Evaporated fuel processing device
An evaporated fuel processing device that includes a fuel tank; a vapor passage through which evaporated fuel generated from a fuel in the fuel tank flows; a closing valve configured to open and close the vapor passage; a concentration sensor configured to detect a concentration of the evaporated fuel in the vapor passage downstream of the closing valve; and a controller. When the closing valve moves toward an open side in the closed state, the controller may specify a valve-opening-start position of the closing valve based on a concentration detected by the concentration sensor, wherein the valve-opening-start position is a position where the closing valve transitions from the closed state to the opened state.
PUMP FOR EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS SYSTEM
A rotary vane pump includes a housing that includes first and second plates respectively secured to first and second opposing sides of an intermediate plate. The intermediate plate includes a bore and inlet and outlet ports. The first and second sides respectively have first and second passages that are respectively in fluid communication with the inlet and outlet ports. The first and second passages are in fluid communication with the bore. The intermediate plate is reversible with respect to the first and second plates. A rotor is arranged in the bore. The rotor supports slidable vanes that are configured to pump fluid between the inlet and outlet ports.
STRADDLED VEHICLE
A straddled vehicle on which a part used for performing an inspection for a leak of gas from an evaporative emission system is mounted such that a weight balance of the straddled vehicle is maintained and mass concentrates includes a canister-integrated-leak-detection device that detects a leak of gas from an evaporative emission system. The canister-integrated-leak-detection device configured in a state where at least one of a vent valve or a suction pump is integrated with a canister is supported via a common attaching member to intersect with at least one of a virtual-left-right-center plane that includes a center in a left-right direction and is perpendicular to the left-right direction, a virtual-front-rear-center plane that includes a center in a front-rear direction and is perpendicular to the front-rear direction, or a virtual-up-down-center plane that includes a center in an up-down direction and is perpendicular to the up-down direction in the vehicle.
STRADDLED VEHICLE
A vehicle includes at least one of an electric vent valve configured to open and close an outside-air-introduction passage of a canister or an electric suction pump configured. to suck gas in a gas passage through which the gas flows. The canister and at least one of the vent valve or the suction pump are disposed such that at least one of a virtual-left-right-center plane that includes a center in a left-right direction and is perpendicular to the left-right direction, a virtual-front-rear-center plane that includes a center in a front-rear direction and is perpendicular to the front-rear direction, or a virtual-up-down-center plane that includes a center in an up-down direction and is perpendicular to the up-down direction is located between a gravity center of the canister and at least one of a gravity center of the vent valve or a gravity center of the suction pump.
Evaporative emissions control for a vehicle
An all-terrain vehicle (“ATV”) comprising a frame, a plurality of ground engaging members supporting the frame, a straddle seat coupled to the frame for supporting at least one rider, a powertrain assembly operably coupled to the ground engaging members, the powertrain assembly comprising an engine, a storage container coupled to the frame at a position rearward of the straddle seat, an exterior surface of the storage container including an indentation, and a fuel system fluidly coupled to the engine, the fuel system including a fuel tank, a fuel vapor line fluidly coupling the fuel tank to the engine, and an evaporation canister positioned along the fuel vapor line, wherein the evaporation canister is positioned within the indentation in an exterior surface of the storage container.
Leak diagnosis system using active purge pump and leak diagnosis method using active purge pump
An evaporated gas leak diagnosis method using an active purge pump is provided to detect a leak of the evaporated gas from a canister in a fuel system. The method includes diagnosing a failure of an active purge pump based on a signal generated by a pressure sensor installed on a vent line that extends from the canister to the atmosphere. The active purge pump is mounted on a purge line for connecting the canister with an intake pipe.
Evaporative emissions control for a vehicle
A fuel system comprising a fuel tank, a mixing volume configured to mix fuel vapor and air, the mixing volume comprising an outlet configured to be fluidly coupled to an engine, and a fuel vapor line configured to fluidly couple the fuel tank to the mixing volume.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING VAPOR STORAGE CANISTER RESTRICTION
Methods and systems for determining pressure changes across at least two fuel vapor storage canisters are described. The methods and systems may include determining the pressure changes via a sole pressure sensor. In one example, fuel vapor canister bypass passages are provided to determine pressure values at a plurality of positions within an evaporative emissions system.
FAILURE DIAGNOSIS METHOD AND SYSTEM OF DUAL PURGE SYSTEM
A failure diagnosis method and a failure diagnosis system of a dual purge system may determine whether a closed stuck failure or an opened stuck failure occurs in a line forming a dual purge system by measuring a pressure in a negative pressure formation device and comparing the corresponding pressure with a predetermined reference value when a purge valve of the dual purge system is in an opened or closed state, and may determine whether the failure occurs in components related to a secondary purge line in the dual purge system in which it is difficult to determine whether the failure occurs in a conventional failure diagnosis method of a single purge system in a simple method.
Fuel tank isolation valve for vehicle
A fuel tank isolation valve for a vehicle is provided. A valve opening operation or a valve closing operation is performed using guide protrusions configured to move along a guide slot, in response to an upward or downward movement of a plunger. The discharge of a battery is prevented. An abrupt change in the pressure of a fuel tank is prevented.
