ARRANGEMENT FOR REGENERATING AN ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER
An arrangement is provided for use with an internal combustion engine. The arrangement includes an intake tract for the internal combustion engine and a valve that is fluidly connected to the intake tract. An activated carbon filter is located upstream from the intake tract and the valve. The valve is connected to the carbon filter by an intake line. When the valve is open, fluid can flow from the activated carbon filter into the intake tract. A pressure sensor measures upstream pressure (p1) in the intake line. A pump helps generate the pressure (p1) in the intake line. The valve is connected to the intake tract so they cooperate together to form a cavity that is connected to the intake line such that when the valve is closed, the pressure in the cavity is the pressure (p1).
CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY
A control valve assembly includes a housing accommodating an electromagnetic coil unit which is disposed in an in-housing passage and drives a valve element to open and close the in-housing passage. An inflow-outflow member is coupled to the housing, and includes an inflow portion having an inflow passage through which evaporative fuel flows toward the in-housing passage, and an outflow portion having an outflow passage through which the evaporative fuel from the in-housing passage flows. The outflow passage in the outflow portion and the inflow passage in the inflow portion communicate with each other through the in-housing passage.
Fuel tank pressure regulator
A venting apparatus is provided for regulating discharge of fuel vapor from a fuel tank and admission of outside air into the fuel tank.
Valve control system configured to control an opening and closing of a valve device
A controller controls a valve device for opening and closing of a passage to control a flow of evaporative fuel evaporating and flowing from a fuel tank. The valve device includes a valve body housed in the passage to open and close the passage, a biasing member biasing the valve body to close the passage, and a driver driving the valve body to open the fuel passage. The controller includes a detector detecting load of the driver and a determiner to determine the position of the valve body. The determiner determines that the passage is open when a magnitude of the change of the driver load is equal to or greater than a threshold value. The controller accurately detects an open valve position without detecting an internal pressure change of the fuel tank.
Closed tank system
A closed tank system includes: a fuel tank; a canister adapted to adsorb evaporative fuel generated in the fuel tank; a fill-up limiting valve provided inside the fuel tank so as to be communicated with the evaporative fuel discharge passage and adapted to operate to close the evaporative fuel discharge passage when a fuel level reaches a predetermined full tank liquid level; a shut-off valve adapted to operate to open or close the evaporative fuel discharge passage; a fuel remaining amount sensor adapted to detect a remaining amount of fuel; and a hardware processor that causes a control section to carry out control for allowing the shut-off valve to be opened or closed. The hardware processor causes the control section to inhibit the control for allowing the shut-off valve to be opened when an engine is in operation and the detected remaining amount of fuel exceeds a predetermined threshold.
EVAPORATED FUEL PROCESSING DEVICE
An evaporated fuel processing device may include a canister retaining evaporated fuel in a fuel tank, a vent passage communicating the canister and an intake passage of an engine, a first pump that discharges mixed gas of air and the evaporated fuel to the intake passage via the vent passage, a detector that detects a first pressure value indicating a pressure of the mixed gas discharged by the first pump, a memory storing pressure value-concentration correlated data indicating mixed gas, an acquisition unit that acquires a third pressure value indicating an air pressure detected by the detector in a case where the air containing substantially no evaporated fuel is discharged by the first pump, and an estimation unit that estimates a concentration of the evaporated fuel contained in the mixed gas discharged by the first pump by using the first and third pressure values and the pressure value-concentration correlated data.
Evaporated fuel processing devices
An evaporated fuel processing device includes a fuel tank, a canister, an atmospheric passage, a vapor passage, an intake pipe, a purge passage, a purge pump, and a flow rate control valve. The evaporated fuel is desorbed utilizing only negative pressure in the intake pipe when sufficient negative pressure is generated in the intake pipe. The purge pump is driven to desorb the evaporated from the canister when sufficient negative pressure is not generated in the intake pipe. The purge pump and the flow rate control valve may be provided in the purge passage. The purge pump is a vortex pump through which the gas can flow even when drive is stopped. The minimum cross-sectional area of the internal space of the flow passage of the purge pump is equal to or larger than the minimum cross-sectional area of the internal space of the other parts of the purge passage.
FLUID CONTROL DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A fluid control device for an internal combustion engine, includes: plural fluid control valves each including a chamber, a first port via which fluid is introduced to the chamber, a second port via which fluid is guided out from the chamber, and a solenoid valve part opening and closing the second port with respect to the chamber; one support member for supporting and fixing the fluid control valves to a vehicle; and a branched passage having plural inlet portions communicating with the second port of the fluid control valves and an outlet portion guiding out the fluid introduced from the inlet portions, the branched passage being formed integrally with an interior of the support member. Thus, due to the branched passage being formed from the support member itself without requiring a joint member having a special shape, it is possible to cut the number of components and save installation space.
Valve assembly for a fuel tank
A valve assembly for a fuel tank includes a cage having a seat that defines an aperture and a spring latch that holds a poppet in an intermediate-open position, which spaces the poppet from a seat to allow fluid communication through an aperture. A method of operating a valve assembly due to a first-time fueling event is disclosed.
Fuel vapor purge system
A fuel vapor purge system includes: a fuel tank; a canister; a passage component that defines an intake passage of an internal-combustion engine; a purge pump pumping vapor fuel; and a valve device having a valve object, a main part having an internal passage, an inflow port through which the vapor fuel pumped from the canister flows into the main part, an outflow port connected with the inflow port through the internal passage and being opened to the intake passage, and a leak port connected with the inflow port through the internal passage and being opened to outside of the main part. The leak port has a leak preventive structure which prevents the vapor fuel from leaking to outside when the valve device is attached to the passage component such that the vapor fuel is able to flow into the intake passage.
