ENGINE
This engine comprises an engine body and an ECU. The ECU is configured to execute a high idling limitation when a prescribed condition is fulfilled during startup. When executing a high idle limitation, the ECU determines a first upper limit speed, which is an upper limit value of high idling speed, and a first limitation time, which is a time during which the high idling limitation continues, on the basis of the engine temperature during startup. Based on the temperature of the environment, the ECU determines a second upper limit speed, which is an upper limit value of high idling speed, and a second limitation time, which is a time during which the high idling limitation continues. The ECU executes the high idling limitation based on either the determined first upper limit speed or second upper limit speed, and either the first limitation time or the second limitation time.
Method And Device For Closed-Loop Control Of The Temperature Of A Component In An Exhaust Tract Of An Internal Combustion Engine By A Predictor
The disclosure provides a method and a device for closed-loop control of a temperature of a component in an exhaust-gas tract of an internal combustion engine. The exhaust-gas tract has a temperature sensor arranged upstream of the component. The method includes providing a control circuit for the closed-loop control of the temperature of the component and detecting a measurement signal by the temperature sensor during the operation of the internal combustion engine. The measurement signal is characteristic of an exhaust-gas temperature. The measurement signal is used as a measured controlled variable for the control circuit for the closed-loop control of the temperature of the component. The method also includes determining a temperature model for the exhaust-gas temperature of the exhaust gas upstream of the component. The temperature model is used as a predictor for the control circuit. Also, a modeled controlled variable is provided from the temperature model.
VEHICLE EXHAUST DISSIPATION SYSTEM FOR IMPROVED LIDAR DETECTION
A vehicle exhaust dissipation system includes a fan unit and one or more processors. A memory is communicably coupled to the one or more processors and stores a fan control module including computer-readable instructions that when executed by the processor(s) cause the processor(s) to, responsive to a determination that an ambient temperature is equal to or below a fan rotor activation temperature, control operation of the fan unit to generate an airflow directed into an exhaust gas exiting the vehicle from a vehicle exhaust opening.
Remote controlled engine revving
Methods and systems are provided for user controlled engine revving. In one example, the engine may be revved to a peak speed according to a target revving sequence in response to a user-initiated command. A revving sound may be provided in response to an input device, without demanding manual depression of an accelerator pedal.
Method for controlling regeneration of an exhaust gas aftertreatment system of an internal combustion engine arranged on a vehicle
The invention concerns a method for controlling regeneration of an exhaust gas aftertreatment system (7, 8) of an internal combustion engine (4) arranged on a vehicle (1), wherein the vehicle (1) is provided with a control system configured to control the regeneration in at least a first regeneration strategy mode comprising a first set of predetermined actions to be taken for controlling initialization and performance of regeneration processes. The method comprises the steps of: (100)—adapting the control system so as to be configured to alternatively control the regeneration in a second regeneration strategy mode, wherein the second regeneration strategy mode comprises a second set of predetermined actions to be taken for controlling initialization and performance of regeneration processes, and wherein the first and second regeneration strategy modes differ from each other in that the first and second set of predetermined regeneration control actions differ from each other; (200)—collecting, during operation of said vehicle (1) or of another vehicle, data on an exhaust gas regeneration capability of said vehicle (1) or the other vehicle as a function of time; and (300)—evaluating, based on the collected data and the difference between the first and second regeneration strategy modes, whether the first or the second regeneration strategy mode is the most suitable for said vehicle (1) if operating under conditions corresponding to the operational conditions for the vehicle for which data were collected. The invention also concerns a vehicle arranged to be the subject of such a method and to a computer program product, a computer readable medium and a control system related to performance of the steps of the above method.
Systems and methods for particulate filter load estimation
Methods and systems are provided for monitoring a change in exhaust particulate filter (PF) soot load during an engine non-combusting condition. In one example, a method may include, responsive to a higher than threshold PF temperature immediately prior to an engine shutdown, estimating a rate of soot burn when the engine is no longer combusting, and estimating a soot load on the PF during and at an onset of immediately subsequent engine start based in part on the rate of soot burn.
Control device for hybrid vehicle and control system for hybrid vehicle
A control device for a hybrid vehicle includes a driving control part configured to acquire for each driving road section from a server a value of the output parameter linked with a vehicle speed of the same extent as the scheduled vehicle speed when driving over a driving road section on a scheduled driving route to calculate for each driving road section the scheduled vehicle demanded output when driving over the driving road section or acquire from the server the scheduled vehicle demanded output for each driving road section calculated based on the value of the output parameter for each driving road section at the server to heat the catalyst device before using the output of the internal combustion engine as part of the drive power when there is the driving road section where the scheduled vehicle demanded output becomes the engine start output or more.
Control device for vehicle
A CPU prompts a user to drive a vehicle to a repair shop by operating a display when an amount of PM deposited in a GPF increases. When a regeneration request for the GPF is input from a shop-side terminal in the repair shop, the CPU performs a regeneration process in a state in which the vehicle stops. The CPU controls a temperature of the GPF such that the temperature at the time of execution of the regeneration process becomes lower when an opening/closing member is in a closed state than when the opening/closing member is in an open state.
System and method for previewing vehicle emissions
Methods and systems for operating an engine that includes an after treatment system are described. In one example, traffic data and navigation system data are a basis for deciding whether or not to increase heat output of an engine to ensure operation of the after treatment system. In particular, one or more actuators may be adjusted to minimize fuel consumption and/or reduce feedgas emissions while generating sufficient heat to maintain after treatment system operation.
