In place machining of collector ring
A method for in-place machining of a collector ring attached to a turbine shaft of a hydroelectric generator includes: attaching a support member to stationary portions of the hydroelectric generator, the support member being configured to support a machine tool at an angle parallel to an inclination angle of an axis of rotation of the turbine shaft; attaching an adjustable positioning device to the support member; attaching the machine tool to the adjustable positioning device, the machine tool being configured to perform a machining operation on the collector ring; controlling a rotational speed of the turbine shaft to a specified rotational speed by controlling a flow of water through the turbine; adjusting the adjustable positioning device to adjust a position of the machine tool with respect to the collector ring; and performing the machining operation on the collector ring at the specified rotational speed of the turbine shaft.
Rotating guide vane module for hydraulic working condition adjustment and method of assembling in turbopump
The present invention belongs to the technical field of fluid machinery, and proposes a rotating guide vane module for hydraulic working condition adjustment and a method of assembling in a turbopump. The rotating guide vane module comprises a rotating guide vane back cover plate, a rotating guide vane front cover plate, a rotating guide vane drive gear, and rotating guide vanes. Each rotating guide vane is an integrally-formed independent component and comprises a rotating guide vane back seat, a blade, a rotating guide vane front seat, and a shaft. When the rotating guide vane module for hydraulic working condition adjustment of the present invention is used for adjusting the hydraulic working condition, a center gear rotates to drive the rotating guide vane drive gear, and then the rotating guide vanes rotate to change their opening degrees.
Startup method of Francis turbine and Francis turbine
A startup method of a Francis turbine according to an embodiment includes: a bypass-valve opening step of opening the bypass valve with the inlet valve closed; an inlet-valve opening step of opening the inlet valve after the bypass-valve opening step; and a first rotation-speed increasing step of increasing a rotation speed of the runner by opening the guide vane at an opening that is 50% or more of a maximum opening before a flow velocity of a swirling flow flowing around the runner reaches 90 m/sec.
SYSTEM INCLUDING CAVITATION IMPELLER AND TURBINE
The invention relates generally to a system and in particular to a waste heat recovery system including one or more cavitation impellers and turbines. The system may include one or more impellers that are configured to generate pressure, flow, and cavitation bubbles, which, upon collapsing, release energy that may be captured by the output turbine. Advantageously, the system can harness the captured energy to, for example, turn a crankshaft to add torque or operate a generator to charge an external power source.
Reversible pump turbine and guide vane for the reversible pump turbine
A reversible pump-turbine and also a guide vane for a reversible pump-turbine with a guide vane body, a pivot for rotating the guide vane body around an axis of rotation and two end faces. The guide vane body has a turbine leading edge facing the turbine flow and a turbine trailing edge facing away from the turbine flow, where the individual guide vanes come into contact with one another along closing edges when the wicket gate is closed, where the guide vanes each have two flow-guiding surfaces on either side of the axis of rotation and opposite one another that are limited by the two end faces. These two flow-guiding surfaces have different flow profiles.
Vertical-Axis Renewable-Power Generator
A vertical-axis renewable-power generator is an apparatus that is used to efficiently generate power in various weather conditions using renewable energy sources. The apparatus includes a vertically-oriented foil and a fluid turbine. The foil is designed to generate areas of relative high fluid velocity and low pressure on one side and relative lower fluid velocity and higher pressure on the opposite side. The foil is also self-directing so that the foil can follow the direction of the fluid flow. The fluid turbine is integrated into the foil so that the fluid turbine can be rotated by the high-speed fluid flow. The rotation of the fluid turbine can be used to generate electricity. The apparatus conforms to the Bernoulli's principle that is proven to increase the speed of the fluid flow over the foil, which is used to increase the speed of the fluid flow impacting the fluid turbine.

Guide vane assembly
A guide vane assembly for a stator vane stage comprises at least two aerofoil members joined together using a vane assembly attachment web. The vane assembly attachment web may be provided at the inner and/or outer radius of the aerofoil members. The vane assembly attachment web allows the guide vane assembly to be attached to an inner and/or outer attachment ring, thereby forming a stator vane stage. Such an arrangement may allow composite fiber reinforced guide vane assemblies to be readily assembled together to form stator vane stages. Stator vane stages that comprise such composite fiber reinforced guide vane assemblies may be lighter than conventional metallic stator vane stages.
METHOD FOR STABILIZING THE ROTATION SPEED OF A HYDRAULIC MACHINE WITH S-CHARACTERISTICS AND INSTALLATION FOR CONVERTING HYDRAULIC ENERGY INTO ELECTRICAL ENERGY
A method for stabilizing the rotation speed of a machine with S-characteristics is provided. The method includes calculating a target net head and a target opening to affect guide vanes of the machine, the target net head and the target opening being calculated so that the torque exerted by water flow on the turbine is null and that the machine rotates at a target rotation speed; determining a real net head to which the machine is subjected; comparing the target net head with the real net head; and adjusting the opening of the guide vanes so as to converge towards the target opening and reduce a height difference between the target net head and the real net head.
