The sealing member having a first surface and a second surface. The sealing member having a width between a first edge and a second edge. The sealing member being configured for attachment to the first outer shell along the first edge, and for attachment to the second outer shell along the second edge. The sealing member comprising a corrugated section between the first edge and the second edge, the corrugated section comprising one or more valleys and/or ridges extending along a lengthwise direction of the sealing member.
Multiple folded blade vertical axis wind turbine
A vertical axis wind turbine system for generating electricity. The whole turbine and the generator is structured around a single pole in the center. The pole holds the whole system together and supports the entire system. The System includes a turbine and a generator assembly. It consists of multiple folded L-shaped rectangle blades, which are structured around an empty cylinder whose purpose is to force air to go around it and into the blades for better efficiency. The empty cylinder is attached to the pole in the center of the system. The blades are attached to a bearing that spins around the pole on the top end and attached to the rotor on the bottom end of the empty cylinder. Each blade is folded at an angle to reduce the drag of the returning blades without compromising the surface area of the going blades.
WIND TURBINE ROTOR BLADE AND METHOD
The disclosure concerns a segmented wind turbine rotor blade, which is formed by at least two rotor blade segments, wherein at a division area of the wind turbine rotor blade the segments are firmly connected together at respective connection ends via a plurality of connecting elements, wherein a gap is formed between the connection ends, and a fairing is attached to the segments at the division area, the fairing covering the gap and the connecting elements; wherein the fairing is divided into at least two separate fairing sections, the fairing sections are coupled together at coupling regions at the pressure side and/or at the suction side of the rotor blade, and the coupling regions are spaced apart from the trailing edge or leading edge. The disclosure also concerns a method.
FIXED AND PITCHING BLADES, SPAR SHAFT, BEARINGS AND MATERIALS FOR MARINE CURRENT TURBINE
A marine current turbine rotor comprises a hub and fixed and two or more pitchable blade sections configured to reduce bending moment loads on the pitch bearings and enable the use of non-standard, low-cost structural materials for the hub, blades, and pitch shaft. A submersible pitch drive mechanism or linkage in the hub rotates the pitch shaft to cause the pitchable blade section to move to a specified pitch position. The hub cavity is configured to be “wet” without the expense and maintenance requirement of seals to prevent water intrusion, utilizing water-lubricated pitch bearings.
Connection of a rotor blade to the rotor hub of a wind turbine
A rotor blade for a wind turbine, to a rotor for a wind turbine, to a wind turbine, to a method for producing a rotor blade, to a method for connecting a rotor blade to a rotor hub and to a method for repairing a rotor of a wind turbine. The rotor blade has a connection interface, the connection interface having at least one cutout for receiving a tension element for connecting the rotor blade to a further element of a wind turbine, an outer circumferential surface of the cutout being formed of a connection material and having an internal thread.
WIND TURBINE ROTOR BLADE
A wind turbine rotor blade is provided comprising a rotor blade root region, a rotor blade tip region, a pressure side, a suction side, a front edge, a rear edge and at least one web along a longitudinal direction of the rotor blade. Furthermore, a deflecting unit is provided comprising at least two deflecting bends between one end of the at least one web and the rotor blade tip region.
Impulse turbine with non-wetting surface for improved hydraulic efficiency
Various arrangements of a turbine for a rotating coalescer element of a crankcase ventilation system for an internal combustion engine are described. In some arrangements, the turbine is an impulse turbine, which is also known as a pelton turbine or a turgo turbine. The turbine is used to convert hydraulic power from a stream of pressurized fluid to mechanical power that is used to drive the rotating element. The turbine includes a non-wetting surface (e.g., an oleophobic or hydrophobic surface) that repels the pressurized fluid. The non-wetting surface may be achieved through plasma coating, fluoropolymer coating, micro-topography features, and the like. The non-wetting surface increases the power transmission efficiency from the stream of pressurized fluid to the turbine, thereby increasing the rotational speed of the rotating element compared to wettable surfaced turbines, which in turn increases the efficiency of the rotating element.
Alignment device and method for aligning multiple beams for a spar cap of a wind turbine blade of a wind turbine
An alignment device for aligning multiple beams for a spar cap of a wind turbine blade of a wind turbine with respect to each other is provided. The alignment device includes a support plate, which is configured so that the multiple beams can be placed on a top side of the support plate, two limit stops, which are configured to partially enclose the multiple beams, at least one bending apparatus attached to the support plate and configured to bend the support plate, a vibration apparatus attached to the support plate and/or the at least one bending apparatus, whereby the vibration apparatus is configured to vibrate the support plate and/or the bending apparatus, so that the multiple beams become aligned with respect to each other is provided. A method for aligning multiple beams for a spar cap of a wind turbine blade of a wind turbine is also provided.
