The engine vacuum draws this mixture into the intake manifold to provide an ideal fuel mixture for the engine.

Self-regulating vents for vehicles

A vehicle is disclosed that includes a hood defining at least one opening, and a vent that is positioned within the at least one opening. The vent is reconfigurable between a closed configuration, in which the vent substantially (if not entirely) prevents air flow through the at least one opening in the hood, and at least one open configuration, in which the vent allows air flow through the at least one opening in the hood. The vent includes an integrated shape memory material such that, upon actuation, the shape memory material deforms to thereby reconfigure the vent.

The connecting piece may have a securing groove extending in the circumferential direction, the tubular body may have a securing slot aligned radially to the securing groove when the connecting piece is inserted into the tubular body, and the securing clamp may have a securing web sticking out radially to the inside, and, in the securing position, radially engages with the securing groove through the securing slot, and, in the release position, does not radially engage with the securing groove. The tubular body may have at least one guide groove, and the securing clamp may have at least one guide web sticking out radially and, at least in the securing position, radially engages with the associated guide groove.

INTAKE STRUCTURE OF VEHICLE AND METHOD OF MOUNTING NIPPLE TO INTAKE STRUCTURE

An intake structure of a vehicle is provided to prevent engine oil from flowing back along a nipple. The structure includes an intake hose which is mounted between an air cleaner and a compressor of a turbo charger. A pocket part, in which the oil comprised in a blow-by gas through the nipple is collected, is formed on the inner sidewall surface of the intake hose. The intake structure prevents the oil existing in the recirculated blow-by gas from flowing into a fresh air nipple.

High compression boosting and water generation

A method and system for condensing water for injection into an internal combustion engine to increase the engine's fuel economy and performance while reducing emissions. A volume of ambient air is drawn through an intake valve into a sealable chamber. The intake valve is closed and the ambient air compressed within the sealed sealable chamber and thereafter vented through an exit valve to be contained in a cooling section. The cooling section comprises a port and a cooling device. The cooling device, which in one embodiment comprises a refrigeration unit, cools the ambient air contained within the cooling channel to condense water vapor present in the ambient air into liquid water. The liquid water is drained from the cooling channel through the port and collected in a reservoir. Liquid water from the reservoir is then injected into at least one combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine.
