The present disclosure generally relates to an automated gaming arrangement, specifically provided with means for reducing the need of continuous human surveillance. The present disclosure also relates to a corresponding method for operating such a gaming arrangement and a thereto related computer program product.

The system includes a computer to detect whether there is any of the following predefined arrangements: (1) for each of a predefined number of consecutively drawn cards, the respective rank of the respective card is larger or smaller by one than an immediately preceding one of the cards drawn from the card housing; (2) a respective rank of each of a predefined number of consecutively drawn cards is the same; (3) a respective suit of each of a predefined number of consecutively drawn cards is the same; or (4) a same sequence in which a predefined number of the cards are consecutively drawn is repeated.

A card-handling device and related methods may include a card intake, a card rotation device, and a card output. The card rotation device may be configured to rotate at least one of the one or more playing cards about a minor axis of the one or more playing cards to randomly alter an orientation of lateral edges of the one or more playing cards. A card-handling device and related methods may be configured to recognize unreadable cards and move the unreadable cards to a designated position.

A card-handling device and related methods may include a card intake, a card rotation device, and a card output. The card rotation device may be configured to rotate at least one of the one or more playing cards about a minor axis of the one or more playing cards to randomly alter an orientation of lateral edges of the one or more playing cards. A card-handling device and related methods may be configured to recognize unreadable cards and move the unreadable cards to a designated position.

A rotary card shuffling and selection machine for use in playing a game of chance includes a wheel supported in a generally vertical plane for rotation about a horizontal rotary axis. The wheel is provided with a plurality of card positions arranged concentrically about the rotary axis. Each card position receives a card bearing indicia suitable to decide the game of chance. The cards are secured in card positions disposed around the wheel such they are oriented face up so that indica on the face of the card, which is relevant to the outcome of the game of chance, can be seen while the wheel is rotating.
