Magnetic game set for randomizable play
10300367 · 2019-05-28 ·

A game set for a randomizable table game includes a game board and a plurality of game pieces. The game board holds a number of magnetic tiles, each said tile containing a predetermined number of coin magnets with the coin magnets serving as play spaces on the game board. The game pieces each include a transparent hollow body that has opposite generally flat faces and can be set onto a selected magnet or space on the game board. A coin magnet in the transparent hollow body can invert or be held in its original position depending on whether the polarities of the playing piece and tile magnets match. Players may attempt to achieve a row of three game pieces with indicia on the magnets being all X or all O.

MATHEMATICAL BOARD GAME
20190151747 · 2019-05-23 ·

An instructive board game combining solving mathematical questions and making moves on a board in the manner of the well-known game of Tic Tac Toe is disclosed. The board displays mathematical values to be used in an operation in one location, and possible mathematical results in an array at another location. After one player selects a mathematical value, another player selects another mathematical value which will when subjected to the operation, will yield a mathematical result corresponding to a result shown at a desired location on the board. The second player then occupies that location. Players attempt to occupy abutting locations arranged three in a row, vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. In one implementation, the game gives players practice in solving quadratic equations.

GAME BASED ON TACTICAL PROGRAMMING

The invention relates to educational board games having a game board in which players compete to place player pieces on three consecutive grid spaces in a line on the game board during gameplay by selecting a subset of function cards dealt to the players, where each function card specifies one or more grid spaces on which a player piece may be placed, and one or more conditions that must be satisfied in order to place the player piece on the one or more grid spaces, and methods for playing the board games. Each function card represents a program having functions that specify a grid space on which a player piece may be placed. If a function returns true (e.g., the conditions are satisfied), then the player may place a player piece on that grid space. Otherwise, the player may not place a player piece using the function card.

The present disclosure provides systems and methods for a board game or an electronic version of the same, including a match-3 component and a strategy game piece component. The game may be implemented as a physical board game or as a computer-executed application. Matches of three or more tokens or icons result in an effect that is applied to game pieces of the player who made the match and/or an opponent of the player who made the match. The effect on game pieces resulting from a match are limited to game pieces positioned within the rows and/or columns that correspond to the rows and/or columns within which the matched tokens or icons are positioned.

An illuminated, three-dimensional tic-tac-toe game device is provided and includes a game board having nine posts arranged in a square. Each post includes three levels of play and a first switch and a second switch at each level. First and second game pieces are provided for use as X's and O's in the game. Each game piece includes translucent sides, a translucent top and an opaque bottom. First contacts are provided on each first game piece and are engageable with the first switches and second contacts are provided on each second game piece and are engageable with the second switches. An electronic circuit is provided for each possible combination of three of the same game pieces in a row either horizontally, vertically, transversely or diagonally. Lights are provided at each level within each post, either within each level of each post or inside a game piece arranged at the level. The electronic circuit activates the lights to illuminate through the translucent game pieces when one player establishes three of his game pieces in a row.

A three-dimensional alignment board game includes four aligned, spaced vertical levels of playing boards. Each level includes a grid forming a 55 planar matrix defining twenty-five placement areas for a total of one-hundred placement areas. At least two sets of playing pieces are distinguishable from each other and assigned to players of the game. Each piece can be placed and rest upon any of the one-hundred placement areas. A scorekeeping system keeps score by tracking points of the players. The game is completed when a player is first to accumulate a predetermined total number of points. The players take turns between/among themselves. Each player scores a first predetermined number of points by placing four pieces on four open vertically aligned placement areas of four levels, four pieces on four open diagonally aligned placement areas of four levels, or four pieces on four open horizontally aligned placement areas of any level.

Card-based method of playing a k-in-a-row game using a draw pile of cards bearing binary marking elements. The draw pile deck is shuffled and may be distributed, some cards going into a preformed grid and others to players or retained as a draw pile in a face down orientation. Play proceeds in turns, each player selecting a card from the initial draw pile or his dealt draw pile and playing the card either onto an open space on an actual or developing grid, or on a card not bearing the same face up symbol. Points are scored by a player who achieves a k-in-a-row configuration of cards bearing identical face up symbols and wherein multiple points can be scored in a single turn if multiple k-in-a-row configurations are achieved.
