SEAL ASSEMBLY WITH SEAL ARC SEGMENT
A seal assembly includes first, second, and third gas turbine engine components, such as vane assemblies, that are successively arranged around an axis. Each component has first and second mate faces such that the first mate face of the first component and the second mate face of the second component define a first mate face gap, and the first mate face of the second component and the second mate face of the third component to define a second mate face gap. A seal arc segment has first and second seal portions and a connector portion that joins the seal portions. The first seal portion bridges the first mate face gap to seal the first mate face gap, the second seal portion bridges the second mate face gap to seal the second mate face gap, and the connector portion spans circumferentially across the second component.
CMC VANE SEALING ARRANGEMENT
A vane assembly includes an airfoil extending from a platform. The platform has a flange that extends radially outward and circumferentially across the platform. A vane cover is arranged adjacent the platform that defines an impingement gap between the platform and the vane cover. The vane cover has a wall that defines a slot. The flange is arranged at least partially within the slot.
AIRFOIL ASSEMBLY WITH SEAL PLATE AND SEAL
An airfoil assembly includes an airfoil fairing, a spar, a seal plate, and a seal. The airfoil fairing has a fairing platform and a hollow airfoil section that extends from the fairing platform. The spar has a spar leg that extends in the hollow airfoil section. The spar leg defines a spar leg periphery. The seal plate is secured with the fairing platform. The seal plate has an opening, and the opening has an opening periphery that is complementary to the spar leg periphery. The spar leg extends through the opening. The seal is between the seal plate and the spar leg. The seal seals around the spar leg periphery.
Turbine rotor blade root with hollow mount with lattice support structure by additive manufacture
A turbine rotor blade root is additively manufactured and includes a shank having a radially extending chamber defined therein. A blade mount is at a radial inner end of the shank. The blade mount has a hollow interior defined therein with the hollow interior in fluid communication with the radially extending chamber. A lattice support structure is disposed within the hollow interior of the blade mount.
Airfoil with a squealer tip cooling system for a turbine blade, a turbine blade, a turbine blade assembly, a gas turbine and a manufacturing method
The present invention provides an airfoil 110 with the squealer tip cooling system 50 for a turbine blade 100 at the blade tip 113, wherein the squealer tip cooling system 50 comprises a cooling passage 170 arranged within a squealer tip 117, wherein the cooling passage 170 at least partly extends toward a terminal end 74 of the squealer tip 117, and a pocket 172 at a lateral surface 75, 76 of the squealer tip 117, open externally and extending inwardly at least partly across the cooling passage 170. The pocket 172 intersects the cooling passage 170 and the pocket 172 comprises an impingement surface 70 facing the cooling passage 170, on which a cooling medium expelled through the cooling passage 170 impinges before being discharged externally through the pocket 172.
Turbine engine component with baffle
The disclosure relates to a component for a turbine engine with a heated airflow and a cooling airflow. The component includes a wall separating the heated airflow from the cooling airflow. The wall can have a heated surface confronting the heated airflow and a cooled surface confronting the cooling airflow. The component can also include a baffle with a set of cooling holes.
Differential alpha variable area metering
An annular fluid flow control or metering device comprises: first and second annular plates disposed in an annular flow path, the first annular plate and second annular plates being made of different first and second materials, the first annular plate having a lower first coefficient of thermal expansion than a second coefficient of thermal expansion of the second annular plate, the first annular plate abutting or in contact with the second annular plate, the first annular plate including at least one first metering aperture, and the second annular plate being more thermally responsive than the first annular plate wherein the second annular plate being configured to radially grow and shrink to at least partly obstruct the at least one first metering aperture for metering or controlling a flow of fluid through the at least one first metering aperture.
Pre-swirl nozzle carrier and method of manufacturing the same
A pre-swirl nozzle carrier for a gas turbine engine, includes: a wall having front and rear sides, and a multiplicity of pre-swirl nozzles formed in the wall and which each have a flow passage, wherein the flow passage has an inlet opening at the front side and an outlet opening at the rear side. The flow passages are provided and designed to discharge air, which has flowed in via the inlet opening, with swirl from the outlet opening. It is provided that the inlet opening is surrounded by a periphery which, at least in certain sections, has a region with a convex curvature adjacent to the flow passage and has a region with a concave curvature adjacent to said region with a convex curvature. The invention furthermore relates to a method for producing a pre-swirl nozzle in a pre-swirl nozzle carrier.
Impingement panel support structure and method of manufacture
An integrated combustor nozzle includes a combustion liner that extends between an inner liner segment and an outer liner segment along a radial direction. The combustion liner including a forward end portion, an aft end portion, a first side wall, and a second side wall. An impingement panel having an impingement plate disposed along an exterior surface of one of the inner liner segment or the outer liner segment. The impingement plate defines a plurality of impingement apertures that direct coolant in discrete jets towards the exterior surface of the inner liner segment or the outer liner segment. The impingement panel includes an inlet portion that extends from the impingement plate to a collection duct. The impingement panel further includes a plurality of supports spaced apart from one another. The plurality of supports extend between, and are coupled to, the inlet portion, the collection duct, and the impingement plate.
