Engine
An engine capable of reducing the content of hydrocarbon in exhaust gas is provided. When viewed parallel to cylinder center axes, tangential virtual lines extending from endpoints of curved port central axes along tangent lines of the endpoints pass intake valve ports, straight port central axes extending from the endpoints of the curved port central axes are further away from a partition wall than the tangential virtual lines, and intake air bent through curved ports passes straight ports and is sucked through the intake valve ports along the wall between the cylinders.
ENGINE
A cylinder block including: a plurality of cylinders; a cylinder head attached on the cylinder block and including, for each of the cylinders, an intake port extending from a combustion chamber upward and obliquely relative to an axis of the cylinder; a direct injector disposed at a position on an outer side of the intake port in a cylinder radial direction and directly injecting fuel into the combustion chamber; a port injector disposed at a position on a same side as the direct injector relative to the intake port, and injecting fuel into the intake port are provided. The intake port includes: a valve seat provided at an intake air inlet opened to the combustion chamber; and an arc portion protruding downward in a center area of the intake port on an upstream side of the valve seat, and an injection direction of the port injector is orientated in a direction in which the fuel injected from the port injector passes through a lower area of the arc portion.
Automobile with fuel injection controller
On start of an engine, a difference ΔPm between a first intake pipe pressure Pm1 and a second intake pipe pressure Pm2 is computed. Reduction correction of wall surface deposition correction is prohibited until the state that the difference ΔPm is equal to or less than a reference value ΔPmref continues over a predetermined number of strokes nref of the engine. After the state that the difference ΔPm is equal to or less than the reference value ΔPmref continues over the predetermined number of strokes nref of the engine, permission is given for the reduction correction.
INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
The present disclosure is intended to provide an internal combustion engine that can inhibit fuel from adhering to a piston and can reduce generation of soot. An internal combustion engine includes a piston, a cylinder accommodating the piston, and an injector including a nozzle that has a plurality of nozzle holes configured to inject fuel into the cylinder from above the cylinder. Among the plurality of nozzle holes, a sixth nozzle hole an axial direction of which is the most deflected toward the piston has a nozzle hole diameter larger than nozzle hole diameters of the other nozzle holes, and the nozzle hole diameter of the sixth nozzle hole corresponds to at least 20% of the total of the nozzle hole diameters of the other nozzle holes.
Engine intake structure
An intake structure of the present invention is applied to a multi-cylinder engine including an electrically controlled throttle integrally including a throttle valve configured to adjust an amount of air to be supplied to the engine and an electronic control unit configured to control the throttle valve. The engine intake structure includes: an air cleaner configured to purify the air; and an intake manifold configured to distribute the air purified by the air cleaner to an intake port of each cylinder of the multi-cylinder engine. The electrically controlled throttle is attached to the intake manifold such that the electronic control unit is separated outward in a radial direction of an engine rotation shaft.
Fuel and air charge forming device
In at least some implementations, a charge forming device for a combustion engine includes a throttle body and a throttle valve. The throttle body has a throttle bore with an inlet through which air flows into the throttle bore and an outlet from which a fuel and air mixture exits the throttle bore. The throttle bore has a throat between the inlet and outlet and the throat has a reduced flow area compared to at least one of the inlet and outlet. The throttle valve has a valve head received within the throat of the throttle bore and movable relative to the throttle body between a first position and a second position wherein the flow area between the valve head and the throttle body is greater when the valve head is in the second position than in the first position.
PORT INJECTION ENGINE
A port injection engine, in which injected fuel readily vaporizes inside suction ports, includes: a suction port; a suction valve; and a port injector that injects fuel to an inner peripheral surface of the suction port. When the fuel is burned in a predetermined combustion cycle, an injection start of a fuel injection period is set within an end part of a valve opening period before the suction valve is fully closed, during a combustion cycle previous to the predetermined combustion cycle. The end part of the valve opening period is preferably set from 50° to 20° before the suction valve is fully closed at a crank angle.
CYLINDER HEAD FOR AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A cylinder head for an internal combustion engine, in particular a hydrogen-powered internal combustion engine, includes a cylinder head system that includes an intake duct and a fuel inlet aperture, the fuel inlet aperture opening into the intake duct, an injector holder that is detachably connected to the cylinder head system and that includes an injector receiving borehole, an injector that is accommodated in the injector receiving borehole and braced against the injector holder with the aid of clamping means, and a tubular plug-in piece that is situated between the injector holder and the cylinder head system in such a way that a discharge opening of the injector and the fuel inlet aperture of the cylinder head system are fluidically connected to one another via the via the plug-in piece.
