To improve responsiveness of fuel supply control, a rotary carburetor 100 has a nozzle 8 including a fuel discharge port 8a and a needle 10 disposed coaxially with the nozzle 8 and disposed with a portion inserted into the nozzle 8. The needle 10 can be displaced relative to the nozzle 8 to change an effective area of the fuel discharge port 8a. The rotary carburetor 100 has an electric motor 14 for displacing the needle 10 along an axis, and a drive mechanism component 12 interposed between the electric motor 14 and the needle 10 and converting a rotational movement of the electric motor into a linear movement.

Internal combustion engine having a starter device

An internal combustion engine has a supply channel for supplying combustion air. A throttle element is arranged in the supply channel. The engine has a starter device which enables a defined free flow cross section in the supply channel in a starting position. The starter device latches in the starting position and the latching is released by actuating an operator-controlled element. A first ramp controls the free flow cross section of the fuel port depending on the position of the throttle element. The free flow cross section of the fuel opening is controlled by a second ramp. The free flow cross section of the fuel opening, which is set using the second ramp, is greater than a flow cross section set using the first ramp for the same position of the throttle element. A favorable performance of the engine after starting thereof is achieved.

Carburetor for a hand-guided power tool and hand-guided power tool

A carburetor for a hand-guided power tool has a carburetor housing and a carburetor rotor supported rotatably in the carburetor housing about an axis of rotation. A needle is disposed on the carburetor rotor and projects into a fuel opening of the carburetor. An adjusting element is operatively connected to the needle so as adjust a position of the needle relative to the carburetor rotor. The adjusting element has an engagement contour that is to be engaged by a tool for adjusting the adjusting element. A securing contour that is fixedly connected to the carburetor rotor is provided. The securing contour, at any point of the securing contour, has a spacing to the axis of rotation of at least approximately 10 mm.

A rotary-type carburetor (1) according to the present invention includes a body (4) having a bore (2) with a circular cross section, and a valve element (6) to be contained in the bore (2). The valve element (6) rotates between a closed position where the valve passage (16) is blocked from communicating with the body passages (10a, 10b), and a fully-opened position where the valve passage (16) and the body passages (10a, 10b) are aligned. When the valve element (6) is located in an idle position, an air flowing through the body passages (10a, 10b) and the valve passage (16) is prevented from being flown into the bore end part (12). When the valve element (6) is located in a fully-opened position, a portion of the air flowing from an upstream part (10a) of the body passage is bypassed into the upstream communication part (32).
