diaphragm. The support assembly is movable along the actuator axis carrying the flexible diaphragm and has an upper support member mounted on a lower support member. A portion of the flexible diaphragm is located between the upper and lower support members. The lower support member comprises an axially extending support portion coupled to a radially extending support portion. The upper support member comprises a diaphragm anti-inversion feature coupled to a radially extending support portion. The diaphragm anti-inversion feature extends such that it axially overlaps at least part of the axially extending support portion of the lower support member.

JET PUMP DIFFUSER FOR A SEPARATOR

A diffuser for a jet pump of a separator comprises an inlet defining a first flow area; an outlet in fluid communication with the inlet through which fluid exits the diffuser, in which a flow path extends from the inlet to the outlet, and in which the outlet defines a second flow area greater than the first flow area so that a velocity of fluid flowing through the inlet is greater than a velocity of fluid flowing through the outlet; and a communication port extending through a wall of the diffuser with an inlet in communication with an interior of the diffuser and an outlet in communication with an exterior of the diffuser, in which the communication port inlet is between the diffuser inlet and the diffuser outlet, so that contaminants separated from the fluid stream are removed through the communication port.
