A buffer-holder member maintains the buffer cards against the face plate for dealing as the card flipper returns to a home position to receive more shuffled cards while buffer cards are being dealt in a round of Baccarat.

Examples of card-handling devices include shufflers, card sorters, card delivery devices and card verification devices. The device includes a card infeed area that supports a stack of cards. The card infeed area has a card support surface. Included in the device is a card-removing system that removes cards individually from the bottom of the stack. A pivoting arm presses against a card at the top of the stack. At least one sensor is provided that detects at least one of a position of the arm and a presence of a card in the card infeed area. A method of shuffling cards is also disclosed. The method includes the steps of providing cards to be shuffled into a card infeed area as a stack with a top and bottom and removing cards one at a time from the bottom of the stack and moving the removed cards to a shuffling zone. Cards are then shuffled. The stack of cards is stabilized by a pivoting arm capable of pressing against the top of the stack in an engaged position. The pivot arm may be automatically rotated from a first card-engaging position to a second recessed position.

The card-support inclined board includes a control hole interconnecting with the installation space and the card-receiving space. The card pusher device is arranged in the card-receiving space and on the card-support inclined board. The fixing lever is arranged inside the installation space and includes a pivotal point pivotally connected with the card shoe; a protrudent pillar extending through the control hole into the card-receiving space. The protrudent pillar blocks the card pusher device to stay on the upper region of the card-receiving space to increase convenience of placing poker cards.

A card shuffler and a method of operating a card shuffler is provided. The method includes the step of establishing a virtual deck structure defines a virtual card assignment, defined by a matrix, for a plurality of cards. Each card is associated with one of the cells of the matrix. The method includes a first pass including the steps of placing a set of cards into the card receiving area of the shuffling device and delivering the cards, using the shuffling device, into the associated first assigned card receiving pockets of a card receiver forming a partially shuffled set of card. A second pass includes the steps of placing the partially shuffled set of cards into the card receiving area of the shuffling device and delivering the cards, using the shuffling device, into the associated second assigned card receiving pockets of the card receiver forming a shuffled set of cards.
