Assembly Including a Mounting Portion and an Implement-Retaining Portion
An assembly (100, 200) is disclosed. The assembly (100, 200) includes a mounting portion (112) and an implement-retaining portion (114, 214). The mounting portion (112) includes a body portion (112a) and a substrate-penetrating portion (112b). The body portion (112a) is defined by a substrate-engaging portion (112a.sub.1) and an implement retainer interface portion (112a.sub.2). The implement-retaining portion (114, 214) is removably-connected to the implement retainer interface portion (112a.sub.2).
Fastening structure and keyboard device
A fastening structure for fastening a to-be-fastened component to a wooden component by using a screw, wherein the wooden component is made of wood having a specific gravity of 0.08 g/cm.sup.3 to 0.85 g/cm.sup.3 inclusive, the screw has a nominal diameter of 0.8 mm to 3.5 mm inclusive, and the distance between a neutral position in a longitudinal direction of an effective screw part, which is the portion where the wooden component and a male screw part formed in a shaft part of the screw mesh together, and the surface of the wooden component that comes into contact with the to-be-fastened component is 1 mm to 15 mm inclusive.
SCREW FOR SCREWING INTO PLASTIC
The invention relates to a screw (IO) in order to cut a mating thread in a plastic article, comprising a lower threaded part (F) and an upper threaded part (T), the lower threaded part having a larger diameter and its tip covering a larger surface than the upper threaded part.
HIDDEN FASTENER UNIT AND RELATED METHOD OF USE
A fastener unit and related method for securing a board to a support is provided. The fastener unit includes a spacer block, a grip element extending from the spacer block and configured to fit in and engage a groove of the board, and one or more board engagement elements extending from a portion of the spacer block. The board engagement elements can clamp the board, between an upper and/or lower surface of the board and a groove of the board, thereby securing the spacer block in a position adjacent the groove to establish a gap between the board and another board. Related methods of use also are provided.
Fastener for Attaching Structures to a Tree
A fastener for attaching structures to a tree employs, in an embodiment, a hanger bolt, a protective collet, and a mounting bracket for attaching a support structure to a tree in a way that minimizes damage to the tree. In some embodiments, an extending member adds length to the bolt. The mounting bracket attaches to the bolt. The bracket serves to affix hardware and separate support structures to a tree.
Wood screw and method for producing a wood screw
The invention relates to a wood screw having a screw head having a drive configuration, a screw shank which emanates from the screw head and which at least in portions is provided with a thread, and a drilling tip which adjoins the thread, wherein the drilling tip is configured without a thread, wherein the drilling tip has two longitudinal cutters which continue up to a terminal point of the drilling tip and which run so as to be curved in relation to a central longitudinal axis of the screw, and wherein a circumference of the drilling tip between the two longitudinal cutters does not have any further cutters.
Self-tapping screw
A self-tapping screw (10, 30) comprising a drive (12) and a shank (14) bearing a thread comprising a main thread (16, 32), wherein the main thread (16, 32) has a maximum main thread external diameter (D.sub.AF) and a cutting area (F) and a supporting area (T) following in the direction of the drive (12), wherein the shank (14) has a threaded end (18) at an end opposite the drive (12), with the screw end (18) having a diameter (DE) of at least 20% of the maximum main thread external diameter (D.sub.AF), The shank further has, in the region of the screw end (18), a tap flute (20), wherein the tap flute (20) comprises at least two tapping thread turns (20a, 20b, 20c) which attain, in their external diameter (D.sub.AA), no more than 90% of the maximum main thread external diameter (D.sub.AF) and form a tap region in which the tapping thread turns (20a, 20b, 20c) have the same diameter development, and in addition in that the diameter of the main thread (16, 32) in the tap flute region (AB) is less than or equal to the diameter (D.sub.AA) of the tapping thread turns (20a, 20b, 20c).
Plastic thread element and connection assembly consisting of a plastic carrier part and a plastic thread part
A thread element mode of plastic, a connection assembly consisting of a support part made of plastic into which the thread element made of plastic has been screwed by creating a counter-thread, a method for manufacturing the connection as well as a method for manufacturing the thread element. The thread element is characterized by an axial piece on which the circumferential windings of a thread turn are interrupted by at least two chip flutes. The resulting winding areas form a cutting web and an inhibition web, whereby the cutting web extends radially beyond the inhibition web.
