STRENGTH CALIBRATION
20200261771 · 2020-08-20 ·

A resistance force is controlled such that a user's effort against the resistance force results in a first isokinetic seed movement, wherein the user is an exercise machine user using an exercise machine. The resistance force required to effect the first isokinetic seed movement is associated with a predetermined force-velocity profile. A strength determination of the user is made based at least in part on the required resistance force and the associated predetermined force-velocity profile.

SPORTS BALL SYSTEM FOR MONITORING BALL CHARACTERISTICS AND METHOD THEREFOR

A sports ball system for calculating movement characteristics has a sports ball. The sports ball monitors movement characteristics of the sports ball. A wearable device receives data transmitted by the sports ball. The wearable device analyzes and displays the data transmitted.

Multi-sensor event correlation system
10748581 · 2020-08-18 · ·

A sensor event detection and tagging system that analyzes data from multiple sensors to detect an event and to automatically select or generate tags for the event. Sensors may include for example a motion capture sensor and one or more additional sensors that measure values such as temperature, humidity, wind or elevation. Tags and event detection may be performed by a microprocessor associated with or integrated with the sensors, or by a computer that receives data from the microprocessor. Tags may represent for example activity types, players, performance levels, or scoring results. The system may analyze social media postings to confirm or augment event tags. Users may filter and analyze saved events based on the assigned tags. The system may create highlight and fail reels filtered by metrics and by tags.

Wearable electronic devices that are designed to be worn on the head of a user while the user is swimming can determine swimming strokes and swimming performances of the user using motion sensors. Using a sound speaker, the wearable electronic device can play music and provide audio feedback to the swimmer. By comparing the swimming performance of the swimmer wearing the device with previously recorded swimming data, the wearable electronic device can provide audio comparison results to the swimmer while the swimmer is swimming in water. The wearable electronic device can also support similar functions for jumping actions.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ATHLETIC MOTION ANALYSIS AND INSTRUCTION
20200254341 · 2020-08-13 ·

A system and method for analyzing and improving the performance of a body motion of an animal or human subject requires instrumenting a subject with inertial sensors, monitoring a body motion of interest, converting sensor data into motion data and animation, comparing the motion data with existing data for motion related performance parameters, providing a real-time, information rich, animation and data display of the results in color coded displays; and based on the results prescribing a training regime with exercises selected from a library of standardized exercises using standardized tools and training aids.

Smart system for display of dynamic movement parameters in sport and training
10737165 · 2020-08-11 ·

A system that wirelessly integrates actual golf equipment, game apparatus, or gaming tool, with a computer and the internet to allow players remotely located from one another to play a competitive real or simulated game. An individual player may opt to play solo or practice to improve basic golfing or sports techniques. The system includes any sports implement or smart golf clubs, a golf ball receptacle and a golf club motion sensing devices, all containing circuits and contact and or noncontact motion sensors coupled with signal processing and radio frequency transmitter circuitry to wirelessly communicate game performance information to a remote receiver-computer. The computer display screen displays player information and visually simulates and controls a game between one or more local computer players or via the internet having similar equipment and remotely located from each other. The computer displays player information such as anatomical motion or data, game apparatus, gaming tool, or sports implement information simultaneously, and visually simulates and controls a game between two players via the internet having sports equipment remotely located from each other, providing graphics animation and graphics to learn and compete by. Standard sports implements may be retrofitted with the sensors and associated circuitry to convert such implements as clubs into smart dubs for use with the system. The system employs specially developed computer software to process player performance data, control game play, communicate game information between players, generate and control visual simulations and display player performance information and dynamic motion parameters.

Headset visual displacement for motion correction
10737146 · 2020-08-11 · ·

Many headset devices, such as virtual reality helmets, present visuals that respond to the user's motion, such that a rotation of the user's head causes the visual to be re-rendered from a correspondingly rotated perspective. The lag between the user's motion and the updated rendering from the new perspective may be perceivable even at high framerates, and may induce unpleasant feelings such as vertigo. Instead, headset devices may respond to detected motion by identifying a displacement of the physical location of the visual that causes it to maintain a physical position relative to a stationary reference point. The display is operatively coupled with a displacer, such as actuators or a projection adjustment, that are engaged to displace the display according to the identified displacement and maintain a physical location of the visual relative to the stationary reference point (e.g., until the visual is re-rendered from the updated perspective).
