A NACELLE FOR A WIND TURBINE
A wind turbine nacelle configured for mounting on a wind turbine tower and for supporting a rotor-supporting assembly, the nacelle comprising a main unit, and at least one auxiliary unit. The auxiliary unit accommodates a at least one component, e.g. a converter or transformer. To provide efficient transportation, lower costs and easier assembly, the operative component is suspended directly on the main unit.
Installing wind turbine blades on hubs
Methods for installing a wind turbine blade on a wind turbine hub include hoisting the wind turbine blade towards the wind turbine hub; bringing the wind turbine blade and the wind turbine hub into contact through an adaptable resilient body such that the adaptable resilient body is compressed between the wind turbine blade and the wind turbine hub; reducing a dimension of the adaptable resilient body such that the wind turbine blade approaches the wind turbine hub; and mounting the wind turbine blade to the wind turbine hub. Also, assemblies for assisting in mounting the wind turbine blade to the wind turbine hub and adapted wind turbine hubs are provided.
SYSTEM FOR ERECTING A TOWER AND CORRESPONDING METHOD
A system for assembling a tower for a wind generator having a succession of subsections (Si). The system including: a plurality of lifting legs, a lifting structure vertically movable on the lifting legs, the lifting structure including a rigid lifting frame for holding the tower under assembly, the lifting frame including load transfer members and the lifting structure including self-climbing mechanisms interacting between the load transfer members and the lifting legs for elevating or lowering the lifting structure, and at least a first set of gripping arms movable relative to the lifting frame between a retracted configuration and a gripping configuration.
Lift System and Method for Wind Turbine Monopiles and Other Structures
A system is used for lifting a heavy oversized structural element. At least two opposing lifts are placement adjacent opposing sides of the element. Each lift includes a base, a tower, an elevator, and an actuator. The tower extending vertically from the base, and the elevator is disposed on the tower. A support extends from the elevator outward from the tower to engage a point on the element. A guide of the elevator is configured to ride along a rail of the tower. The actuator is connected to the elevator and is configured to move with the elevator vertically along the tower. The actuator can include a strand jack disposed on the elevator. Hydraulic operation of the stand jack moves the jack and elevator along a strand extending along the tower. The arrangements of the lifts leave space below the raised element free for access to other operations.
A WIND TURBINE APPARATUS
A wind turbine apparatus for use in movement of components of a wind turbine. The wind turbine apparatus has an upright support means, the upright support means being adaptable to be set on a surface below a load in use, such that the weight of the load is transferred to the surface. The wind turbine apparatus further has a load bearing means for engaging a load, the load bearing means being operably coupled with the upright support means and being configured to be moveable laterally when bearing a load. The wind turbine apparatus further has a means for raising and lowering the load bearing means. The wind turbine apparatus can be used for supporting, raising and lowering yaw brake calipers.
Assembly of a tower section of a wind turbine tower
A method of assembling a tower section of a wind turbine tower is provided. The method includes arranging the tower section of the wind turbine tower in a horizontal orientation; transporting a damper unit to a position inside the tower section while the tower section is arranged in the horizontal orientation; and mounting the damper unit to the tower section, wherein the damper unit is configured to damp motions of the wind turbine tower. Further, a horizontal transport system is provided that is supported at least at one position by the tower section and that includes a movable part configured to support a damper unit and to transport the damper unit in a horizontal direction from a position adjacent to an end of the tower section to a position at or adjacent to a mounting position of the damper unit inside the tower section.
Wind turbine service or construction method and apparatus
Method of lifting a wind turbine part (58) at a wind turbine site (1, 2), the method includes: providing a lifting apparatus (60) and a wind turbine part (58) to be lifted; providing a shield (40); providing manipulation equipment (45) associated with said shield (40); and suspending said part (58) from said lifting apparatus (60); moving said part (58) by means of said lifting apparatus (68); the method further including holding said shield (40) proximate and upwind of said part (58) being lifted by means of said manipulation equipment (45). The shield (40) may be held proximate the part (58) being lifted such that it acts to reduce the ambient wind force incident on the part (58). Preferably the method may be implemented such that wind speed conditions (w) at the part (58) being lifted are lower than ambient wind conditions (W) at said site (1, 2). A kite-flying apparatus includes a power kite (40) and associated manipulation equipment (45), including cables (42, 44) at least one steering winch (28, 29), the winch being received in a winching module (26) including a ballast receiving fitment and a winch control system.
