REGULATABLE AIR-FLOW ACCELERATION UNIT FOR WIND ENERGY CONVERSION EQUIPMENT
A regulatable air-flow acceleration unit for wind energy conversion equipment is presented. The novel regulatable air-flow acceleration unit includes a wind acceleration channel containing pressure-limiting devices arranged in a novel sequential way, protruding from above and from below into the wind acceleration channel which creates a variable degree of restriction. The pressure-limiting devices contain a regulation valve having a rotation axle connected to a tilting body that can be positioned in the radial direction in the case of air-flow acceleration units arranged in a circular cylinder section shape used in vertical axle turbines allowing for smoother and finer regulation during the movement of the tilting bodies.

System and method for reducing the transport width of a gearbox for a wind turbine
The present disclosure is directed to a gearbox assembly for a wind turbine. The gearbox assembly has a maximal installed width and a maximal transport width. The maximal installed width is greater than the maximal transport width. The gearbox assembly includes at least one torque arm coupled to opposing sides of the gearbox housing. Each of the torque arms includes a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal ends are removably coupled to the exterior surface of the gearbox such that the distance between the distal ends define the maximal installed width. The torque arms are coupled to at least one support element and to a bedplate of the wind turbine.

An aircraft beacon device of a wind power installation, to be arranged on a gondola of the wind power installation, comprising at least three omnidirectional emission sections arranged concentrically in a ring around a common mid-axis, each omnidirectional emission section comprising a lens section arranged concentrically in a ring around the mid-axis, with a beam plane defined perpendicularly to the mid-axis, and at least one lighting ring having lighting means arranged concentrically in a ring around the mid-axis in order to emit light through the lens section, wherein each lighting ring is configured in order to emit light with a central emission direction which makes an emission angle with the beam plane, and wherein the emission direction depends on an axial position of the lighting ring with respect to the lens section, wherein at least one omnidirectional emission section comprises at least two lighting rings offset axially with respect to one another for emission with different emission angles.
Centrifugal turbo-compressor
The centrifugal turbo-compressor (2) includes a hermetic casing; a drive shaft (6); a first and a second compression stage (12, 13) configured to compress a refrigerant and respectively including a first and a second impeller (18, 19) connected to the drive shaft (6) and being arranged in a back-to-back configuration; an interstage sealing device provided between the first and second impellers (18, 19). The hermetic casing includes a main casing portion (4) in which are arranged the first and second compression stages (12, 13) and the inter-stage sealing device. The first and second compression stage (12, 13) respectively includes a first and a second aerodynamic member (29, 31) each having an annular disc shape and respectively facing front-sides (21, 22) of the first and second impellers (18, 19).
WIND TURBINE GENERATOR ASSEMBLIES
An offshore wind turbine generator comprises a tower 1 and a platform 2. The tower 1 is provided with a side door 4 accessed from the platform 2 using a stairway 5 leading to an upper platform 6. The upper platform 6 is formed from the upper surface of a cabinet 7 which houses a diesel backup generator. Both the backup generator and the cabinet 7 are mounted to the tower 1 by bolts, such that the cabinet and backup generator are fully supported by the tower 1. A diesel fuel tank 12 is also mounted to the tower 1 by bolts. The fuel tank supplies diesel fuel to the backup generator.
Accelerated and-or redirected flow-inducing and-or low pressure field or area-inducing arrangement, their use with turbine-like devices and method for using same
An accelerated and/or redirected flow arrangement, optimally serving as a wildlife and/or debris excluder (WDE), is used in combination with a turbine-like device having an inlet end and an outlet end for fluid flowing therethrough, e.g., a hydro-turbine. The arrangement includes at least a forward part designed to be placed in front of a fluid inlet of a turbine-like device and configured to produce at least one of the following effects on the fluid: (a) imparting a re-direction of the fluid; and/or (b) accelerating the flow velocity of the fluid, as it flows through the forward part. Turbine-like devices having both a forward part and a rearward part of flow arrangement are disclosed, as well as a method of enhancing turbine performance.

A machine support for a wind power installation, in particular a gearless wind power installation, wherein the machine support is designed to be rotated about a tower axis by means of an azimuth drive, and has a supporting structure which has a first mechanical interface for connecting the machine support indirectly or directly to an azimuth bearing and a second mechanical interface for assembling a generator or an axle journal on the machine support. It is proposed in particular that the supporting structure has one or a plurality of lateral through openings as access to the azimuth drive and/or the azimuth bearing.
Start-up algorithm for an implantable blood pump
A system and a method for starting a rotor of an implantable blood pump are described. For example, a blood pump system includes a rotary motor having a stator and a rotor. The rotor has permanent magnetic poles for magnetic levitation of the rotor, and the stator has a plurality of pole pieces arranged circumferentially at intervals. The blood pump system includes a controller configured to control a start phase of the rotor, wherein the start phase is prior to the rotor being positioned in a predefined geometric volume for pumping blood and wherein the start phase includes performing a rotation of the rotor by an angle larger than an angle corresponding to a quarter of an angular distance between two neighboring magnetic poles of the rotor.
