AIR CLEANER FOR VEHICLES
An air cleaner for vehicles includes: a case having an inlet, through which outside air is introduced, and an outlet, through which filtered air is discharged; and a filter installed in an inner space of the case, configured to filter the outside air introduced through the inlet, and including a filtration member, wherein the filtration member is formed in an “∩” shape open downwards and is configured to allow the outside air to pass therethrough in a downward direction and in a lateral direction.
APPARATUS FOR AMPLIFYING SOUND WAVES
An apparatus of amplifying sound waves may include a metamaterial structure having a metamaterial inside thereof, an inlet through which air flows into the metamaterial structure, and a penetration portion formed to penetrate a portion of one side of the metamaterial structure, a membrane member coupled to the penetration portion, and a resonance member surrounding the membrane member and coupled to the metamaterial structure and including a space inside thereof and a discharge port fluidically communicating with an outside thereof and the internal space.
Vehicle air cleaner
An air cleaner for a vehicle includes a case having an air inlet pipe and an air outlet pipe. A cover is removably attached to the case for covering an open top portion of the case. With the cover attached to the case an interior of the air cleaner defines a flow passage directed through the air cleaner from the air inlet pipe to the air outlet pipe. A filter element is received in the interior and is arranged over the flow passage. The flow passage immediately downstream of the filter element includes an elbow-shaped section for redirecting airflow from the filter element toward the air outlet pipe. The elbow-shaped section is provided with at least one first guide rib shaped correspondingly to the elbow-shaped section. The flow passage upstream of the air outlet pipe defines a branching section formed as an acoustic resonator for reducing air intake noise.
Air duct of an internal combustion engine
An air duct of an internal combustion engine has an inner pipe providing a flow channel and a housing with a first housing part and a second housing part, wherein the inner pipe is arranged in the housing. The first housing part and the second housing part enclose a chamber between the inner pipe and the housing. The inner pipe has at least one section with perforations in a wall of the inner pipe, wherein the perforations completely penetrate the wall of the inner pipe. A cylindrical acoustic component at least partially encloses the at least one section of the inner pipe at an outer side of the inner pipe. A wall of the cylindrical acoustic component is provided, at least in sections thereof, with continuous openings. The flow channel is acoustically connected via the perforations and via the continuous openings to the chamber.
Method and system for diagnosing an evaporative emissions system
Methods and systems are presented for diagnosing a breach of an evaporative emissions system. The methods and systems include repurposing a resonator as a vacuum reservoir to reduce a pressure of an evaporative emissions system so that it may be determined if there is or is not a breach of the evaporative emissions system.
Resonator
A resonator includes: an inner pipe having first openings penetrated into an outer peripheral surface thereof from an inner peripheral surface thereof and second openings spaced apart from the first opening; a first cover adapted to allow a first resonant space to be formed between the outer peripheral surface of the inner pipe and the inner peripheral surface thereof, the first resonant space communicating with the internal space of the inner pipe through the first openings; and a second cover adapted to allow a second resonant space to be formed between the outer peripheral surface of the inner pipe and the inner peripheral surface thereof, the second resonant space communicating with the internal space of the inner pipe through the second openings.
RESONATOR INSERT FOR INSERTION INTO AN INTAKE PIPE OF A TURBOCHARGER, TURBOCHARGER AND RESONATOR
A resonator insert (14) is provided for coaxial and sectionally radially spaced insertion in an intake pipe of a turbocharger (10). The resonator insert (14) has a tube section (141) with a wall having circumferentially extending, axially adjacent through-slots (142). The wall of the tube section (141) carries at least one radially outwardly directed, axially extending lamella (144) crossing the through-slots (142). A turbocharger with an upstream resonator also is provided.
Outboard machine
This outboard machine has: a V-type engine (engine) in which a plurality of cylinders are arranged in a V-shape when viewed in a plan view; and a cover that covers the engine. The engine has a plurality of intake ports that form pairs in a V-shape inside the plurality of cylinders in a plan view and a concave space is formed between the plurality of intake ports. The cover has therein an intake path that guides air to the intake port, and is also provided with, at a position that is adjacent to the intake path and enters the concave space, a silencer that attenuates the sound during intake.
Fluid pipe arrangement
The invention relates to a fluid pipe arrangement (100), in particular for a charged air duct of an internal combustion engine, comprising a housing (10) having a longitudinal extension (L). The housing (10) includes a first fluid duct (20) having a first fluid inlet (22) and a first fluid outlet (24) for a first fluid and at least one second fluid duct (30) having a second fluid inlet (32) and a second fluid outlet (34) for a second fluid. Thermal insulation means (40) are provided between at least a portion (38) of the second fluid duct (30) and at least a portion (28) the first fluid duct (20).
