Air turbine starter
An air turbine starter that includes a housing. The housing can circumscribe a turbine coupled that is coupled to a gear train in a gear box via a drive shaft. The gear train can couple to an output shaft via at least a carrier. The air turbine starter can include at least a first bearing assembly and a second bearing assembly to rotatably support one or more of the drive shaft, the carrier, or the output shaft.
AIRFOIL FOR A TURBOMACHINE
The invention relates to an airfoil as well as to a method for producing an airfoil for a turbomachine, comprising a leading edge and a trailing edge joined to each other by a suction side and a pressure side and which, in at least one region, extends in a curved manner from an airfoil root to an airfoil tip, wherein the airfoil tip has a squealer tip, which is arranged at the airfoil tip.
Aircraft engine lubrication circuit and method, using a non-return pressurisation valve with two plugs
A non-return valve with twin plugs is connected to a fluid reservoir and equipment that can receive a small overflow quantity essentially in the gaseous state from the reservoir. This occurs when the primary valve is open. In the case of a larger overflow essentially in the liquid state, the openings are switched over to evacuate the overflow to another outlet branch of the non-return valve, without it being transferred to the equipment. The invention is useful in an oil lubrication circuit, in which a hypothetical fuel leak into the oil could cause the oil reservoir to overflow into the non-return valve and in which a significant flow of liquid to the equipment must be avoided; oil outlet through the other branch of the outlet can remain in a reservoir provided with a drain system.
ROTOR ARRANGEMENT FOR A GAS TURBINE WITH INCLINED AXIAL CONTACT SURFACES FORMED ON ROTOR SEGMENTS, GAS TURBINE AND AIRCRAFT GAS TURBINE
A rotor assembly may be used in a gas turbine. The rotor assembly includes rotor segments arranged in succession in an axial direction and interconnected in the axial direction by a tie-rod, and a rotor segment disposed forwardly in the axial direction having a first contact surface and a rotor segment disposed rearwardly in the axial direction having a second contact surface. The first and second contact surfaces are at least partially in contact with each other, are substantially annular in shape, and extend in a radial direction and in a circumferential direction. The first contact surface and/or the second contact surface extend at least partially obliquely relative to the radial direction. An angle is formed between the first contact surface and the second contact surface when viewed in a sectional plane defined by the axial direction and the radial direction.
THRUST REVERSER WITH ANTI-BUCKLING ACTUATING SYSTEM
A thrust reverser for a turbojet aircraft nacelle includes a fixed structure, a movable structure and an actuator. The actuator extends along a main axis and is connected by a first connection to the fixed structure and by a second connection to the movable structure for the deployment of the movable structure between a direct jet position and a reverse jet position. The actuator is also connected to the fixed structure by a third connection arranged longitudinally between the first connection and the second connection. An axis of the third connection is radially eccentric from the main axis and the third connection allows a predetermined displacement of the actuator with respect to the fixed structure.
Mode-shaped components
Embodiments of the invention are shown in the figures, where a method is presented for designing a component, including designing or receiving a model of the component; determining at least one mode shape of at least a portion of the model; redesigning the model based on the determined at least one mode shape to obtain a redesigned model of the component; and manufacturing the component in accordance with the redesigned model.
Integrally repaired bladed rotor
Repaired rotors are provided. The rotors are repaired by using an indenter apparatus for plastically straining original portions of the rotor and adjacent repair welds. The weld nugget, adjacent heat affected zones, and the adjacent parent-metal portions or new metal portions, are indented at a weld nugget and heat affected zone, to produce threshold levels of uniform plastic strain which meet or exceed plastic strain levels that provide, when the weld nugget and heat affected zone is heat treated, a recrystallized grain structure metallurgically comparable to the grain structure of the original parent-metal of the rotor. Repaired integrally bladed rotors for gas turbine engines, such as aircraft engines, are provided. Blades for gas turbine engines, including integrally bladed rotors, may be advantageously provided, having been manufactured or repaired as described.
GUIDE BLADE ARRANGEMENT FOR A TURBOMACHINE
A guide blade arrangement (20) for a turbomachine (1), including a guide blade airfoil (22) and a platform (21). The guide blade airfoil (22) is situated at a side (21.1) of the platform (21) facing the gas channel, an opposite side (21.2) of the platform (21) facing away from the gas channel being contoured at least in one area (30.1, 30.2) with elevations (25) and depressions (26) that follow one another in the circumferential direction (23) in relation to a longitudinal axis (2) of the turbomachine (1), and the elevations (25) and depressions (26) at the side (21.2) facing away from the gas channel being set via a platform thickness (31), taken radially in each case, that is variable in the circumferential direction (23) and that repeatedly increases and decreases with a continuous profile.
MINI-DISK FOR GAS TURBINE ENGINE
Mini-disks of gas turbine engines are provided having an axially extending portion extending axially with respect to an axis of the engine, the axially extending portion configured to engage with a hub arm of a compressor of the engine, a radially extending portion extends radially with respect to the axis, the radially extending portion configured to engage with an attachment of a turbine disk of the gas turbine engine, an intermediate portion extending between the axially extending portion and the radially extending portion, and at least one mini-disk connector configured to engage with a portion of the turbine disk of the gas turbine engine to prevent radial movement of the mini-disk during operation.
COMPONENT FOR A GAS TURBINE ENGINE
A component for a gas turbine engine includes a first region formed substantially of a first CMC material, wherein first region defines a first thermal conductivity. The component further includes a second region formed substantially of a second CMC material, wherein the second region defines a second thermal conductivity. Further, the component defines a thickness and the first region is positioned adjacent to the second region along the thickness, wherein the first thermal conductivity is different than the second thermal conductivity to alert a thermal profile of the component.
