BOLT CLAMPING FORCE SENSING WASHER
A bolt clamping force sensing washer includes a sensing washer, connection line assembly, and signal processor. The sensing washer includes a body, sensing component, and bushing. The body has an axial hole that matches outer diameter of a bolt's thread. The circumferential surface of the body has a circumferential groove for receiving the sensing component which measures a deformation signal generated by the body under an axial load. Two end surfaces of the body are perpendicular to the axial hole and each have a loosening-proof structure. The bushing is made of metal or plastic or formed by plastic insulating material casting to enclose the sensing component. The signal processor has a signal amplifier, microprocessor, pairing switch, power circuit unit, signal transmission unit, memory unit, RF antenna and alert unit. The connection line assembly is disposed at the bushing to electrically connect the sensing component and signal processor.
Pressure sensing device with cavity and related methods
A pressure sensing device may include a body configured to distribute a load applied between first and second parts positioned one against the other, and a pressure sensor carried by the body. The pressure sensor may include a support body, and an IC die mounted with the support body and defining a cavity. The IC die may include pressure sensing circuitry responsive to bending associated with the cavity, and an IC interface coupled to the pressure sensing circuitry.
SCREW RELEASE WITH FORCE RELEASE COMPONENT
A screw includes a screw head, a threaded shaft, and a force release component connecting the screw head to the threaded shaft. The force release component releases the screw head from the threaded shaft in response to a specified force. The specified force is substantially along a screw axis in-line with the threaded shaft.
Anchoring Device
A measuring device for a fastening device includes a base body, a sensor unit configured to detect at least one fastening variable, and an interface connected to the sensor unit and configured to provide the detected at least one fastening variable to an external reading device. The interface is electrically connectable to a wireless communication unit or directly connectable to the external reading device.
Resilient fastener washer
A resilient washer has a one-piece washer body. The washer body has a central opening, an upper fastener interfacing section or bowl, a lower structure interfacing section or bowl and a resilient middle portion. The resilient middle portion connects the upper fastener interfacing section or bowl and the lower structure interfacing section or bowl. The resilient middle portion is configured to be locally collapsed when a fastener in the central opening is tightened into a structure. In one embodiment, the upper fastener interfacing section or bowl is annular, wherein the upper fastener interfacing section or bowl has a concavity for holding a head of the fastener. The concavity can be of a hemispherical shape. Preferably, the concavity has a smooth surface to allow polyaxial movement of a fastener.
System for Wireless Retrieval of Measured Component Data
A system for remotely retrieving sensed conditions at one or more building components. The building components are remote or numerous so that a wireless collection of the sensed conditions provides a significant benefit to a builder or building operator. A remote transceiver sends a wireless signal to a building component. The building component includes an onboard transceiver. At least some of the energy from the transmitted wireless signal is received by the onboard transceiver, sent to a storage device, and stored therein. The stored energy is used to operate a sensor for sensing an onboard condition. The onboard condition is then wirelessly transmitted by the onboard transceiver back to the remote transceiver to be displayed.
Looseness Detection Device and Looseness Detection Method
A loosening detection device according to the present embodiment includes multiple washers having holes that allow bolts to pass therethrough, and including metals insulated from each other, a transmission line that electrically connects between the metals and between the metals of the washers, and a transmission line that includes a terminal pair at one end thereof, and that has the other end electrically connected to the metals of the washer. A resonance frequency is measured from the terminal pair to detect loosening of the bolts on the basis of a change in the resonance frequency.

Torque indicating threaded mechanical fastening systems and methods
Threaded mechanical fastening systems and methods are provided that allow the simple deflection of a washer to indicate that a desired minimum torque has been reached or that a desired maximum torque has been exceeded. The method includes providing a threaded connection having a washer, installing the threaded connection so that the washer is supported as a simple beam over a gap, and using an amount of deflection of the washer as a result of torque applied by the threaded connection as an indicator. The torque indicating threaded mechanical fastening system includes a threaded connection and a washer supported as a simple beam over a gap so that the threaded connection, when tightened to a predetermined torque, deflects, in bending, the washer into the gap.
Method of installing a fastener into a surface and a washer for use therewith
A method of installing a fastener into a surface without defacement of the surface utilizes an annular washer of a viscoelastic material placed about the shank of the fastener such that, upon driving the fastener into the surface via a driving tool, the fastener head clamps against the washer to cause it to viscoelastically expand radially outwardly from the fastener shank until the inner opening of the washer expands to approximately the diametric dimension of the enlarged head of the fastener, whereupon the washer can be removed from the fastener. The interposition of the washer between the driving tool and the surface protects the surface against defacement.
