Method for sealing a fastener
A method for sealing a fastener employs a mold which provided with an inlet port for molding material. The mold is then positioned over a fastener and the mold is sealed against a structure. A molding material is then injected into the mold. The mold is then removed to leave an in-situ molded cap formed over the fastener and sealed to the structure.

A mounting device for a sub-frame may include a mounting bracket positioned to correspond with a one side penetration opening formed at a front side inside member of the front side member, a reinforce panel provided to an upper surface of the front side inside member, a mounting bolt separated with a bolt part and a head by a flange which is positioned at a center thereof, joined to a circumference of a bolt opening of the mounting bracket through the flange on a state that the bolt part is inserted into the bolt opening of the mounting bracket, and joined on a state that the head is wedged through the penetration opening of the front side inside member to the welding opening of the reinforce panel, and a foam filler foamed by a heat treatment and filled in a space formed by the front side inside member, the mounting bracket, the reinforce panel, and a front side outside member.
METHOD AND APPLICATOR FOR APPLYING SEALANT TO FASTENERS
A liquid sealant applicator system that may include a liquid sealant applicator having a coupling to reversibly connect to a source of liquid sealant, a sidewall extending from the coupling and defining a sealant flow path, a flow restrictor that restricts the sealant flow path to an annular pattern of apertures in the flow restrictor, a porous matrix that fills at least a portion of the sealant flow path downstream of the flow restrictor, a matrix retainer configured to retain the porous matrix within the sealant flow path, and a fastener socket connected to the sidewall and having a distal end configured to be placed over and at least substantially enclose the head of a preselected fastener. The applicator is configured to provide a uniform application of sealant from the source of the liquid sealant to the head of the fastener enclosed by the fastener socket.
MOUNTING DEVICE FOR SUB-FRAME
FASTENER SYSTEM AND ASSEMBLY
A fastener system (9) for fastening a first structure to a second structure, the fastener system (9) includes: (i) a bolt (11) having a countersink bolt head (15), a bolt tip (17), and a threaded male portion (19) extending from the countersink bolt head (15) towards the bolt tip (17), (ii) a nut (13) having a countersink nut head (23), a nut tip (25) and a female shank portion (27) extending from the countersink nut head (23) towards the nut tip (25), wherein the female shank portion (27) includes an inner thread (29) configured for co-operating with the threaded male portion (19) of the bolt (11), and (iii) at least one cavity (33, 35) for a locking material, the at least one cavity (33, 35) is formed in the threaded male portion (19) of the bolt (11) and/or the inner thread of the female shank portion (27) of the nut (13).
SEALANT CONTAINMENT ASSEMBLY, SYSTEM, AND METHOD
A sealant containment assembly is configured to bound at least a portion of a fastener pattern between at least two components, such as components used to form at least a portion of an aircraft. The sealant containment assembly includes at least one sealant containment member that is configured to sealingly engage peripheral portions of components. The sealant containment member(s) is configured to form a sealing chamber around at least a portion of the fastener pattern. Fluid sealant is configured to flow into the sealing chamber and cure to seal fasteners within the fastener pattern that connect the components together.
Nut with injection port for reinforcing bar
A nut for threading onto a reinforcing bar, wherein the nut includes a female thread for threading onto a male thread of the reinforcing bar, wherein the nut includes a port arranged such that, when the nut is in situ on the reinforcing bar the port provides a passage for injection of fluid material to flow into a cavity defined by an external surface of the reinforcing bar and an internal surface of the nut.
Adhesive bonding of beam and node assemblies
An assembly and a method are provided for manufacturing a joined assembly. A method for manufacturing includes fitting together and datuming a beam and a node, wherein at least one of the beam and the node is formed with an aperture, and wherein a cylindrical interface is formed between the beam and node. Further, the method includes advancing a mechanical fastener through the aperture to temporarily hold the beam and the node in an engagement. Also, the method includes injecting a structural adhesive into the cylindrical interface between the beam and the node. The method includes final joining the beam and the node by curing the structural adhesive.
SELF-LOCKING TUNING ASSEMBLY WITH SELF-LOCKING TUNING SCREW
A self-locking tuning assembly includes a tuning screw and a cover plate. The tuning screw includes a head portion and a rod portion.
