Aiming feedback system with inertial sensors
An aiming system that provides feedback on how closely the aim of an object is aligned with a direction to a target. An inertial sensor on the object provides data on the object's position and orientation; this data is combined with target direction information to determine how to correct the aim. An illustrative application is a golf club aiming system that measures whether the clubface normal is aligned horizontally with the direction to the hole. The system sends feedback signals to the user to help the user adjust the aim. These signals may include for example audible tones or haptic vibrations that vary in frequency and amplitude to instruct the user to adjust the aim. For example, haptic signals may be sent to a smart watch worn by the user; the user may therefore obtain aiming feedback without having to look at a screen.
Power Stepper App
A system designed for exercising while sitting includes a rigid housing configured to receive at least one sensor to detect motion. The sensor is configured to identify an oscillatory motion of a knee raising and lowering through pivoting of an ankle of a user wherein a heel of a foot of the user lifts off of a surface and wherein a toe of the user remains planted on the surface. A mobile device in wireless communication with the motion sensor runs an application that provides a user with a multitude of features. The features include exercise statistics, energy spent, and steps taken. A further feature of the mobile device application is to provide a user with a virtual environment on the screen of the mobile device. Exercise performed by the user is translated into forward motion in the provided virtual environment.
EQUIPMENT RECOMMENDATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A computer-implemented method for recommending an item of equipment, which comprises: gathering sensed data from a sensor; processing the sensed data in accordance with a biomechanical protocol to determine at least one performance indicator associated with a subject's execution of the biomechanical protocol; and determining at least one recommended feature of an item of equipment based at least in part on the at least one performance indicator. Also, an equipment recommendation system with specific application to hockey, which comprises: a camera configured to produce images representative of execution of a hockey shot of a given type by a subject; an I/O interface; and a processor connected to the camera via the I/O interface and configured to extract parameters from the images and to output, via the I/O interface, a hockey stick recommendation for the subject that is based on the parameters and on the given type of hockey shot.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
[Object] To provide a mechanism that can visualize an operation of a target object from a smaller amount of information. [Solution] An information processing apparatus includes: an acquisition section configured to acquire an operation model indicating an operation pattern related to a target object; a calculation section configured to calculate an overall operation including an identified partial operation of operations of the target object, with reference to the operation model acquired by the acquisition section; and an output control section configured to output output information indicating the overall operation of the target object that has been calculated by the calculation section.
Measuring Method for Maximum Muscle Strength
A measuring method for maximum muscle strength may be applied to a muscle training device and a user of the device. The muscle training device may include a control unit, an operation display unit, and a drag unit. The measuring method assists the user to measure their maximum strength on the muscle training device by themself, and this knowledge is helpful in designing and adjusting a muscle training schedule and to evaluate the resulting progress.
Instrumented total body recumbent cross trainer system
A physical exercise device providing a stepper like motion for a user may include a pair of foot pedals and a pair of arms for engagement by the user while seated on the seat of the physical exercise device. The pair of foot pedals and the pair of arms may be connected to a drive train which provides contralateral motion between the pair of arms and the pair of foot pedals. A pedal and arm lock mechanism may also be provided which prevents the pedals and arms to be moved in a lock state, while allowing movement of the pedals and the arms when in the unlock state. The physical exercise device may also include computational and data acquisition units for receiving a position signal and pedal force signals and recording the signals.
Sports training safety system and method of operation thereof
A sports training safety system (100) and method of operation (2000) thereof includes: a training dummy (105); a magnetic release (160) attached to the training dummy (105); a delivery carriage (150) mounted to the magnetic release (160); a delivery rail (130) for supporting the delivery carriage (150); and a transport system (165), attached to the delivery rail (130), for moving the delivery carriage (150) and the training dummy (105) along the delivery rail (130).
Electrical stimulation device, training apparatus, and electrical stimulation method
Provided is an electrical stimulation device including a first to fourth electrodes, and an electrical stimulation generation section which supplies an electrical stimulation signal to each of the first to fourth electrodes. The electrical stimulation generation section supplies, to the first and second electrodes, an electrical stimulation signal according to a first stimulation pattern, and supplies, to the third and fourth electrodes, an electrical stimulation signal according to a second stimulation pattern. The first stimulation pattern is set so that an electrical stimulation signal for changing stimulation intensity according to a first waveform is supplied to the first electrode, and an electrical stimulation signal for changing stimulation intensity according to a second waveform is supplied to the second electrode, the second waveform being increased and decreased in conjunction with the first waveform. The second stimulation pattern is set so that an electrical stimulation signal for changing stimulation intensity according to a third waveform is supplied to the third electrode, and an electrical stimulation signal for changing stimulation intensity according to a fourth waveform is supplied to the fourth electrode, the fourth waveform being increased and decreased in conjunction with the third waveform. The electrical stimulation generation section alternately performs electrical stimulation of the first stimulation pattern and electrical stimulation of the second stimulation pattern.
Physical activity and dietary based services
In an approach for providing dynamic services a computer receives a dietary plan for an individual. The computer tracks physical activity data for the individual. The computer creates one or more propositions for the individual based at least in part on the received dietary plan and the tracked physical activity data. The computer provides the created one or more propositions to the individual. The computer receives a selection from the created one or more propositions. The computer tracks the received selection.
