Exhaust gas turbocharger assembly having an exhaust gas turbocharger and an actuator
11486296 · 2022-11-01 · ·

An exhaust gas turbocharger assembly includes a turbocharger, an actuator, and a bolted connection for releasably securing the actuator housing on a housing flange of the turbocharger housing. The bolted connection includes a through opening, an aperture bounded at the circumference by an internal thread made of a metal, and a fit bolt with a bolt body which merges axially into a bolt head. The bolt body has a first axial body section with an external thread formed in a manner complementary to the internal thread of the aperture, and a second axial body section arranged axially between the bolt head and the first body section. The fit bolt engages through the through opening of the actuator housing in the internal thread of the aperture with the external thread to clamp the actuator housing between the housing flange of the turbocharger housing and the bolt head of the fit bolt.

The present invention relates to a valve arrangement (100) for a multi-channel turbine (10), having a housing section (300) with a first volute (320), with a second volute (340) and with a connecting region (360) between the first volute (320) and the second volute (340), and having a valve body (110) for closing off the connecting region (360) in a closed position of the valve body (110). A wall region (370) of the housing section (300), which wall region is arranged in the connecting region (360) and is situated opposite the valve body (110) in the closed position, is configured to be optimized in terms of flow to increase, during operation of the valve arrangement (100), a rate of flow transfer of exhaust gas between the first volute (320) and the second volute (340) in an open position of the valve body (110).

Vent insert

A vent insert is disclosed for use with an automotive turbocharger system. The vent has a substantially cylindrical hollow tube with a first end for seating the vent and a second open end. The first end has a rim around an opening. The second end of the vent has an angled opening that faces away from the direction of the gas flow when the vent insert is operating within the turbocharger system. There are a plurality of protrusions extending outward from the outside surface of the vent to assist in keeping the vent insert in place in the turbocharger system.

VALVE STRUCTURE AND TURBOCHARGER

A valve structure includes: a valve unit including a valve body, a shaft portion extending from the valve body, and a separating portion provided on the shaft portion and spaced apart from the valve body; a mounting plate located between the valve body and the separating portion and including an insertion hole into which the shaft portion is inserted; a holding portion including a first holding surface provided on the mounting plate, and a second holding surface provided on the valve unit and spaced apart from the first holding surface; a protrusion provided on one of the valve unit and the mounting plate, an end of the protrusion protruding beyond the first and second holding surfaces; and an elastic body including a contact portion located between the first and second holding surfaces, and a pressed portion located inside or outside the contact portion and contacting the protrusion.

Increase aftertreatment temperature during light load operation

Systems, methods, and apparatuses are provided for increasing exhaust gas temperature. A system includes a valve and a controller coupled to the valve. The controller is structured to determine that a plurality of cylinders of an engine are active; compare an exhaust aftertreatment temperature to an exhaust aftertreatment temperature setpoint; and in response to the comparison, adjust an effective flow area for exhaust gas from the plurality of cylinders of the engine to increase an exhaust gas temperature.

The valve closing control is performed to close the waist gate valve of the turbocharger when the hydraulic fluid temperature is less than the temperature threshold. By closing the waist gate valve, the output torque is increased by increasing the amount of air taken into the engine that is idling operation, to suppress the engine stall that may occur when switching from the non-driving range to the driving range.

Regulating method for a charged internal combustion engine

A regulating method for a charged internal combustion engine, wherein an operating point of the compressor is adjusted in a compressor map by a compressor position regulator based on a throttle valve regulation deviation in that both a first manipulated variable for actuating the compressor bypass valve as well as a second manipulated variable for actuating the turbine bypass valve are calculated by the compressor position regulator. The operating point of the compressor is corrected by a correction regulator on the basis of an air mass regulation deviation in that both a first correction variable for correcting the first manipulated variable as well as a second correction variable for correcting the second manipulated variable are calculated by the correction regulator.
