Coordinated weight selection
A free weight assembly includes a cradle, an aerobic exercise element that is movable with respect to the cradle during the performance of an exercise, at least one free weight removable from the cradle, an input in communication with a processor that determines a time to instruct a user to remove the free weight, and an indicator that activates when the time to remove the free weight arrives.
Fitness systems and methods thereof
Systems and methods for fitness tracking are provided. An exercise apparatus is in networked communication with a fitness tracking computing system. The configuration and location of movable components of the exercise apparatus is determined based on sensors. This information is provided to the fitness tracking computing system via networked communication.
SPORT APPARATUS WITH INTEGRATED SENSORS
A sport apparatus comprising a shaft, wherein the shaft comprises a notch fitting and a sensor housing. The sensor housing comprises an alignment rib fitting, printed circuit board, rechargeable battery, one or more motion sensors, a transceiver, an inductive charging coil, among other necessary elements for the sport apparatus as described herein. A portion of the sensor housing resides within the shaft, wherein the alignment rib of the sensor housing mates with a notch or other locking mechanism of the shaft.
STEP-COUNTING TREADMILL
A step-sensing treadmill includes a frame assembly includes a lower frame securely mounted on a ground, a controller electrically connected to a dashboard and two step-sensing units each of which is mounted between the walking belt assembly and a left side or a right side of the lower frame of the frame assembly, and is collaborated with the controller to continuously sense a voltage variation caused by user's movement on walking belt relative to the walking belt in a motionless state. When the first voltage variation is greater than a predetermined voltage variation threshold, the controller determines that one user's left or right step on the walking belt is made, and increments a left or right step number by one. The left and right step numbers can be used to further calculate calorie burned, and determine exercising conditions of the user during an exercise activity.
Bilateral hand rehabilitation device and system
A bilateral hand rehabilitation device is disclosed. The device includes a pair of left and right handlebar members that are fixedly coupled or connected together. The device further includes a pair of moveable left and right finger grip members, one for each of the handlebar members. Each finger grip member being elongate and having a longitudinal axis that is substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of its respective handlebar member, and each finger grip member being moveably mounted with respect to its respective handlebar member for movement toward and away from the handlebar member to facilitate a user finger grasp and release movement when in use. The device further includes an asymmetric connection mechanism that operatively couples the pair of finger grip members to each other for simultaneous asymmetric movement of the finger grip members such that the movement of one finger grip member toward or away from its respective handlebar member causes the other finger grip member to move in the opposite direction away or toward its respective handlebar member.
System for Determining a Force Being Generated by a Patient
A system and method for determining a patient force during a motion includes a tether adapted to be biased during a motion so that a tension force is applied. The tether is connected a motor and generates a tether force about the motor. The system controls the motor by generating a motor torque in a direction opposite the tether force. A recording module stores the motor torque at a plurality of intervals during the motion and a position of the tether. A display module generates a plot of a position of the patient versus a force generated by the patient. The position of the patient corresponds to the cumulative rotation of the shaft in the first direction about the axis of rotation of the shaft at each of the intervals. The force generated by the patient corresponds to the amount of motor torque at each of the intervals.
RESISTANCE SENSING APPARATUS FOR EXERCISE EQUIPMENT
A resistance sensing apparatus for exercise equipment includes a resistance adjusting assembly and a sensing unit. The resistance adjusting assembly includes an adjusting unit, a tubular member disposed above the adjusting unit, and an adjusting shaft mounted in the tubular member. The adjusting shaft has a first threaded portion and a second threaded portion formed thereon. The adjusting unit is threaded onto the first threaded portion. The sensing unit includes a second threaded member threadedly engaged to the second threaded portion, a first sensing member is disposed on one of the adjusting unit and the second threaded member, the second sensing member is disposed on the other of the adjusting unit and the second threaded member. By adjusting the adjusting unit and the second threaded member, a distance of the first and the second sensing member is changed and generates corresponding signals.
EXERCISE MACHINE SAFETY ENHANCEMENTS
Sensor data is collected from a sensor monitoring a tension generating device of an exercise machine. The sensor data is analyzed to determine whether the sensor data is within a specification. In the event the sensor data is not within a specification, an error stop mode is entered for the tension generating device.
EXERCISE SYSTEM AND METHOD
A method for displaying archived exercise classes comprising displaying information about archived exercise classes that can be accessed by a first user via a computer network on a display screen at a first location, wherein the first user can select among a plurality of archived classes, outputting digital video and audio content comprising the selected archived class, detecting a performance parameter for the first user at a particular point in the selected class, displaying the performance parameter on the display screen, and displaying performance parameters from a second user at a second location on the display screen such that at least one of the performance parameters from the first user and at least one of the performance parameters from the second user at the same point in the class are presented for comparison.
SPORTS EQUIPMENT WITH ALTERABLE CHARACTERISTIC
Articles of sports equipment, such as striking implements (e.g., sticks) and wearable articles (e.g., skates, helmets) for playing hockey or other activities, in which at least one of the characteristics (e.g., stiffness) of the articles of sports equipment is adaptable and can be altered during use of the sports equipment, such as by comprising an alterable component coupled to a controller, by comprising an alterable component that is autonomously alterable, and/or by an alterable component that can be altered in response to a command of a remote device.
