Apparatuses for cooling exhaust components of marine engines
An elongated exhaust conduit comprises a first end receiving hot exhaust gas from a marine engine and a second end discharging the exhaust gas. An elongated cooling water jacket extends adjacent to the exhaust conduit. The cooling water jacket conveys the raw cooling water adjacent to the exhaust conduit to thereby cool the exhaust conduit and warm the raw cooling water therein and discharges the warmed cooling water to cool the marine engine. The cooling water jacket comprises first and second channels that are separate from each other. The cooling water is oriented in a helical flow around the exhaust conduit.
Water drainage assemblies for aftertreatment systems
A water drainage assembly for an aftertreatment system includes: a first tube configured to be coupled to an outlet conduit of the aftertreatment system; a second tube having a first end coupled to an outer surface of the first tube, a second end opposite the first end, and an intermediate portion located between the first end and the second end; and a baffle plate located in the second tube. The intermediate portion of the second tube surrounds an end portion of the first tube such that a volume is defined between the end portion of the first tube and the intermediate portion of the second tube. The second tube comprises a drain port configured to allow water to drain from the volume defined between the end portion of the first tube and the intermediate portion of the second tube.
Mixing arrangement for an exhaust-gas system of an internal combustion engine
A mixing arrangement for an exhaust-gas system of an internal combustion engine for mixing exhaust gas and reactant includes an exhaust-gas guiding component which delimits an exhaust-gas flow volume and which extends in the direction of a longitudinal axis, a reactant dispensing unit for dispensing reactant into the exhaust-gas flow volume, downstream of the reactant dispensing unit an exhaust-gas flow volume dividing arrangement, the exhaust-gas flow volume dividing arrangement dividing the exhaust-gas flow volume in a dividing length region into a plurality of partial exhaust-gas flow volumes, the plurality of partial exhaust-gas flow volumes including a central partial exhaust-gas flow volume and at least one partial exhaust-gas flow volume which surrounds the central partial exhaust-gas flow volume in a ring-like manner.
Vehicle exhaust systems
A heat shield arrangement (14) for shielding the environment surrounding the junction between two sections (10, 13) of insulated vehicle exhaust from heat emanating from uninsulated end portions of the junction of the exhaust sections. The heat shield (14) is of tubular form and mounted on the insulation surrounding one section (10) of the exhaust and is slidingly movable between a first position (14) in which the junction between the two sections is exposed to allow access to work on fastening means (15) for holding the two sections together and a second position (14) in which the shield surrounds the junction and overlaps the ends of the insulation on both sections of the exhaust to insulate the surrounding environment.
Exhaust device
An exhaust device includes a catalyst unit, a connection pipe connected to a downstream side of the catalyst unit, an exhaust gas sensor that detects a state of exhaust gas flowing inside the connection pipe, and an outer cylinder that covers an outer periphery of the connection pipe. An upstream end portion of the connection pipe is press-fitted into an outlet of the catalyst unit. The connection pipe is fixed to a first baffle plate around the connection pipe at a position downstream of the upstream end portion. A first opening having an opening diameter larger than an outer diameter of the exhaust gas sensor is formed on a peripheral surface of the connection pipe, and the exhaust gas sensor is fixed to the outer cylinder in a state where a detection portion is inserted into an inside of the connection pipe through the first opening.
Catalytic converter
A catalytic converter includes at least one heating element that is configured to disrupt the direction of flow of exhaust gases which contain harmful toxic gases and pollutants and aid in removing and/or reducing said toxic gases and pollutants.
