Stick patterns in a sporting event
11998803 · 2024-06-04 ·

A system and method of tracking and classifying an athlete's stick techniques used during a sporting event are disclosed, which includes measuring detailed motions and position of at least one stick object being used in sports, producing relevant stick technique patterns and classifying those patterns in a relevant manner. Classified stick pattern data is used to improve the accuracy and clarity of sporting event metrics, the ability to quantify athlete's skill and the ability to develop athletes based on their game situation techniques. The method used allows for accurate, near real-time discovery of stick patterns during live sporting events without altering or impacting the game or an athlete's ability to perform.

Swimming timer
11998830 · 2024-06-04 ·

A swimming timer including a fluid container, a fluid channel, a fluid sensor, a control circuit board and a display device. The fluid channel is connected to the fluid container and the fluid sensor, and the control circuit board is wired with the fluid sensor and the display device. The fluid container is installed and mounted on a side-wall of a swimming lane. When a swimmer starts, turns and stops, the fluid container will be touched and compressed forcing the fluid inside to flow into the fluid channel. The fluid sensor detects the fluid flow and generates electronic signals accordingly for the control circuit board and the built-in timing and stopwatch program to use as the input commands of start, lap and stop to compute the swimming time and the number of swimming laps. The display device is to show the results for the swimmer reference.

Repetition phase detection

Controlling an exercise machine includes receiving a stream of measurements of extension of a component of an exercise machine. It further includes detecting a first phase of a repeated motion. It further includes detecting a transition to a second phase of the repeated motion. A time constraint is applied to the detection of the transition to the second phase of the repeated motion. It further includes controlling a resistance associated with the second phase of the repeated motion.

BALL GAME

A ball game including a vertically disposed rod, a holder for holding a handheld device, the holder being rotatably mounted on the rod such that the holder can be rotated about an axis of said rod; and a ball coupled to the holder by a string and configured such that rotation of the ball about the rod urges the rotation of the holder about the axis of the rod.

MULTIFUNCTIONAL ABDOMINAL EXERCISE WHEEL
20190151708 · 2019-05-23 ·

The present invention discloses a multifunctional abdominal exercise wheel, comprising a main body, support members, a central pipe fitting, and a spring barrel. Two ends of the central pipe fitting are each provided with a support rotating member. The support rotating member is pivoted to a support member. The central pipe fitting is inserted into the spring barrel and fixed. The spring barrel is provided with a power spring. The main body is fixedly provided with a single-chip microcomputer, and a display apparatus, a sensor, and a button separately electrically connected to the single-chip microcomputer. Therefore, motion data can be displayed, the stroke and resistance of the abdominal exercise wheel can be adjusted, torsion outputs are stable, and springback noise is small.

PRINTABLE ELECTRONIC GARMENT CONDUIT

An athletic garment includes sensors at different locations of the garment. The sensors are electrically coupled to a processing unit and/or a power source via one or more conduits that are printed onto the garment. The conduits are designed for improved flexibility to accommodate stretching in the garment that occurs as a user wearing the garment performs an exercise and for improved durability to resist corrosion due to friction, sweat, or washing of the garment. In one embodiment, the conduits are designed for decreased stress concentrations at seams of the garment. In one embodiment, the conduits are designed to create a conductive pathway between different surfaces of the garment to electrically couple sensors on a first side (skin side) of the garment and a processing unit and/or a power source on a second side (outer side) of the garment.

SENSOR INCORPORATED INTO THE SOLE OF A SHOE

A shoe can include a sole with a top surface and a bottom surface opposite the top surface, an upper member coupled to the top surface of the sole, and a sensor coupled to and surrounded by the sole. The sensor can include a processor an antenna in communication with the processor where the antenna is positioned proximate the bottom surface of the sole.

Athletic performance estimation techniques

Systems and methods are described for computing real-time athletic performance parameters that characterize an athlete's activity while participating in a sport. A system includes a performance measuring unit that is, for example, attached to an article of clothing of an athlete and that monitors movement and activity while the athlete participates in the sport. The performance measuring unit can include multiple types of activity-based sensors (e.g., an accelerometer, a magnetometer, and/or a gyroscope) that are configured to collect sensor data reflective of positional changes of the performance measuring unit. The computing unit of the performance measuring unit processes the collected sensor data in real-time using specified techniques to identify the occurrence of events, which refer to a particular time periods during which the collected sensor data are associated with movements of interest (e.g., movements associated with a high intensity action).
