SYSTEM FOR IMPROVED STARTING OF A POWERED DEVICE INCLUDING ONE OR MORE THRESHOLD CONDITIONS
In at least some implementations, a system for communicating threshold conditions for use of a powered device to a user, includes an engine, a controller coupled to the engine to control starting of the engine and a first indicator associated with a first threshold condition. The first indicator has a first state when the threshold condition is not satisfied and the first indicator has a second state when the threshold condition is satisfied, and the first indicator is coupled to the controller so that the controller is responsive to a change of the state of the first indicator, and wherein the controller is adapted to provide information for display that is indicative of the state of the first indicator.
CARBON MONOXIDE SENSOR FOR AN ENGINE ASSEMBLY
An engine assembly includes an internal combustion engine and a carbon monoxide (CO) sensor unit. The CO sensor unit includes a CO sensor controller including a CO sensing circuit configured to detect a level of CO and a shutdown circuit. The shutdown circuit is configured to receive a detected level of CO and calculate a trailing window average of the detected level of CO. The trailing window average includes an average of the detected level of CO over a predetermined sampling window. The shutdown circuit is further configured to determine whether to initiate a shutdown of the internal combustion engine based on at least the calculated trailing window average and a predetermined trailing window average threshold and initiate the shutdown of the internal combustion engine based on determining that the trailing window average exceeds the predetermined trailing window average threshold.
Start switch device
A start switch device includes a start button configured to send a command to start or stop a vehicle drive device, a biometric sensor arranged on the start button for reading a biometric information of an operator to operate an operating surface of the start button, a light source configured to emit an illuminating light from an inside of the start button toward the operating surface, and a design part arranged around the biometric sensor on the operating surface and configured to define a design on the operating surface by the illuminating light transmitted therethrough.
ENGINE
An engine includes an engine stop switch for stopping the engine, and a cooling part included in a holding portion or passage of a cooling liquid. The engine stop switch is placed at the cooling part or at a peripheral part of the cooling part.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR RESTARTING AN ENGINE
Systems and methods for operating a hybrid vehicle are presented. In one example, an integrated starter/generator (ISG) is operated in a speed control mode after an engine stop request. The ISG is prevented from stopping while engine rotational speed is greater than a threshold engine rotational speed so that the engine may be restarted via the ISG.
Methods and system for controlling an engine
Systems and methods for operating a hybrid vehicle are described. In one example, the automatic engine stopping may be inhibited so that an engine may be restarted during change of mind conditions without generating a large driveline torque disturbance. The engine stopping may be inhibited based on a inhibit engine pull-down torque threshold.
Apparatus and method for optimizing engine restarts
Methods and systems are described for optimizing engine restarts. In one aspect, the system includes an engine, a brake pedal sensor, and a controller. The controller is configured to shut off the engine when a vehicle stops during an Idle Stop and Go (ISG) operation. The controller operates the engine to shut off during the ISG operation in response to detecting the vehicle being stopped. The controller detects a driving condition indicating that the engine is required to be on. The controller operates the engine to turn on based on the driving condition. The controller detects force satisfying a second threshold at the brake pedal based on the brake pedal sensor. The controller operates the engine to maintain an engine-off state in response to detecting force satisfying the second threshold at the brake pedal based on the brake pedal sensor.
TIP OVER ENGINE LOCKOUT SYSTEM
A system for preventing an engine included in a work machine from restarting, after the work machine is tipped over. A sensor included in the work machine is configured to detect a tipping incident. If a tipping incident is detected, the sensor sends out a signal configured to shut down the engine and a tilt signal configured to prevent the engine from restarting. The engine is only restarted if certain steps are undertaken by an operator and a reset switch is activated.
Power control apparatus and vehicle having the same
The disclosure relates to a power control apparatus and a vehicle having the same. The vehicle includes a storage, a plurality of loads configured to perform at least one function, a power control apparatus configured to cut off power supplied to the plurality of loads, respectively, and a controller configured to identify at least one load supplied with the power through the power control apparatus during execution of a parking mode for a preset period, and to match operation information of the identified at least one load with identification information of the at least one load and store it in the storage.
Remote user interface commanded vehicle interior sanitization
A vehicle comprising an interior; a heat source in thermal communication with the interior; a source of ultraviolet light disposed to emit the ultraviolet light into the interior; and a controller in communication with the heat source and the source of the ultraviolet light, the controller configured to cause (i) the heat source to increase a temperature of the interior, (ii) the source of the ultraviolet light to emit the ultraviolet light into the interior, or (iii) both (i) and (ii) upon receiving a command from a remote user interface. The vehicle can further include a combustion engine that combusts fuel to propel the vehicle. The vehicle can further include a battery in electrical communication with the source of the ultraviolet light and in communication with the controller, the battery having a voltage.
