Fuel injector with locating pins, internal combustion engine using the same, and method
A fuel injector includes a nozzle body configured to be inserted into a fuel injector receiving bore of the internal combustion engine along a nozzle body axis; a valve housing held in fixed relationship to the nozzle body; and a first locating pin and a second locating pin each extending from the valve housing. The first locating pin extends from a first locating pin fixed end which is fixed to the valve housing to a first locating pin free end. The second locating pin extends from a second locating pin fixed end which is fixed to the valve housing to a second locating pin free end. The first locating pin and the second locating pin elastically deform when inserted into the bore, thereby preventing rotational movement of the fuel injector about the nozzle body axis.
Fuel injector assembly having duct structure
A fuel injector assembly for an engine. The engine includes a cylinder head defining a through-hole. The fuel injector assembly includes an insert, having a first end and a second end, configured to be received within the through-hole and coupled to the cylinder head. The insert defines a bore extending from the first end to the second end. The fuel injector assembly further includes a fuel injector including a plurality of orifices, received within the bore of the insert; and a duct structure including a plurality of ducts, coupled to the insert such that the plurality of ducts align with the plurality of orifices to at least partially receive one or more fuel jets from the plurality of orifices of the fuel injector.
Internal combustion engine
An internal combustion engine includes two intake openings, opened and closed by intake valves; exhaust openings opened and closed by exhaust valves; a fuel injector having a plurality of nozzle holes; and mask parts having wall surfaces extending along outer edges of the intake openings toward the inside of the combustion chamber. The fuel injector arranged wherein the nozzle holes are positioned at the opposite exhaust opening sides from the intake openings, and the plurality of nozzle holes include a first nozzle hole, injecting in a direction with the smallest angle from a plane perpendicular to the axial direction of the cylinder. The wall surface formed wherein a height in a first nozzle hole ejection region positioned in a range of injection of a fuel spray from the first nozzle hole, when viewed in the axial direction, is lower than a height in the first nozzle hole ejection region.
INJECTOR HOLDER
The present invention aims for smoothly aligning an injector and an injector holder in a circumferential direction when the injector is assembled to the injector holder. In an injector holder 1 having an injector cup 2 for inserting an injector 8 into the injector cup 2 and an annular flange 3 projecting outward from an opening edge of the injector cup 2, an engaging recess piece 4 is extended from the annular flange 3, the engaging recess piece 4 having a recess 6 capable of being engaged with an engaging protrusion 16 protruded from the injector 8 for positioning the injector 8, and a claw portion 7 extending in a direction of assembling the injector 8 is projected from the tip of the engaging recess piece 4.
FILTER FOR FUEL INJECTORS
A filter for filtering hydraulic fluid in a hydraulically actuated fuel injector. The filter includes a first disc structure and a second disc structure disposed axially spaced apart from the first disc structure. The second disc structure is also disposed parallel to the first disc structure. The filter further includes an intermediate structure extending from the first disc structure to the second disc structure. The intermediate structure includes a first surface and a second surface disposed opposite and parallel to the first surface. The intermediate structure defines a plurality of passages extending from the first surface to the second surface. Each of the plurality of passages is perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the filter.
FUEL INJECTOR WITH A LOCATING PIN, INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE USING THE SAME, AND METHOD
A fuel injector includes a nozzle body to be inserted into a fuel injector receiving bore along a nozzle body axis; a valve housing; and a locating pin extending from the valve housing along a locating pin axis. The locating pin axis is eccentric to the nozzle body axis. The locating pin has a width in a first direction radially relative to the nozzle body axis and through the locating pin axis and a length in a second direction perpendicular to the width such that the width is less than the length. The locating pin includes a first crush rib and a second crush rib which are diametrically opposed at the length of the locating pin and such that the first crush rib and the second crush rib plastically deform when inserted into the locating bore, thereby preventing rotational movement of the fuel injector about the nozzle body axis.
ARRANGEMENT OF A FUEL INJECTION VALVE ON A FUEL DISTRIBUTOR OF AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
The invention relates to an arrangement for connecting at least one fuel injection valve with a fuel distributor of a fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine, which fuel distributor is detachably fastened to a cylinder head, wherein the at least one fuel injection valve is detachably fastened by means of a fixing element to a mounting element of the fuel distributor. It is provided that a non-cylinder-facing surface of the mounting element of the fuel distributor and a cylinder-facing surface of the fixing element, in the assembled state of the cylinder head and fuel distributor and also the fuel injection valve, are configured as contact surfaces, by means of which, through attachment of the fixing element to the fuel injection valve, it is possible to bring about an axial fixing and a radial orientation of the fuel injection valve in the cylinder head and in the mounting element of the fuel distribution rail.
