Blind fasteners

A blind fastener may include a bolt. The bolt includes a head, a shank coupled to the head, and a number of external threads formed on the shank. The blind fastener may also include a mount coupled to the bolt, and a fastening block coupled to the mount. The mount may include a body, at least one arm extending from the body, and at least one pivot mount formed on and extending from the arm about which the fastening block pivots.

A toggle fastener includes an arm extending along a first axis and defining a threaded opening through the arm along a direction perpendicular to the first axis the toggle fastener. A rachet strap extends along a second axis and is pivotally coupled to the arm adjacent a proximal end of the rachet strap. The arm and rachet strap cooperate to block the arm and rachet strap from aligning. Pivoting the arm and the rachet strap relative to each other about a first direction, the angle between the first and second axes can be reduced to a first angle before further pivoting is blocked in a first blocking configuration of the toggle fastener. Attempting to pivot the rachet strap further in the first direction relative to the arm causes the rachet strap to recoverably flex.

ANCHOR ASSEMBLY

An anchor assembly includes an anchor body for insertion into a wall. A toggle member has an aperture therethrough and is slidable and pivotable relative to the anchor body. The toggle member is configured to have a first position slid forward aligned longitudinally with the anchor body, a second position slid forward and pivoted relative to the anchor body when the fastener engages the toggle member pivoting it relative to the anchor body, and a third position slid rearward and pivoted relative to the anchor body when the fastener enters the toggle member aperture and drives the toggle member rearward to engage the toggle member with the anchor body.

ANCHOR ASSEMBLY FOR FASTENER

An anchor assembly for walls comprises a toggle member and a strap member pivotally mounted together, and a locking member. In a first position thereof, the toggle member is aligned with the strap member for insertion through the wall, whereas in a second position thereof, the toggle member extends behind the wall at an angle relative to the strap member which extends from the toggle member through the hole in the wall. The locking member is adapted to be displaced along the strap member until it engages the wall and to be locked on the strap member to prevent the locking member from displacing away from the toggle member. Therefore, the locking member and the toggle member are connected by the strap member and imprison the wall by abutting respectively the visible and hidden sides thereof. A fastener introduced through the locking member and the wall threadably engages an opening defined in the toggle member.

A post coupler expands laterally. The post coupler includes a first member that is hollow and has a first slanted face. A second member is also hollow and has a second slanted face that is abutted with the first slanted face. A rod extends through the first and second members; the rod has a head that is disposed at a head end and threads disposed at a thread end. A nut is engaged with the threads, and rotating the nut causes the first member to extend in a first lateral direction and causes the second cylindrical member to extend in a second lateral direction opposite the first lateral direction.

Wall anchor

A wall anchor assembly with a sleeve and an anchor elastically coupled to the sleeve with an elastic member. Wherein, the elastic member defines a sleeve coupling portion that is substantially circular and couples the elastic member to the sleeve.

Substrate anchoring device

A fastener for attaching together layers of a substrate. The fastener includes a slide body, a bolt, a conical spring, and a toggle having a pivot coupled with one end of the slide body. The conical spring is disposed over a shaft of the bolt and the shaft is engaged within the slide body. The slide body and toggle are inserted into an aperture through the layers of substrate in a first configuration until the conical spring contacts a front face of the layers of substrate. Compression of the conical spring against the front face advances the toggle a clearance length out of the aperture on a back face of the layers of a substrate such that the toggle can switch to a second configuration that prevents retraction through the aperture. Extension of the conical spring automatically engages the toggle with the back face of the substrate to prevent rotation of the slide body within the aperture.

Box nut retainer

A first example box nut retainer includes a support, a fastener sleeve, and a resilient arm. The fastener sleeve defines an opening and extends downwardly from the support. The resilient arm extends upwardly and outwardly relative to the fastener sleeve toward the support.

The system includes a rail mountable to a wall, such as a wall along a hallway in a medical care environment. A cart movable along a floor adjacent to the wall is fitted with an anchor. The anchor is located at the rail, the anchor configured so that it releasably engages the rail, so that the cart can be secured to the rail when not in use. In at least some embodiments, a power source is located within the rail and a power coupler is provided on the cart which is adjacent to the power source in the rail and electrically coupled to the power source, for transmission of power from the power source in the rail to the cart, when of the anchor on the cart is attached to the rail. Thus, the cart is both anchored and recharged simultaneously in such embodiments.
