Onion Food Product and Methods of Making and Use Thereof

An onion product containing sodium metabisulfite, flavors, a food-grade acid, onions, flavor, onions, and an acidified solution comprising water and a food-grade acid, which makes it possible for an onion food product to achieve commercial sterility. Although makeable in other ways, an onion product results from a four-step fill process, including dosing sodium metabisulfite, liquid dosing of heat-stable flavors, onions, acidified solution comprising water and a food-grade acid, into a container, sterilizing, and optionally inverting the container.

Strain of Oceanobacillus picturae and applications thereof

A strain of Oceanobacillus picturae and applications thereof are provided, which relate to technical fields of microorganism and food processing. A strain of halophilic bacteria was screened from the brine of Xiangyang Pickled Kohlrabi and was identified as the strain of Oceanobacillus picturae by morphology, physical and chemical properties and 16S rRNA sequence. The strain is able to significantly increase the varieties and contents of volatile substances, and decrease the contents of pungent substances in pickled vegetables. The strain of Oceanobacillus picturae can improve the taste and the flavor of the pickled vegetables.

Lactobacillus plantarum with colorectal cancer inhibition function and use thereof

The present invention relates to the technical field of microbes, in particular to a Lactobacillus plantarum which can significantly inhibit the occurrence of colorectal cancer, and its use thereof. The Lactobacillus plantarum strain CCFM164 has a deposit number CGMCC No. 14520, which has a good tolerance to gastric acid and bile salts, significantly alleviate the level of colorectal inflammation in colorectal cancer model mice, and can reduce the number of tumors in the colon and rectum of the model mice by regulating the Notch1, Notch2 signaling pathway and the expression of VEGFR2 molecule in colorectal tissue. In addition, the Lactobacillus plantarum CCFM164 can also improve the intestinal flora population and short-chain fatty acid levels in the intestine. The Lactobacillus plantarum CCFM164 is used to prepare a fermented food for the inhibition of the occurrence of colorectal cancer with wild applications.
