Variable pitch fan pitch range limiter
A variable pitch fan for gas turbine engine is provided. The variable pitch fan includes a plurality of fan blades rotatably coupled to a disk and an actuation assembly for changing a pitch of each of the plurality of fan blades. The actuation assembly generally includes an actuation member operably connected to at least one of the plurality of fan blades and a pin. The pin is movable between a first position in which the pin is positioned at least partially in a channel defined in the actuation member, and a second position. The pin blocks movement of the actuation member relative to the pin past a range defined by the channel when in the first position. The actuation assembly further includes a retraction system for selectively engaging the pin in moving the pin from the first position to the second position.
GEAR PUMP, DRIVE DEVICE AND ADJUSTABLE-PITCH PROPELLER
A gear pump is described with at least two intermeshing gearwheels which are each rotationally fixedly connected to a shaft and separate a suction side from a delivery side. The shafts are mounted in a housing. One of the shafts can be brought into active connection with a drive unit and the other of the shafts can be brought into active connection with a pressure-control device which is to be driven by the drive unit via the two shafts. Furthermore, a drive device with the gear pump is proposed for setting an angle of attack of propeller blades of an adjustable-pitch propeller. In addition, an adjustable-pitch propeller having the drive device is described.
POWER SOURCE, ADJUSTING POWER INSTRUCTING APPARATUS, METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM FOR CHANGING ADJUSTING POWER
A power source includes: a generator; a turbine device that drives and rotates the generator; and a control device that: monitors a rotation speed of the generator; calculates a first adjusting power instruction value corresponding to a deviation between a reference value and an observed value of the rotation speed of the generator; acquires an adjusting power amplification coefficient from an external device; calculates a second adjusting power instruction value indicating a degree of increase of the adjusting power, based on the first adjusting power instruction value and the adjusting power amplification coefficient; amplifies the adjusting power based on the second adjusting power instruction value; and outputs the amplified adjusting power to the turbine device to adjust power supply from the generator and reduces fluctuation of frequency in a power transmission and distribution system.
Variable pitch fan blade system
A gas turbine engine may have a blade receiver for holding a fan blade, wherein the blade receiver is rotatable about a radial axis of the gas turbine engine. The gas turbine engine may also include a variable pitch mechanism comprising an actuation arm. The gas turbine engine may also include a splined index ring disposed between the actuation arm of the variable pitch mechanism and the blade receiver. The splined index ring may include an outer spline and an inner spline.
DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING VARIABLE-PITCH MEMBERS IN A TURBOMACHINE
A device for controlling variable-pitch turbomachine members such as stator vanes, wherein the movement of a control mechanism is imparted to a ring that rotates the levers for pivoting the vanes about a stator, and takes place with a possible change in the length of the bottle screw connecting the ring to the control mechanism, thereby allowing the blade pitch angle law to be changed according to the extension of the control device. A greater freedom of adjustment is thus obtained. The device can be useful when a single control mechanism is used for multiple rings arranged side by side, making it possible to have different control laws for the rings.
APPARATUS FOR ACTUATING AND CONTROLLING THE ROTATION OF BLADES OF FANS FOR COOLING THE COOLANT IN MACHINES/VEHICLES
Apparatus for actuating and controlling the rotation, about their longitudinal axis (Y-Y), of blades (20) of cooling fans (10) for operating machines and/or vehicles, in particular agricultural tractors and off-road vehicles, said fan being mounted on a hub (11) which can be rotationally driven about its axis (X-X) by associated driving means (3,3a) suitable for connection to the heat engine (1) and mounted on a fixed support (5) by means of a bearing (3b) the apparatus comprising a ring (71) provided with a radial seat (71a) inside which a radial pin (72), eccentrically engaged in a base (73) integral with the shank (20a) of the blade (20), is inserted; an electric motor (30) which is coaxial with the axis (X-X) of the hub (11) and the shaft (31) of which is coaxially connected to a reduction gear (40), the kinematic output element (143) of which is coaxially connected by means of a screw (51a)/female thread (76a) coupling to a slider (76) displaceable in both directions along the axis (X-X) and kinematically connected to the ring (71) with an eccentric pin (72) driving the base (73) of the shank of the blade, an electromagnetic clutch (80; 180; 280) being arranged between the pulley (3) and the hub (11) of the fan.
ENERGY SCAVENGING HEALTH MONITORS FOR AIRCRAFT AND OTHER VEHICLES
Energy scavenging health monitors are provided for assessing the health of components onboard aircraft and other vehicles, as are methods carried-out by energy scavenging health monitors. In various embodiments, the energy scavenging health monitor includes an energy scavenger system, a controller coupled to the energy scavenger system, and a first sensor coupled to the controller. During operation of the health monitor, the first sensor provides sensor signals to the controller, which are indicative of an operational parameter pertaining to a monitored device of the vehicle. Storage media contains computer-readable instructions, which when executed by the controller, cause the energy scavenging health monitor to determine when a predetermined trigger event has occurred based, at least in part, on electrical input signals received from the energy scavenger system. In response to occurrence of the predetermined trigger event, the controller further stores data indicative of the sensor signals in the storage media.
Actuation method and efficiency
A multi-stage centrifugal pump assembly allows for multiple fixed ratio pressure levels. The multiple pressure levels permit optimization of actuation loops without the need for pressure regulators, and can be used directly by the actuators.
TURBINE BLADE, TURBINE INCLUDING SAME TURBINE BLADE, AND GAS TURBINE INCLUDING SAME TURBINE
A turbine blade is provided with a rotatable leading edge to reduce pressure loss as a flow direction of combustion gas varies. The turbine blade includes an airfoil including as separate bodies a trailing-edge portion and a leading-edge portion being linked to the trailing-edge portion and disposed upstream of the trailing-edge portion, the leading-edge portion including a front surface arranged on an upstream side of the leading-edge portion; and a rotary unit connected to the leading-edge portion and configured to rotate the leading-edge portion according to an inflow angle of the combustion gas such that the front surface faces a flow of the combustion gas. A barrier wall extends from a side surface of the leading-edge portion toward an open end of the trailing edge portion, and when the leading-edge portion is rotated, the bather wall portion prevents formation of a gap between the side surface and the open end.
