A mixing section outlet area (22) is positioned upstream in relation to a catalytic converter device (16). The mixing section (14) includes an inner wall (26) surrounding an inner volume (28), through which exhaust gas (A) or/and reactant (R) can flow, and an outer wall (24) surrounding the inner wall (26). An outer volume (30) surrounds the inner volume (28) in a ring-shape, formed between the inner wall and the outer wall (24). An electrically energizable heating device (34) is provided at the inner wall (26), or/and a heat transfer rib formation (54) is provided at the inner wall (26).
CATALYST DEVICE
A catalyst device includes a catalyst support, a tubular portion, which accommodates the catalyst support, a holding mat, which holds the catalyst support, an insulator provided over the outer circumferential surface of the tubular portion, and a heat insulating member arranged between the insulator and the tubular portion. The region of the outer circumferential surface of the tubular portion between the upstream end and the downstream end in the exhaust gas flowing direction is divided into two subregions arranged in a direction of the axis of the tubular portion. Of the two subregions, the subregion on the upstream side is defined as an upstream subregion, and the subregion on the downstream side is defined as a downstream subregion. The area that is covered with the heat insulating member in the downstream subregion is smaller than the area that is covered with the heat insulating member in the upstream subregion.
HEAT SHIELD WITH INSULATED DOSER AND SENSOR MOUNT AREAS FOR A VEHICLE EXHAUST COMPONENT
An exhaust component assembly includes a housing having at least one mount area configured to be attached to another exhaust component. A primary heat shield is attached to the housing and includes at least one open area at the mount area. A secondary heat shield positioned adjacent to the primary heat shield to at least partially cover the mount area. A method of assembling the primary and secondary heat shields to the housing of the exhaust component assembly is also disclosed.
INSULATED COMPOSITE HEAT SHIELD FOR VEHICLE EXHAUST SYSTEM
An exhaust component assembly includes a heat shield formed from a composite material and a mounting structure that attaches the heat shield to an outer housing of an exhaust component. The mounting structure comprises an insulator located between an outer surface of the outer housing an inner surface of the heat shield. A method of assembling the composite heat shield to the outer housing of the exhaust component assembly is also disclosed.
EXHAUST DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
An exhaust muffler includes a first muffler section having a tubular member made up of an inner pipe to which an exhaust pipe is connected and an outer pipe covering the inner pipe, and a connector connecting the tubular member and a second muffler section to each other, and the second muffler section having an outer shell, a first partition wall, a second partition wall, and a third partition wall. Exhaust gases delivered from the exhaust pipe are discharged from the first muffler section and the second muffler section out of the exhaust muffler. The second muffler section has a cross-sectional area larger than a cross-sectional area of the tubular member. The exhaust muffler includes a first expansion chamber, a second expansion chamber, and a third expansion chamber. The second muffler section includes a fluid communication pipe extending through the first partition wall and the second partition wall for leading exhaust gases from the first expansion chamber into the second expansion chamber, and an exhaust passage pipe held in fluid communication with the third expansion chamber and extending through the second partition and the third partition wall. The second partition wall has a fluid communication hole defined therein that provides fluid communication between the second expansion chamber and the third expansion chamber. There is thus provided an engine exhaust device capable of increasing a silencing capability by increasing the length of a route through which the exhaust gases flow while maintaining the length of the exhaust device.
Water drainage assemblies for aftertreatment systems
A water drainage assembly for an aftertreatment system includes: a tube having an inlet structured to be coupled to an outlet conduit of an aftertreatment system; a drain port extending through the tube; a first baffle disposed in the tube, a first baffle first end attached to an inner surface of the tube at a first location, wherein at least a portion of the first baffle is inclined downwards with respect to gravity; and a second baffle disposed in the tube below the first baffle, a second baffle first end being coupled to the inner surface of the tube at a second location that is opposite to and below the first location, wherein at least a portion of the second baffle is inclined upwards with respect to gravity.
Exhaust system for a work vehicle
An exhaust system with a multipiece heat shield for a work vehicle includes a first shield part and a second shield part. The first shield part surrounds an aftertreatment unit for aftertreating exhaust gases. The first shield part extends in an axial direction. The second shield part surrounds an exhaust tailpipe with radial spacing between the second shield part and the exhaust tailpipe. The second shield extends in the axial direction from the first shield part, wherein a radial gap between the first and second shield parts is sealed by a seal. In a starting position, the seal has two free ends arranged in the circumferential direction of the heat shield, which are arranged adjoining or overlapping one another in the circumferential direction when the seal is in a sealing position.
