SUPER-PLEATED VEHICLE AIR FILTER
An apparatus and method are provided for an air filter configured to be mounted onto an air inlet of an internal combustion engine. The air filter comprises a first end cap configured to couple with a base which is configured to support a conventional air filter and provide an interface between the conventional air filter and the air inlet. A filter medium which is relatively thicker than the conventional air filter is configured to remove particulate matter and other contaminates from an incoming airstream. A second end cap is configured to couple with a cover which is configured to fasten the conventional air filter and the base onto the air inlet, such that the incoming airstream is directed through the filter medium. The air filter is configured to be installed in place of the conventional air filter without necessitating alteration of the base and cover.
RADIAL AIR CLEANER
An air cleaner for an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The air cleaner may include a housing defining an interior and having a first end and a second end opposite the first end. The housing may include an air inlet configured to be fluidly coupled to an air intake of the internal combustion engine and an air outlet configured to be fluidly coupled to a compressor of the internal combustion engine. The housing may include a general cylindrical shaped section extending from the first end and an inverse taper section located distally from the generally cylindrical shaped section and extending towards the second end. A diameter of the inverse taper section may increase from a first end towards the second end.
Cover rigidity reinforcement member of air cleaner and air cleaner including the same
An air cleaner includes an intake filter seated on an air cleaner body, an air cleaner cover spaced apart from the intake filter and coupled to the air cleaner body, and a cover rigidity reinforcement member detachably coupled to the intake filter and configured to restrict displacement toward the intake filter. The intake filter includes a non-woven fabric configured to filter foreign matters of introduced outside air, and a filter frame surrounding and fixing a circumference of the non-woven fabric.
Filter with interlocking housing interface
A filter element includes first filter media, second filter media, a frame, and a seal member. The frame is coupled to the first filter media and the second filter media, the frame securing the first filter media and the second filter media into a V-shape. The seal member is attached to and extends from the frame. The seal member includes a U-shaped channel structured to receive a ridge of a housing when the filter element is installed in the housing. The seal member is structured to form a seal between the filter element and the housing when the filter element is installed in the housing.
AIR CLEANER
There is provided an air cleaner configured to be disposed inside a vehicle body frame, the air cleaner including: an air cleaner case in which an intake chamber is formed; an air filter disposed in the intake chamber; an inlet tube configured to take in air to the intake chamber; and an outlet tube configured to send out the air from the intake chamber. The inlet tube extends in a front-rear direction. The inlet tube has a bottom wall curved downward in a side view to form a concave curved portion below a discharge port of the inlet tube. The concave curved portion is formed with a drain hole.
Controlling vehicle exhaust
An air intake system for a vehicle comprises an exterior air inlet disposed on the vehicle that receives air from an exterior of the vehicle. An air outlet is disposed on the vehicle that supplies air to an engine of the vehicle. A conduit network connects the exterior air inlet and the air outlet. An interior air device disposed on the vehicle is connected to the conduit network allowing air from an interior of the vehicle into the engine. A base plate with an opening is attached to the conduit network. A hatch connected the base plate allows air from the interior of the vehicle through the opening.
AIR FILTERING ASSEMBLY FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
An air filter system for a motor vehicle includes a common housing, first and second D-shaped filter elements and a common cover. The common housing defines a first airflow chamber extending between a first inlet duct and a first outlet duct and a second airflow chamber extending between a second inlet duct and a second outlet duct. The first airflow chamber is fluidly separated from the second airflow chamber. The first D-shaped filter element is disposed in the first airflow chamber for filtering air passing through the first airflow chamber. The second D-shaped filter element is disposed in the second airflow chamber for filtering air passing through the second airflow chamber. The common cover is secured to the housing and closes the first airflow chamber and the second airflow chamber.
INLET FILTER HOUSING HAVING COMPONENTS INCLUDING PORTIONS OF FILTER SYSTEM THAT COLLECTIVELY FORM HOUSING
An inlet filter housing includes a plurality of components that collectively form a complete filtering and conditioning system for filtering and conditioning a fluid along a housing flow path. Each component is fitted within an external structure of an International Organization of Standards (ISO) shipping container, which provides a rectangular cuboid enclosure. Each component includes operative structure of at least one of: a) only a portion of an axial extent of the filtering and conditioning system, and b) only a portion of a lateral cross-sectional area of the housing flow path.
INTEGRATED SERVICE COVER AND FILTER ELEMENT UTILIZING BAYONET FEATURE FOR ALIGNMENT
A filter assembly includes a housing, a cover, and a filter element. The housing defines a pocket. The cover includes a bayonet sized to be received within the pocket. The bayonet defines an elongated opening. The filter element is sized to be received within the housing. The filter element includes a media pack and a filter shell coupled to the media pack. The filter shell includes a trunnion that is sized to be received within both the pocket and the elongated opening to interlock the cover and the filter element such that removal of the cover from the housing initiates removal of the filter element.
Bracketing Systems for Ducts and Hoses in a Vehicle's Engine Compartment
As engines are developing more specific power than earlier versions, the engines move more severely in the engine compartment during torque changes than prior engines. A more robust system to retain engine ducts and tubes is desired, particularly for situations where one end of the duct is mounted to a sub-component in the engine compartment and another end to the engine. A bracketing system for a powerplant for a vehicle has an engine mounted to a vehicle frame via engine mounts, an air cleaner mounted to the vehicle frame, a duct fluidly coupling the air cleaner with the engine, a first bracket coupled to and wrapped around a portion of an engine component, and a second bracket coupled to the first bracket. The first bracket has an orifice for the tie straps to secure the engine coolant tubes and the second bracket is curved to accept the duct.
