The pump includes an impeller disposed within the interior, and a motor connected to the impeller and comprising a stator and a rotor. The rotor is rotatable about a central axis. The stator is rotatable about the central axis relative to the rotor and the housing. The pump further includes an elastic damper coupled to the stator for reducing stator torque ripple transmissions to the housing.
System and method of detecting cavitation in pumps
A system and method for detecting cavitation in pumps for fixed and variable supply frequency applications is disclosed. The system includes a controller having a processor programmed to repeatedly receive real-time operating current data from a motor driving a pump, generate a current frequency spectrum from the current data, and analyze current data within a pair of signature frequency bands of the current frequency spectrum. The processor is further programmed to repeatedly determine fault signatures as a function of the current data within the pair of signature frequency bands, repeatedly determine fault indices based on the fault signatures and a dynamic reference signature, compare the fault indices to a reference index, and identify a cavitation condition in a pump based on a comparison between the reference index and a current fault index.
ANTI-SWIRL RIB SYSTEM FOR A PUMP
A technique employs a system and methodology for improving sand control in pumps. The technique may be used in centrifugal pumps by providing uniquely constructed rib feature to facilitate sand control and thus reduction of erosion due to sand in the pumped fluid. The improved sand control is useful in centrifugal pumps employed in a variety of oilfield applications, such as in electric submersible pumping systems positioned downhole in a wellbore to pump oil or other fluids. The rib feature may be used in combination with a shield and arranged along diffuser bowl walls or other diffuser walls within sequential pump stages.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETECTION OF FAULTS IN PUMP ASSEMBLY VIA HANDHELD COMMUNICATION DEVICE
A method for detecting faults or operational parameters in a pump assembly by use of a handheld communication device is described. The pump assembly includes an electric motor and a pump, wherein the pump assembly or electric motor has at least one rotating shaft The method comprises the steps of: a) measuring a sound signal emanating from the pump assembly by use of a microphone connected to or implemented in the handheld communication device, b) processing the measured sound signal, and c) recognising one or more sound emanating condition including any possible faults by way of the processed sound signal. The app automatically repeats at least steps b) and c) for a plurality of preselected frequency ranges in order to detect different fault states.
Bullhead-shaped grooved diversion jet and empennage swing vibration suppression device and method
A bullhead-shaped grooved diversion jet and empennage swing vibration suppression device and method. The device consists of an impeller diversion module and a drainage rotary cover module. The impeller diversion module consists of a center impeller, sleeve bearings, small impellers, and small impeller rotating shafts. The drainage rotary cover module consists of a drainage front cover, a perforated jet rear cover, and empennages. The device is mounted on an outer wall of a riser in a sleeving manner. Under a combined action of drainage and space allocation of horizontal rectangular grooves, flow rate distribution of the center impeller, flow direction adjustment of the small impellers, diversion of lateral diversion holes, jet flows of side rear reducing holes, flowing space division and wake vortex turbulence of rotary swinging empennages, around-flow boundary layers at two sides and a tail of the riser are deeply damaged, which suppresses the formation of large vortexes.
CENTRIFUGAL PUMP WITH IMPELLER CENTERING AND VIBRATION DAMPENING
A centrifugal pump for delivering coolant in vehicles and providing a centering of a pump impeller and a dampening of motor vibrations. The centrifugal pump having a pump housing consisting of a pump head, which forms a single part with a suction nozzle, a discharge nozzle, a spoke, and a bearing support, in which a counter bearing is mounted, in which a first region of a shaft is supported, around which a pump impeller is rotatably mounted via a slide bearing secured in the pump impeller, the spoke retaining the bearing support in a central position within the pump head and having a containment shell, which separates a wet chamber from a dry chamber and in which a second region of the shaft is supported. The invention seeks to solve the problem of providing in a generic centrifugal pump.
Cavitation detection system
Cavitation that occurs within a pump of a machine, such as truck or other work machine, can potentially damage the pump and/or other components of the machine. The machine can have a cavitation monitor configured to detect cavitation and/or cavitation damage associated with the pump based on vibration data, speed data associated with mechanical movements of the pump, and operating data associated with the machine overall. If the cavitation monitor detects cavitation and/or cavitation damage, the cavitation monitor can cause corresponding alerts to be displayed to a machine operator or other user.
Centrifugal pump
An impeller includes a disk-shaped hub and a plurality of vanes provided radially on the surface of the hub. The plurality of vanes are formed in a whirling pattern about the center of rotation of the impeller, and each of the vanes has an outer peripheral surface facing the inner peripheral surface of the volute. A rotational-direction rear end portion of the outer peripheral surface of each of the vanes has a recessed step surface formed thereon. The rotational-direction rear end of the recessed step surface of each of the vanes is formed to define an edge shape with respect to a rotational-direction rear end surface of the vane.
Thrust runner vibration dampening spring in electrical submersible pump
A submersible pump assembly has a seal section between the motor and the well fluid pump, the seal section having a housing, a shaft and a thrust bearing unit. The thrust bearing unit includes a thrust runner mounted to the shaft that rotates against a thrust bearing base fixed in the housing. An annular, metal thrust runner wave spring has an inner diameter surface in contact with the shaft and an outer diameter surface in contact with the runner bore. The wave spring has a transverse width between the inner diameter surface and the outer diameter surface that is elastically deflectable, exerting an inward bias force against the shaft and an outward bias force against the runner bore.
Turbomachine
Leakage of a working fluid from a shaft sealing device of a turbomachine which handles a liquid as the working liquid is reduced and also unstable fluid force which acts on a rotor is reduced. For this purpose, the turbomachine has a rotor having an impeller, a bearing which rotatably supports the rotor, a casing which contains the rotor therein and forms a stationary flow passage, and the shaft sealing device which reduces the leakage of the working fluid through a gap part between the casing and the rotor. The working fluid is a liquid. A plurality of axial grooves which are intermittently arranged in axial direction and circumferential direction of the rotor with a land part being interposed are provided in an inner circumferential surface of the shaft sealing device.
