In the case of a method for operating an exhaust gas aftertreatment system of a motor vehicle, the exhaust gas aftertreatment system comprises at least one NOx storage catalyst (10) and at least one SCR catalyst (30). According to the invention, when an inadequate function of the NOx storage catalyst (10) or of the SCR catalyst (30) is identified, at least one auxiliary measure is initiated which leads to a reduction of the NOx emissions of the motor vehicle.
SELF-TUNING CIRCUIT FOR CONTROLLING INPUT PRESSURE VALUES FOR AN AFTERTREATMENT SYSTEM
A controller including a self-tuning circuit for controlling a pressure system to output an input pressure corresponding to an input pressure value using an adaptive fuzzy control system and updating dosing command values of a dosing command table for controlling a dosing unit of an aftertreatment system. The self-tuning circuit is configured to determine an input pressure value and generate a pressure control signal using the adaptive fuzzy control system based on the input pressure value, a detected input pressure, and an error amount. The self-tuning circuit is further configured to regulate the input pressure of reductant to the dosing unit from a reductant tank using a pressure control signal for a pressure control device. The self-tuning circuit is further configured to update a dosing command value of a dosing command table of the controller in conjunction with regulating the input pressure of reductant.
Control apparatus
A control apparatus controlling a controlled variable of a controlled object having a response lag characteristic using a combination of feedforward control method, response-specifying control method, and disturbance compensation method. An ECU of the apparatus calculates driver demand boost pressure for feedforward-controlling actual boost pressure as controlled variable, and calculates FB target pressure as value on which response lag characteristic of the actual value to the driver demand value is reflected. The ECU calculates error as difference between the actual and target values, and feedback correction term as sum of equivalent control input including disturbance estimated value and the error as variables and reaching law input, using equation defining relationship between the error, feedback correction term value, and disturbance estimated value, and response-specifying control algorithm, and then adds the correction term value to the driver demand value to thereby calculate demanded boost pressure as control input.
Cooling system for vehicle and controlling method thereof
A cooling system for a vehicle may include a cooling water temperature sensor, a cooling circulation fluid passage including first, second and third fluid passages, wherein the cooling water exhausted from the engine may be branched into the first fluid passage provided with a heater core, the second fluid passage provided with a radiator, and the third fluid passage provided with an exhaust heat recovery apparatus, a fluid flow adjusting valve provided on a point at which the cooling water passing through the cooling water temperature sensor may be branched into the first fluid passage to the third fluid passage to adjust a flow of the cooling water, and a controlling part controlling the first fluid passage to the third fluid passage to be selectively opened or closed by operating the fluid flow adjusting valve depending on the temperature of the cooling water, in a heating mode and a non-heating mode.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING REGENERATION OF CATALYST
A method for controlling regeneration a catalyst by an exhaust gas purification device includes: measuring a temperature of exhaust gas flowing into a first catalyst unit; estimating a NO.sub.x amount loaded into the first catalyst unit and a slip amount of NO.sub.x of the first catalyst unit by using the temperature and an amount of the exhaust gas of the first catalyst unit; calculating a temperature of a second catalyst unit by using the temperature of the first catalyst unit; and estimating a NO.sub.x amount flowing into the second catalyst unit by using at least one of the slip amount of NO.sub.x of the first catalyst unit and the temperature of the second catalyst unit.
Reactor apparatus and method for reducing NOx from exhaust gases produced by industrial processes
A reactor apparatus and method for removing and/or reducing NOx, CO, carbon particulates and hydrocarbons from exhaust gases produced by industrial processes includes a reactor including an inlet plenum, a reaction chamber, an outlet plenum, and a heat exchanger wherein gases exiting the reaction chamber heat gases entering the reaction chamber. EGR is drawn through a cooling heat exchanger with an injection blower and is delivered through control valves to the reaction chamber, the inlet plenum and to an add fuel mixing chamber whereby mixed fuel and EGR is delivered to the reaction chamber. A feedback controller controls the flow valves responsive to the temperatures in the reaction chamber entrance and the outlet plenum.
Reductant dosing control system
Systems and methods for controlling a dosing of reductant for an internal combustion engine system including a catalyst are disclosed. The method includes measuring a value indicative of inlet temperature of the catalyst. When the inlet temperature is less than or equal to a first threshold, the method includes adjusting the dosing of reductant according to a first process. When the inlet temperature is greater than the first threshold, the method includes adjusting the dosing of reductant according to a second process, the second process being different than the first process.
METHOD FOR ADAPTING AN AMOUNT OF REDUCTANT FOR CONTROLLING THE NITROGEN OXIDE POLLUTION OF GASES IN A MOTOR EXHAUST LINE
In a process for adapting an amount of reducing agent for a removal of nitrogen oxides from the gases in an exhaust line, a first alignment of the amounts of nitrogen oxides measured by upstream and downstream sensors is performed without injection of agent and with a catalyst of the system emptied of ammonia. A second alignment of the estimated reduction of nitrogen oxides with the measured reduction is performed by a difference between amounts of nitrogen oxides upstream and downstream during a substoichiometric injection of reducing agent without creating a store of ammonia in a catalyst of the system with a first correction of the amount of agent. A third alignment of an estimated efficiency of retaining nitrogen oxides with a efficiency measured by the sensors is performed, this third alignment taking place via a second correction of the amount of reducing agent injected as an adaptive correction.
Method for controlling a reflux valve and exhaust system
A method for controlling a return valve of an exhaust system and to an exhaust system with a control unit which is configured to carry out the method. The method is based on the object of avoiding an overpressure in the line system for urea solution as a result of a reduction in the injection rate. The method includes the steps of determining whether one or more of the following states are present during the operation of the exhaust system: a) an injection rate per unit of time of urea solution of the dosing valve is less than or equal to a predefined injection limit, b) a pressure measured by the pressure sensor in the line system overshoots a predefined first upper pressure limit (P2). The return valve is opened for a first predefined opening duration (Δt1) if states a) and b) are present and at least one of the states has already been present for at least a predefined period of time (Δta). The return valve is closed after the first predefined opening duration (Δt1) has elapsed.

When a temperature increasing process is performed, a CPU sets a target temperature of a catalyst to be lower when a coolant temperature is low than when the coolant temperature is high. The CPU decreases an increase coefficient of fuel in the temperature increasing process when a value obtained by subtracting an estimated value of a temperature of the catalyst from the target temperature is equal to or less than a first prescribed value.
