Interface assembly for a combustor
An interface assembly for a combustor includes an interface housing having a channel defined by a forward wall and at least one aft wall segment, the aft wall segment operatively coupled to an aft flange of a flow sleeve. Also included is a piston ring fittingly disposed in the channel.
Fluid cooled seal land for rotational equipment seal assembly
A seal land includes a seal land body that extends circumferentially about an axis and radially between an inner seal land side and an outer seal land side. The seal land body is configured with a plurality of fluid passages arranged about the axis. A first of the fluid passages includes an inner passage segment and an outer passage segment fluidly coupled with the inner passage segment. The inner passage segment extends along a first trajectory within the seal land body towards the outer passage segment. The outer passage segment extends along a second trajectory within the seal land body away from the inner passage segment and towards the outer seal land side. The second trajectory is different than the first trajectory and includes a radial component and a circumferential component.
PISTON SEAL ASSEMBLY GUARDS AND INSERTS FOR SEAL GROOVE
A method of repairing a piston seal assembly comprises removing worn material from a piston seal groove to generate a worked seal groove, applying a groove buildup member to the worked seal groove, and disposing a seal member proximate the groove buildup member.
SEALING STRUCTURE OF TURBOCHARGER AND TURBOCHARGER
A sealing structure of a turbocharger includes a turbine housing including a scroll channel, a nozzle mount, a nozzle plate defining, with the nozzle mount, an exhaust gas channel for introducing an exhaust gas from the scroll channel to a turbine wheel, the nozzle plate including an annular plate portion that has a channel wall surface defining the exhaust gas channel and a tubular portion that extends from an inner peripheral end portion on a back surface of the annular plate portion toward a first inner wall surface of the turbine housing, and a sealing device for sealing a section between the first inner wall surface and an end surface of the tubular portion. The sealing device includes a first plate member that has one surface contacting the end surface of the tubular portion, and a sealing member for sealing a section between the first inner wall surface and another surface of the first plate member, the sealing member being configured to bias the first plate member toward the end surface of the tubular portion.
BEARING HOUSING WITH SLIP JOINT
A bearing housing for a gas turbine engine has first and second housing members axially telescoped into each other at a slip joint. The first and second housing members extend circumferentially around a central axis for circumscribing a bearing cavity. The first housing member has a first bearing support for supporting a first bearing in the bearing cavity. The second housing member has a second bearing support for supporting a second bearing in the same bearing cavity. A seal is provided at the slip joint for sealing the bearing cavity.
Seal seat insert for gas turbine engines
A seal assembly for a gas turbine engine may include a seal body coupled to an engine static structure of the gas turbine engine and a seal seat insert coupled to a radially extending portion of a shaft of the gas turbine engine. The seal body may be generally configured to be biased into contact with the seal seat insert to provide a sealing pressure between the seal body and the seal seat insert. In various embodiments, the seal seat insert is made from a ceramic material or a ceramic matrix composite.
Turbine probe heat shielding
A thermal shielding arrangement for a turbine probe extending through an exhaust case and a turbine housing of a gas turbine engine comprises a sleeve having a radially inner end fixedly mounted to the turbine housing and a radially outer end floatingly received in a probe boss on the exhaust case. The radially outer end of the sleeve opens to an air cavity between the exhaust case and a surrounding engine nacelle to allow for air circulation around the probe.
POSITIVE RETENTION EXPANSION JOINTS
An expansion joint for a jet engine, the expansion joint including a pipe defining a proximal end having a first engagement structure, wherein the pipe is part of an air system of the jet engine; and an engine hardware coupled with the proximal end of the pipe, the engine hardware having a second engagement structure engaged with the first engagement structure to couple the pipe and engine hardware relative to one another, wherein one of the first and second engagement structures comprises one or more spring fingers, and wherein the other of the first and second engagement structures comprises a ridge extending along a circumferential direction of such engagement structure.
TURBOCHARGER INCLUDING A SEALING ASSEMBLY
A turbocharger includes a shaft extending between first and second shaft ends. A turbine wheel is coupled to the first shaft end, and a bearing housing defines a bearing housing interior and is disposed about the shaft. A turbine housing defines a turbine housing interior and is disposed about the turbine wheel. A sealing assembly includes a case disposed about the shaft and extending between a first case end proximate to the turbine wheel and a second case end distal from the turbine wheel. The sealing assembly also includes a ring disposed between the shaft and the case such that the ring is unobstructed by the case radially between the shaft and the ring. The sealing assembly further includes a deformable component coupled to the second case end and to the ring, and is moveable with the ring to seal the bearing housing interior and the turbine housing interior.
Switching valve
A valve for an air system in an aircraft engine, comprising: a housing defining a chamber having a valve axis circumscribed by a sealing surface; and a piston assembly within the chamber including: a sealing ring; and a body extending annularly about a piston axis collinear with the valve axis, having a first and a second piston surface axially spaced apart, a radially outer piston surface extending axially and located between the first and second piston surfaces, and an annular groove extending radially inwardly from the radially outer piston surface having first and second groove walls spaced apart and axially facing one another, the sealing ring within the annular groove, the body including: a first member defining the first piston surface and the first groove wall; and a second member defining the second piston surface and the second groove wall, the first member and the second member in mating engagement.
