ELECTRIC MOTOR SYSTEM, AND TURBO COMPRESSOR PROVIDED WITH SAME
20230018714 · 2023-01-19 ·

An electric motor system includes a drive shaft, first and second magnetic bearing portions facing each other and supporting the drive shaft, an electric motor to rotate the drive shaft, and a gap detection unit to detect a position of the drive shaft During rotation of the drive shaft, greater external force acts, on average, on the drive shaft in a first direction than in a second direction. The first and second direction extend from the second and first magnetic bearing portions to the first and second magnetic bearing portion. The first and second magnetic bearing portions produce first and second magnetic forces on the drive shaft in the first and second directions. A magnitude of the second magnetic force is greater than a magnitude of the first magnetic force. The gap detection unit is arranged closer to the second magnetic bearing portion than to the first magnetic bearing portion.

AIR BLOWER

An air blower capable of suppressing movement of an impeller in a thrust direction is provided. A first case includes a first air inlet and a first air outlet. A second case includes a second air inlet communicating with the first air inlet and a second air outlet communicating with the first air outlet. An impeller is provided inside the second case. A motor rotates the impeller. A first flow channel is provided between the motor and the second case on the opposite side of the first air inlet and the second air inlet relatively to the impeller. A second flow channel is provided between the first case and the second case and communicates with the first flow channel, the first air inlet, and the second air inlet.

Bearing assembly with catalyst-free ultra-strong polycrystalline diamond (PCD) material
11555505 · 2023-01-17 · ·

An electrical submersible pumping system includes thrust bearings and radial bearings fabricated from a micro-grained polycrystalline diamond compact (“USPCD”) material that is ultra-strong; and where the USPCD is produced using a catalyst free process. In examples, all components of the bearings are formed from the ultra-strong USPCD material. Pads are in the bearings that have a contact surface, and the pads selectively tilt about a tilt member in response to variations in an opposing contact surface. The tilt members are attached to or otherwise associated with the pads, and are in contact with a resilient member that improves tilting response of the pads. The resilient members are encased in jackets that cover surfaces of the resilient members not in contact with the tilt members. The jackets are set in channels formed in structure of the bearings.

Vapor Recovery Turbo Compressor
20230220749 · 2023-07-13 ·

A vapor recovery turbo compressor is provided for recovering low pressure hydrocarbon vapors from tanks, oil or gas wells or other low-pressure sources. The vapor recovery turbo compressor includes a turbo expander that receives high pressure hydrocarbon gas that drives the turbo expander. The turbo expander drives a vapor recovery compressor. The vapor recovery compressor receives very low-pressure hydrocarbon gas from tanks and other sources and generates medium pressure hydrocarbon gas that can be used for various purposes.

Refrigerant compressor including insulation for magnetic bearing assembly
11698076 · 2023-07-11 · ·

A refrigerant compressor includes a magnetic bearing assembly including insulation for the coils and lamination stack of the assembly. The lamination stack includes coil apertures extending axially between opposed axial faces. An insert partially extends into a first coil aperture to prevent direct contact between first and second coils. The insert includes a first leg extending into a slot formed in the lamination stack and a second leg radially spaced-apart from the first leg with the second leg extending axially into the first coil aperture. An annular cover having first and second legs extends into respective slots and apertures of the lamination stack. A second annular cover is provided on the opposite face of the coils that is connected to free ends of the second legs. The lamination stack and coils are coated with an insulative material such as epoxy.

Centrifugal compressor

Provided is a centrifugal compressor, including: a movable member which is movable between a first position and a second position, the first position being a position at which an opening degree of an auxiliary flow passage arranged more on an outer diameter side than a main flow passage becomes a first opening degree, the second position being a position at which an opening degree of the auxiliary flow passage becomes a second opening degree smaller than the first opening degree; and a linear actuator configured to drive the movable member in a rotation axis direction of the impeller.
