HYDRAULIC ACTUATOR
An actuator is disclosed comprising: a moveable member; a first hydraulic chamber in contact with a first surface of the moveable member; a second hydraulic chamber in contact with a second, opposing surface of the moveable member; a movable locking mechanism coupled to a moveable wall of the second hydraulic chamber; and a resilient biasing member acting on the moveable wall of the second hydraulic chamber so as to bias the moveable wall and locking mechanism. The actuator is configured to selectively vary the pressure in the second hydraulic chamber so that the resilient biasing member is able to bias the moveable wall to move, thereby moving the locking mechanism to engage the moveable member so as to prevent the movement of the moveable member towards at least one of the first and second hydraulic chambers.

A variable pitch fan assembly includes variable pitch fan blades circumscribed about engine centerline axis coupled to a drive shaft centered about the engine centerline axis. Each blade pivotable about pitch axis perpendicular to centerline axis and having blade turning lever connected thereto. One or more linear actuators non-rotatably mounted parallel to engine centerline axis and operably linked to fan blades for pivoting fan blades and connected to spider ring through thrust bearings for transmission of axial displacement of non-rotatable actuator rods of actuators while the fan blades are rotating. Spider arms extending away from spider ring towards blade roots and each spider arm connected to one of the turning levers. Turning levers may be connected and caromed to spider arms by pin and slot joint. Each spider arm may include joint pin disposed through joint slot of turning lever. Joint slot may be angled or curved.

A SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING THE PITCH OF FAN BLADES OF A TURBINE ENGINE, THE SYSTEM HAVING A FEATHERING-LOCKING PEG
A system for controlling the pitch of fan blades of a turbine engine propeller, the system including an actuator secured to a casing of the turbine engine, having a movable portion that is movable in translation relative to the casing, the movable portion being mechanically coupled to a load transfer bearing having an outer ring that is coupled to fan blade pivots so that a movement in translation of the movable portion of the actuator leads to a change in the pitch angle of the fan blades, and at least one locking peg secured to the casing of the turbine engine and suitable, in the event of the actuator malfunctioning, for mechanically locking the load transfer bearing in a position wherein the fan blades are feathered.
Variable pitch fan for gas turbine engine
A variable pitch fan assembly for an aero gas turbine engine that includes a row of fixed pitch blades in a core stream flow and a row of variable pitch blades in a bypass stream flow, and where a sync ring with a number of hydraulic actuators within a flow splitter of the fan stage is used to vary a pitch of each of the bypass stream flow blades. Hydraulic fluid lines pass through the shaft and through the fixed pitch fan blades into the hydraulic actuators to move the sync ring and vary a pitch of the variable pitch bypass flow fan blades.
FAN MODULE HAVING VARIABLE-PITCH BLADES FOR A TURBINE ENGINE
The invention relates to a fan module having variable-pitch blades for a turbine engine, including a rotor (2) having blades (3), a stationary casing (7), and a system for adjusting and controlling the pitch of the blades (3), the rotor (2) including a central shaft (6) and a ring (9) for supporting the blades surrounding the shaft, a front end of the ring being connected to a front end of the shaft so as to define an annular space between the ring and the shaft which is open towards the rear, said annular space of the rotor (2) housing said system, and the shaft (6) being guided by a first bearing (8) mounted in the stationary casing (7), to the rear of the ring (9), characterised in that the ring (9) is guided by at least one complementary bearing (31) located upstream of the first bearing (8).
VARIABLE-PITCH BLADE CONTROL RING FOR A TURBOMACHINE
Variable-pitch blade control ring (44) for a turbine engine, comprising an annular body (42) configured to be mounted so as to be rotatable about an annular casing (16) of the turbine engine, said body comprising means (46) for linking to levers (34) for connecting to said vanes, characterised in that said ring further comprises first means (60, 62, 64) for guiding in an axial and/or helical direction, which means are supported by said body and comprise at least one substantially radial finger (60, 62) comprising means (62) for axial abutment on at least one first surface (72, 74) of said casing and for sliding on said surface.
