Preload Controlled Stud Lockbolt
A fastener including a pin member having a shank portion, a threaded portion having a thread, a lock portion having at least one lock groove, and a pull portion located having at least one pull groove. The threaded portion is adapted to be engaged threadedly with a threaded hole of a workpiece to install the pin member therein. The fastener includes a swage collar adapted to be installed into the at least one lock groove of the lock portion to secure a plurality of workpieces. The pull portion is adapted to break off when the fastener is installed.
SPRING LOAD ADJUSTING METHOD
A linear solenoid valve has a spring member and a spring load adjusting member, which is screwed into a sleeve member of the linear solenoid valve in order to adjust a spring load of the spring member. The sleeve member has a female screw portion and a swaged-claw forming portion is formed at an axial end surface of the female screw portion. Multiple swaging punches are prepared, each of which has a punching tooth portion of a punching portion. A punching area of the punching tooth portion differs from the swaging punch to the swaging punch. One of the multiple swaging punches is selected depending on a press-direction distance between the swaged-claw forming portion and an axial end surface of the adjust screw member. When the press-direction distance is smaller than a predetermined distance range, the swaging punch having a larger punching area for the punching tooth portion is selected, wherein the punching area is larger than a punching area of another swaging punch which is selected when the press-direction distance is larger than the predetermined distance range.
Hammer-operated indentation tool
An indentation tool includes an installation axis, a radially oriented indentation axis, and a defined reserved space for an indentation site of a cylindrically-shaped structure, as well as a base for installing onto the structure, and an elongate punch for indenting it at its indentation site. The reserved space is spaced apart from the installation axis, and has the indentation axis passing through it. The base extends along the installation axis, and is configured for coaxial installation onto the structure, whereby its indentation site occupies the reserved space. The punch is spaced apart from the installation axis, and is supported by the base for movement along the indentation axis between a home position, in which the punch vacates the reserved space, and an indentation position, in which the punch, leading with an indentation tip, reaches into the reserved space to indent the structure at its indentation site.
HIGH SECURITY FASTENER WITH EXTERNAL SHROUD RETAINER
An improved fastener comprising a fastener body orientated about a central axis and having a tool-engaging portion, a threaded fastening portion and a shroud-receiving portion; a shroud concentrically mounted in the shroud-receiving portion to rotate relative to the fastener body under an applied external torque and having an outwardly extending annular shoulder; the shroud-receiving portion comprising an inwardly deformed stop radially overlapping the outwardly extending annular shoulder of the shroud; and the deformed stop of the shroud-receiving portion and the annular shoulder of the shroud forming a shroud-retaining element restraining the shroud from movement in at least a first axial direction along the central axis.
Combined Screw and Rivet
Disclosed is a combination screw and rivet fastener that couples a cover plate to a ratchet head. The fastener is inserted into the ratchet head and then screwed into a hole of the cover plate. Thereafter, the tip of the fastener opposite the fastener head is deformed in a rivet operation.
BRACKET FOR WHEEL SPEED SENSOR, AND WHEEL SPEED SENSOR
The present disclosure provides a bracket for a wheel speed sensor, and a wheel speed sensor, which can be obtained at low cost and can prevent a bolt from loosening. A bracket capable of fixing a wheel speed sensor for detecting a wheel speed to a fixing portion of a vehicle includes: a main body portion made of synthetic resin through which an insertion hole that allows insertion of a bolt that is to be fixed to the fixing portion, and an attachment hole that allows insertion of a wheel speed sensor assembly are formed; and a collapsible portion that is provided along a circumferential direction of the insertion hole on a side opposite to the fixing portion, and that is collapsed in accordance with tightening of the bolt.
HIGH SECURITY FASTENER WITH BUCKLED SHROUD RETAINER
An improved fastener comprising a fastener body having a tool-engaging portion, a threaded fastening portion and a shroud-receiving body portion; a shroud concentrically mounted on the shroud-receiving body portion and having an inner surface facing an outer surface of the shroud-receiving body portion; the inner surface of the shroud comprising an annular groove and the shroud-receiving body portion comprising a substantially arch-shaped axially-buckled radially-extending annular protrusion extending outwardly transverse to the central axis and disposed in the annular groove of the shroud; and the annular protrusion and annular groove of the shroud forming a shroud-retaining element restraining the shroud from movement in at least a first axial direction along the central axis such that the shroud will rotate relative to the fastener body under an applied external torque prior to the fastener body rotating when the fastener is engaged with an external structure at a design installation torque.
HIGH SECURITY FASTENER WITH INTERNAL SHROUD BUCKLED RETAINER
An improved fastener comprising a fastener body orientated about a central axis and having a tool-engaging portion, a threaded fastening portion and a shroud-receiving portion having an inwardly facing annular groove orientated transverse to the central axis; a shroud concentrically mounted on the shroud-receiving portion to rotate relative to the fastener body under an applied external torque and having an axially-buckled radially-extending annular protrusion extending outwardly transverse to the central axis and disposed in the inwardly facing annular groove of the shroud-receiving portion of the body; the axially-buckled radially-extending annular protrusion of the shroud and the annular groove of the shroud-receiving portion of the body forming a shroud-retaining element restraining the shroud from movement in at least a first axial direction along the central axis.
Deforming a portion of a nut threaded on a guide tube end plug to lock the nut to a lower end fitting of a nuclear reactor fuel assembly
An apparatus including a lower end fitting having a top planar surface, a bottom planar surface, a counterbore defined therebetween, an opening extending from the counterbore to the top planar surface, and a lock recess that extends both radially outwardly from the counterbore and extends inwardly into the lower end fitting from the bottom planar surface.
