The engine system also includes a controller operably connected with the electrified air-boost system, with the controller configured to monitor engine speed and engine load during operation of the engine, identify an impending engine stall condition based on the monitored engine speed and engine load, and when the impending engine stall condition is identified, temporarily operate the electrified air-boost system to boost the intake air to the engine, thereby boosting a torque output of the engine.

CONTROL SYSTEM FOR WORK VEHICLE, CONTROL METHOD, AND WORK VEHICLE
20180002894 · 2018-01-04 ·

A control system for a work vehicle includes an acceleration detection device and a controller. The acceleration detection device detects an acceleration of the work vehicle. The controller determines whether the acceleration is greater than a first threshold and reduces the a vehicle speed when the acceleration continues to be equal to or greater than the first threshold over a predetermined first determination time period.

Methods and systems are provided for a fuel system. In one example, a method includes flowing fuel tank vapors to a catalyst during a fuel tank depressurization in response to a refueling request. The method further includes executing an engine vapor flush following a refueling event being completed.

Prime mover RPM limiting control

A side-by-side off-road utility vehicle comprising a vehicle operational status switch for controlling the operational status of the vehicle, a side-by-side seating structure, a plurality of safety restraint devices operable to retain one or more vehicle passenger in the side-by-side seating structure, and a prime mover RPM controller. The prime mover RPM controller operable to output commands to the one or more prime mover of the vehicle to limit a rotational speed of the prime mover(s) when the vehicle is in an On operational status and a selected one or more of the one or more safety restraints is in a disengaged status.

CONTROLLING NOx EMISSION CONTROL DURING START OF A VEHICLE

A method for NOx emission control during start of a vehicle comprising an exhaust aftertreatment system, an engine, and a NOx sensor is provided. The method includes determining a temperature of the NOx sensor; if the determined temperature of the NOx sensor is below a predetermined threshold, initiating heating of the NOx sensor, and performing a preventive action for delaying engine start until a determined temperature of the NOx sensor exceeds or is equal to the predetermined threshold.

HYDRAULIC STATIC TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

A HST system for use in traveling of a vehicle includes a controller that controls a pump regulator that changes a displacement of a pump and a motor regulator that changes a displacement of a motor. The controller determines whether or not a particular downhill travel condition is satisfied based on a result of detection by a vehicle speed detector that detects a vehicle speed of the vehicle and a result of detection by a rotation number detector that detects a number of rotations of an engine per unit time. In a case where a depression amount of an accelerator pedal, which is detected by a depression amount detector, is zero and the particular downhill travel condition is satisfied, the controller controls the motor regulator to increase the displacement of the motor.

METHODS FOR A ROAD SURFACE METRIC

Methods and systems are provided for estimation of a road roughness index (RRI) and adjusting vehicle operation based on the metric. In one example, a method may include estimating the RRI as a function of a pitch energy and a roll energy of the vehicle travelling on the road. In response to the RRI being higher than a threshold, engine operation such as EGR flow rate may be adjusted.

Method and system for fuel filter monitoring

A fuel filter monitoring method includes receiving pressure signals that are indicative of a pressure drop across at least one fuel filter of a fuel supply system configured to supply fuel to at least one fuel injector of an internal combustion engine and receiving a condition signal indicative of a condition of a fuel supply system, the condition signal being generated by one or more of a geographic location sensor, an altitude sensor, and/or a fuel temperature sensor. The method includes estimating a remaining life of at least one fuel filter of the fuel supply system based on the pressure signal and the condition signal and outputting a notification indicative of the estimated remaining life.

EXHAUST VALVE FAILURE DIAGNOSTICS AND MANAGEMENT

A method of operating an engine is provided. An exhaust valve actuation fault is detected for a first exhaust valve associated with a first cylinder during a first working cycle. In response to the detection of the exhaust valve actuation fault, fueling to at least the first cylinder is cut off. Actuation of the first exhaust valve is attempted in second working cycles that follow the first working cycle, wherein the second working cycles are not fueled. Whether or not the first exhaust valve actuated properly during the second working cycles is determined. Operation of the first cylinder is resumed when it is determined that the first exhaust valve actuated properly. Operation of the first cylinder is not resumed when it is determined that the first exhaust valve did not actuate properly.
