The mixer includes an outer housing that is configured to direct a mixture of the reducing agent and the engine exhaust gases into the second exhaust component. The mixer also includes at least one insulation feature that is configured to reduce heat lost at the outer housing.
Exhaust manifold for an exhaust system of a combustion engine
An exhaust manifold for an exhaust system of a combustion engine includes an outer shell, an inner shell arranged in the outlet shell, and an inlet flange which is configured for attachment to a cylinder head of the combustion engine and has a receptacle. The inner shell is floatingly supported in the outer shell and has an inlet-flange-side edge which is formed with an outwardly bent flange positioned in the receptacle of the inlet flange. The outer shell has an inlet-flange-side edge which has at least one area which rests in the receptacle upon the outwardly bent flange and is joined with the receptacle.
Catalytic converter
A catalytic converter comprises: a catalyst carrier that purifies exhaust gases from an internal combustion engine; and a catalyst housing tube that houses the catalyst carrier. The catalyst housing tube comprises: an inlet-side conical part that comprises an exhaust-gas inlet, an inner diameter of the inlet-side conical part increasing as a distance from the exhaust-gas inlet increases; a tube part that comprises the catalyst carrier arranged therein; and, an outlet-side conical part that comprises an exhaust-gas outlet, an inner diameter of the outlet-side conical part increasing as a distance from the exhaust-gas outlet increases. A conical inner tube is further provided inside the inlet-side conical part, a diameter of the conical inner tube being smaller than that of the inlet-side conical part, and, the inlet-side conical part and the conical inner tube form a double structure upstream of the catalyst carrier.
Collector for manifold pipes
A collector for several manifold pipes of a motor vehicle carrying exhaust gas, including a first shell and a second shell, which can be connected to one another in a sealed manner by a shell connection that forms a connection plane (E), at least one outlet port for connecting to an exhaust pipe of an exhaust gas system, and several manifold pipe connection ports for connecting the manifold pipes, wherein the outlet port is designed as a rim hole within the respective shell and at least one first manifold pipe connection port is provided, which is designed as a rim hole within only one of the two shells.
Exhaust device of multi-cylinder engine
An exhaust device of a multi-cylinder engine which controls local introduction of exhaust gas to a catalyst device and a variation between cylinders of introduction positions of the exhaust gas to the catalyst device is provided. The exhaust device is arranged so that the cylinders extend in a vehicle width direction at a vehicle front part, and an exhaust line is arranged so as to extend rearward from a rear of the engine, wherein, in sequence from an upstream side of an exhaust gas flow, four independent exhaust pipes corresponding to the cylinders, collecting pipes which collect all independent exhaust pipes, and the catalyst device are provided. The single exhaust pipe includes two bending parts and a downstream part thereof is connected so that the exhaust gas is introduced from a direction that is diagonally lateral to an inlet part of the catalyst device.
Catalyst installation structure of outboard motor
An outboard motor equipped with a four-stroke engine and provided with a catalyst installation structure, in which an exhaust passage is connected to the exhaust ports of the plurality of the cylinders to lead the exhaust gas out of the engine is provided with a catalyst storage chamber configured to store a catalytic converter for cleaning up the exhaust gas, the exhaust passage being integrally formed to the cylinder block, and the catalytic converter is mounted to the catalyst storage chamber by being inserted from a lower side thereof in such a manner as that at least one side end portion thereof is fitted to the catalyst storage chamber to permit expansion of the catalytic converter in an axial direction thereof.
GAS/LIQUID MIXING DEVICE FOR EXHAUST AFTERTREATMENT
A mixing device for an exhaust gas conduit comprises a first, inner sleeve having an upstream end, a downstream end and an inner passage extending therethrough having a diameter D. A deflector fin is formed in the first, inner sleeve and extends into the inner passage. A second, outer air-gap shell has an upstream end, a downstream end and a central portion having a diameter D1 that is larger than the diameter D of the first, inner sleeve. The inner sleeve is disposed in the second, outer air-gap shell and the upstream and downstream ends are sealingly fixed to the first, inner sleeve to define an air-gap about the portion of the first, inner sleeve in which the deflector fin is formed.
Marine propulsion device and marine vessel
A marine propulsion device includes an engine, an exhaust pipe to allow exhaust gas of the engine to pass through the exhaust pipe, and a cooling water supply passage to supply cooling water for the engine into the exhaust pipe toward a downstream side in a flow direction of the exhaust gas and cause the cooling water to flow circumferentially along an inner peripheral surface of the exhaust pipe.
