Self-sealing fasteners and associated building panels, systems, and methods are provided. In one aspect, a fastener includes an elongated fastener body with an external surface extending between the first end and the second end, and a coating material disposed on at least a portion the external surface. In another aspect, a fastener includes an elongated fastener body with an external surface extending between the first end and the second end, and a polymer annulus surrounding at least a portion of the external surface of the of the elongated fastener body at or adjacent the head of the fastener.

DOUBLE THREADED STANDOFF FASTENER

Presently disclosed is a standoff fastener for use in a compound floor structure. The threaded fastener includes a threaded standoff portion designed to accept a nut which has a diameter larger than a head portion of the standoff fastener. The head portion is located centrally within the fastener in order to reduce a tendency of the fastener to pivot within a driver during the fastening process.

Drill point fastener

A fastener may include an elongated shank, a head at a distal end of the shank, and a drill point at a terminal end of the shank, which is opposite to the distal end. The fastener may include a primary thread starting at the drill point and extending along the shank towards the head. The fastener may include a secondary thread starting at the drill point, extending along the shank towards the head, and stopping in an axial direction before the primary thread ends. The secondary thread may be radially located 180 degrees from the primary thread. The drill point may include a plurality of radially extending cutting edges and one or more relieved flute portion extending along the surface of the drill point.

SYSTEMS, DEVICES AND METHODS FOR SECURING NON-LOAD BEARING WALLS

Disclosed are systems, devices and methods used in construction to secure one component, such as a header, to another component, such as a joist, while controlling spacing. Fasteners are used with a removable sleeve member having longitudinal ribs to secure the fastening assembly and prevent movement. An installation guide is provided that facilitates both flush and offset installation.

Thermal wall anchor

A wall anchor for use in a cavity wall includes an elongate body having a driven end portion and a driving end portion. The driven end portion is adapted to be threadedly mounted on the inner wythe of the cavity wall. The elongate body includes a barrel portion adjacent the driven end portion. A first end of the barrel portion is adapted to abut the inner wythe of the cavity wall when installed. A thermal coating is disposed on the first end of the barrel portion. The thermal coating is configured and arranged to reduce thermal transfer in the cavity wall between the elongate body and the inner wythe when installed.

DRY-CONSTRUCTION SCREW

A drywall screw for fastening a plasterboard panel to a metal support is provided, the screw having a head, a tip portion and an elongate shank, wherein the tip portion adjoins the shank, wherein the drywall screw has a widening element for widening the first borehole in the plasterboard panel to a first borehole diameter t and breaking off upon impinging the metal support, wherein the head exceeds the first borehole diameter t with a pressing-in volume V.sub.1, wherein the shank has a thread-free underhead portion which falls below the first borehole diameter t with a receiving volume V.sub.2 which is at least 80% of the pressing-in volume V.sub.1.

Quick fastening screw

A quick fastening screw includes a head, a shank with spirally-disposed thread convolutions, and a drilling portion. Each thread convolution has at least three flank sections and at least three arc sections each formed between any two adjacent flank sections. Two ends of each arc section and the flank sections adjacent to the arc section are respectively intersected to thereby form two joints. Between the two joints is formed a curved cutting portion which forms a radian not more than a quarter of a maximum thread radius so that each curved cutting portion becomes sharp to cut quickly, speed up a screwing operation, decrease the friction between the thread convolutions and a workpiece, and reduce the resistance and torque. The non-circular thread convolutions also receive cut debris efficiently and prevent the cracking of the workpiece caused by the undue accumulation of the debris.

Facade panel screw and fastening arrangement comprising same

A facade panel screw for the optimized fastening of facade panel elements on a substructure has a head with very large diameter D.sub.K, a substantially cylinder cross-sectional shaft, which is at least partially provided with a thread (nominal diameter D.sub.S) and a conical tip comprising a tip angle γ. The thread extends continuously from the shaft to the tip. It is characterizing that the tip angle γ is 45°+/−10°, the thread is embodied at least in a two-threaded manner, the head diameter D.sub.K is embodied at least twice as large as the nominal diameter D.sub.S; and the facade panel screw does not have a drill tip. Such a facade panel screw is used in a fastening arrangement, which comprises a load-bearing component (substructure) and a facade panel. Due to its design, the facade panel screw is able to simplify the fastening of the facade panel and to at least partially correct an inclined positioning in response to the installation.

Joining method and joining apparatus

A joining method is a method of joining a plate set composed by a plurality of stacked plate members including a first plate member and a second plate member by using a tapping screw. When the tapping screw is advanced into the plate set while the tapping screw is rotated in a state of applying a pressure onto the plate set so as to form through-holes in the first plate member and the second plate member, a first pressure applied onto the tapping screw is reduced down to a second pressure at the time when the tapping screw penetrates the first plate member.
