A starting control device for an internal combustion engine is provided with a hard cranking device and a soft cranking device that are respectively capable of and incapable of cranking the internal combustion engine to a target idle rotation speed. The starting control device includes: a starting mode determination unit determining whether to carry out starting in a non-combustion pressure mode whereby starting is carried out with the hard cranking device, or in a combustion pressure combination mode whereby starting is carried out through cranking with the soft cranking device while using a combustion pressure generated by supplying fuel to the internal combustion engine in combination; and an intake air amount control unit making an amount of intake air during cranking differ between a case where starting is carried out in the non-combustion pressure mode and a case where starting is carried out in the combustion pressure combination mode.

METHOD OF STARTING AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE OF A HYBRID VEHICLE
20170217426 · 2017-08-03 · ·

A method of automatically starting an internal combustion engine of a hybrid vehicle includes defining a rotational engine speed profile to represent a desired engine speed during a starting event with a hybrid system controller, and communicating the rotational engine speed profile to an engine controller. The internal combustion engine is rotated with an electric propulsion motor of the hybrid vehicle. A spark correction offset is calculated with the engine controller based on the rotational engine speed profile. The internal combustion engine is fired with the calculated spark correction offset for a pre-determined number of firing events, with the engine controller, as the rotational speed of the engine increases. The rotational speed of the internal combustion engine is controlled with the hybrid system controller after the pre-determined number of firing events.

CONTROL DEVICE FOR VEHICLE, AND CONTROL METHOD FOR VEHICLE

A control device for a vehicle includes an opening degree sensor to detect an opening degree of a wastegate valve disposed in a bypass passage bypassing a turbine. Circuitry is configured to stop an internal combustion engine while the vehicle is driven by a motor in a motor drive mode. The circuitry is configured to calculate a target opening degree of the wastegate valve to be larger than a maximum error between the opening degree detected by the opening degree sensor and an actual opening degree of the wastegate valve. The circuitry is configured to control the wastegate valve such that the opening degree detected by the opening degree sensor is equal to the target opening degree while the vehicle is driven in the motor drive mode.

SSC-SCC SYSTEM FOR INCREASING SSC DISTANCE USING SSC AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

A method for controlling an SSC-SCC system for increasing a SSC distance using SCC is provided. The method includes determining whether a vehicle in operation satisfies a preset SSC entry condition and entering the SSC mode or maintaining the SSC entry state when the vehicle satisfies the preset SSC entry condition. A distance from a preceding vehicle is measured after the entering of the SSC mode or the maintaining of the SSC entry state. Additionally, the method includes determining whether the measured distance is equal to or less than a preset reference distance and performing SCC braking in response to determining that the measured distance is equal to or less than the preset reference distance.

An arc welding system includes a welding power supply. An auxiliary power supply supplies electrical energy to an auxiliary load. An engine-generator is connected to the welding power supply and auxiliary power supply. An engine starting battery is connected to the auxiliary power supply to supply electrical energy thereto during starting of the engine-generator. An auxiliary load sensor is configured to detect a presence of an electrical load on the auxiliary power supply. A speed sensor is configured to sense a speed of the engine-generator. A controller is configured to receive a signal indicating presence of the electrical load on the auxiliary power supply and a signal corresponding to speed of the engine-generator. When presence of the electrical load on the auxiliary power supply is detected, the controller starts the engine-generator, and after the engine-generator has reached a predetermined speed, switches the auxiliary power supply from the battery to the engine-generator.
