Cylinder cover for internal combustion engine
Cylinder cover for an internal combustion engine, comprising a cylinder head, a cylinder head cover, an intermediate flange arranged between the cylinder head and the cylinder head cover, a plurality of fasteners for fastening the cylinder head cover and the intermediate flange to the cylinder head. The plurality of fasteners comprising a first fastener having a first head with internal threads, and a first shaft with first external threads, and a second fastener comprising a second head, and a second shaft with second external threads. The first fastener fastens the intermediate flange to the cylinder head and the second fastener fastens the cylinder head cover to the intermediate flange.
TRACK BOLT STRETCH DEVICE WITH NUT AND SPACER
A track link and track shoe bolted connection includes a track link with a clearance hole, a track bolt with a free end extending through the clearance hole, and a track nut with a top surface that is spaced away a minimum distance from the clearance hole. The track link includes a rail surface, a bottom surface, and a midplane between the rail surface and the bottom surface. The top surface of the track nut is at or above the midplane.
WALL-MOUNTED WASHING MACHINE AND INSTALLATION METHOD THEREOF
A fastener kit for mounting a washing machine to a wall having a block cavity. The washing machine includes a rear panel at the rear end of the housing. The fastener kit can affix the rear panel to an external wall. When the washing machine is mounted on the wall, a first end of the fastener kit is positioned inside a block cavity of the external wall through a fastening hole formed on the external wall. The second end of the fastener kit is coupled to the real panel. The fastener kit can support the washing machine on the wall against gravity through contact between the first end and an inner surface of the block cavity.
CONNECTION SYSTEM FOR A CRYOGENIC TANK
A connection system for a cryogenic tank with a tank wall formed with a first material. A connector is provided for a component to be connected to the tank. The connector is formed with a second material, and the connector is positioned on an exterior side of the tank and essentially congruent with a passage opening of the tank wall. At least one sealing element is provided, and the first and the second material have different thermal expansion coefficients. A counterpart formed with the second material is positioned on an interior side of the tank, and is connected with the connector via at least two fastening elements, such that the tank wall is clamped between the counterpart, the connector and the at least one sealing element, and a slight displaceability of the connector and the counterpart parallel to the tank wall remains to compensate for thermally induced mechanical stresses.
ELASTOMERIC COLLAR FOR FASTENERS
An elastomeric collar has a body portion with a generally cylindrical shape from a first end portion to a second end portion and defining a through opening extending along a central axis. A first annular flange is connected to and extends radially outward from the first end portion of the body portion. A second annular flange is connected to and extends radially outward from the second end portion of the body portion, where the second annular flange is axially spaced by a gap from the first annular flange. The body portion, the first annular flange, and the second annular flange are made of an elastomer having a durometer of at least 40A.
Twist-in-place grommet connection assembly
A connection assembly adapted for receipt of a male connection member at the interior of a grommet. The connection assembly includes a grommet of hollow construction including a first collar and a second non-circular collar disposed in spaced-apart relation from the first collar. An axial bore extends entirely through the grommet. A sleeve insert including a hollow stem extends into the axial bore so as to at least partially line the axial bore. A complementary retaining panel includes a substantially non-circular access opening adapted to receive the second collar in pass-through relation and to block the first collar against insertion. Upon rotation, the grommet is blocked against withdrawal through the access opening and the retaining panel is held securely in place.
Fastener and fastener assembly having improved vibrational and tightening characteristics
A fastener assembly is provided. The fastener assembly includes a nut having an internally threaded portion and an annulus extending from the nut and configured for receiving the shank of an elongate fastener. A compression collar is configured for deflecting the annulus into at least one of fixed engagement with the shank or to impart a spring bias of the annulus against the compression collar upon tightening of the nut about a working surface.
Lock tight bolt-nut
A lock tight nut and bolt system resistant to loosening due to vibration. The lock tight nut and bolt system includes an upper nut that has a shank part. The upper nut has first threads that are off center from a center of a bolt. The upper nut is configured to receive the bolt. A lower nut has a socket part and second threads that are centered with the center of the bolt. The socket part corresponds with the shank park of the upper nut. The upper nut and the lower nut are concentric with the center of the bolt. The system further may include the bolt.
COMPRESSION LIMITER TO ACCOMMODATE THERMAL EXPANSION DIFFERENTIAL
A coolant valve mounting arrangement is provided for a vibrating environment with significant temperature fluctuations. The mounting arrangement includes a fastener, a housing, a compression limiter and a mounting base. The compression limiter is arranged to minimize the housing thickness in order to reduce subsequent thermal expansion effects, while maintaining packaging, stiffness and strength requirements. A spring washer can be implemented to ensure that an adequate force is applied to the housing to maintain the integrity of a leak-free interface with the mounting base.
ATTACHMENTS
Mechanically attaching articles made from composites has problems due to the difference in properties of the composite in the x, y planar direction and the z perpendicular direction, this results in different properties between the composite and the attachment member such as differences in coefficients of thermal expansion which can weaken the joint further leading to differences in moisture uptake which can further reduce the strength and robustness of the joint. The invention relates to the selection of the position of a joint in order to reduce such problems and to operating the moulding process in a way that improves the provision of mechanical attachments such as bolt holes.
