SCREW
20230047308 · 2023-02-16 ·

A screw includes a head having a top face and a conical bottom surface, a shank, and thread convolutions. A chip guiding channel is recessedly formed on the conical bottom surface. On the conical bottom surface are spirally disposed a cutting portion which has a plurality cutting units sequentially arranged in a spiral manner, thereby allowing the chip guiding channel to be surrounded by the cutting units along a spiral track. The spiral arrangement of the cutting units assists the head in cutting fibers of a workpiece which are wound around the head into small chips in a continuous and spiral severing manner to reduce drilling torque and resistance, and the spirally-defined chip guiding channel also facilitates a smooth removal of the chips, thereby allowing the head to fit level with a top surface of the workpiece and increasing a fastening effect.

Bolt extender arrangement

A bolt extender includes a bottom portion defining internal threads and a multi-sided outer surface, an upper shoulder, and a threaded rod projecting upwardly from said upper shoulder.

A fastener system includes a bolt and a retainer. The bolt has a first end and an opposing second end, wherein a recess having a predetermined shape is defined in the first end of the bolt. The retainer includes a first end having a predetermined shape configured to be inserted within the recess in the first end of the bolt and a second end configured to couple about the second end of the bolt. A method of fastening parts together with the fastener system includes inserting the first end of the retainer into the recess of the bolt, deflecting and/or rotating the retainer in a direction to bring the second end of the retainer into proximity with the second end of the bolt, and securing a nut to the bolt.

CLINCH FASTENER

A clinch fastener includes a shaft defining a central axis and a head having an outer periphery cooperating with the shaft. A plurality of ribs disposed under the head to engage a workpiece. The plurality of ribs extending radially outward in a direction from a displacement collar positioned proximate the central axis of the clinch fastener to the outer periphery of the head. Each of the plurality of ribs includes multiple sections forming at least a sidewall and a parametric profile for each rib. The clinch fastener includes a retaining ring cooperating with the shaft and a retaining groove cooperating with the shaft positioned between the displacement collar and retaining ring. The plurality of ribs and displacement collar are configured to radially displace workplace material into the retaining groove and diffuse stress within the workpiece material when the fastener is secured to the workpiece.

CRIMP SECURING STRUCTURE OF BOLT, CRIMP SECURING METHOD FOR CRIMP BOLT, AND CRIMPING DIE

Provided is a crimp securing structure of a bolt in which a crimp bolt 10 having a crimping recess 13 on the upper surface of the head is crimped onto a metal sheet 30. The thickness of a metal material press-fitted into the crimping recess 13 of the crimp bolt is made smaller at the peripheral edge of the crimping recess 13 and is made larger in the center portion thereof. In order to obtain this crimp securing structure, a crimping die 20 in which a stress-relief recess 23 is formed in a center portion of a convex portion is used to prevent the occurrence of excessive local stress in the crimping recess 13.

Wheel Beadlock Design

An improved clamping mechanism to secure a tire between a bead ring and a wheel utilizing a bolt. The bolt has a ball seat that pivots within an enlarged pilot hole in the bead ring as the bolt threads engage in threaded section of the wheel, pulling the bead ring toward the wheel, eventually leveraging off a fulcrum on either the bead ring or wheel against the tire bead bundle and pressing down the tire bead to lock it in place against the wheel. As the bead ring can pivot within the enlarged pilot hole around the bolt, the bolt is not stressed. Further, the wheel comprising a safety bead and non-skid coating on the inner wall of the wheel to prevent the wheel sliding around the wheel.
