A rotary vane pump includes a housing that includes first and second plates respectively secured to first and second opposing sides of an intermediate plate. The intermediate plate includes a bore and inlet and outlet ports. The first and second sides respectively have first and second passages that are respectively in fluid communication with the inlet and outlet ports. The first and second passages are in fluid communication with the bore. The intermediate plate is reversible with respect to the first and second plates. A rotor is arranged in the bore. The rotor supports slidable vanes that are configured to pump fluid between the inlet and outlet ports.

ISOLATION VALVE

An isolation valve includes: a housing including a first passage and a second passage; a main valve assembly including a valve disposed in the housing such that a fluid flow between the first passage and the second passage is blocked; a locking assembly disposed in the housing, and including a release element configured to open the valve and a locking element configured to close the valve; and a bobbin assembly configured to be disposed in the housing and to operate the locking assembly, and including a coil; a core disposed inside the coil and including a space therein, the space including a closed end and an opened end; and a plunger configured to move in the space by an electromagnetic force generated by the coil and to contact the locking assembly on the opened end side.

Systems and methods for vehicle fuel tank refueling

Methods and systems are provided for vehicle fuel tanks including multiple reservoirs. In one example, a method may include opening a canister purge valve of a fuel system responsive to a fuel level of a fuel tank transitioning above a first threshold fuel level, and closing the canister purge valve after flowing a pre-determined amount of fuel to the fuel tank while the canister purge valve is open.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DIAGNOSING AN EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS SYSTEM

Methods and systems are presented for diagnosing a breach of an evaporative emissions system. The methods and systems include repurposing a resonator as a vacuum reservoir to reduce a pressure of an evaporative emissions system so that it may be determined if there is or is not a breach of the evaporative emissions system.

A vehicle includes a fuel tank, a canister, a first valve, a second valve, a heater, and a controller. The fuel tank is configured to store fuel. The canister is in fluid communication with the fuel tank and is configured to receive and store evaporated fuel from the fuel tank. The first valve is disposed between the fuel tank and the canister. The second valve is disposed between the canister and ambient surroundings. The heater is disposed within the canister. The controller is programmed to, periodically initiate diagnostic tests that are configured to determine if the heater is operating properly, if the heater is unable to turn off, or if the heater is unable to turn on.

STRADDLED VEHICLE

A gas-leak-detection device for detecting a gas leakage from an evaporative emission system includes an electric-wire-connection portion and a passage connection portion that are disposed to overlap with at least one of appearance components in a vehicle when the vehicle is seen in a viewing direction, and are disposed closer to the at least one appearance component than a center plane perpendicular to the viewing direction when the vehicle is in an upright state, the center plane being one of an imaginary-lateral-center plane that is an imaginary vertical plane perpendicular to the left-right direction, an imaginary-longitudinal-center plane that is an imaginary vertical plane including a center in the front-rear direction and being perpendicular to the front-rear direction, or an imaginary-vertical-center plane that is an imaginary horizontal plane including a center in the top-bottom direction and being perpendicular to the top-bottom direction.

VAPOR CANISTER AND EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS CONTROL SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE
20220372934 · 2022-11-24 ·

A vapor canister for a vehicle evaporative emissions control system comprises a canister housing defining an internal volume for receiving therein one or more volumes of adsorbent; a fuel vapor inlet port for connecting the canister to a fuel tank; a vent port for intake of fresh air into the canister; a purge port for withdrawing fuel vapors from the canister; and a pump integrated with the canister housing. The integrated pump is actuated to provide an overpressure or underpressure in the canister. The integrated pump can be used for various operating modes, such as e.g. canister purging, leak detection diagnostic, refueling or engine shut down.

Leak diagnosis system using active purge pump and leak diagnosis method using active purge pump

An evaporated gas leak diagnosis method using an active purge pump is provided to detect a leak of the evaporated gas from a canister in a fuel system. The method includes diagnosing a failure of an active purge pump based on a signal generated by a pressure sensor installed on a vent line that extends from the canister to the atmosphere. The active purge pump is mounted on a purge line for connecting the canister with an intake pipe.

Dual purge ejector and dual purge system using the same

A dual purge ejector and a dual purge system using the same are provided. A first end of a main body is fully open and an ejecting end of a nozzle is located proximate to the opening hole. Therefore, even if the ejector is disconnected from an adapter, negative pressure is not formed in a main body, to prevent discharge of fuel evaporation gas into the atmosphere and a failure of the dual purge system may be reliably diagnosed.
