A torque disc comprising a fixing surface and at least one restraining element. The fixing surface defines an area of the torque disc for attachment to a fastener in use, and the at least one restraining element extends from the fixing surface so as to engage in use with at least one portion of the fastener to restrain rotational movement of the fastener during attachment to or detachment from the torque disc.

WHEEL RETENTION SYSTEM

An anti loosening arrangement doer wheel nuts which uses wheel rim with a plurality of studs having external threads to receive fastening nuts, a wheel nut with an internal thread adapted to be secured to said studs a connector adapted to be attached to and connect adjacent nuts said connector including a mechanism to prevent rotation of the nuts. This arrangement does not require a custom stud. In some preferred mechanisms custom nuts may be needed but in other preferred embodiments conventional nuts may be used. The connector prevents rotation of the nuts and so inhibits loosening. The connector is easily seen and is an indication that the wheel nuts are unable to be loosened.

Pin lock fasteners

A pin lock fastener comprises a fastener component (e.g., bolt or nut) having an aperture formed through an outer surface of the fastener component, and a pin supported by the fastener component and slidable through the aperture. The pin can comprise a locking end portion to interface/lock with a pin lock feature of a fastener receiver structure. The pin lock fastener can comprise an actuator cap rotatably coupled to the fastener component, and a torsion spring can have a first end coupled to the fastener component and a second end coupled to the actuator cap. The pin can be secured to the torsion spring that applies a biasing force to the pin in a normal locked position to restrict rotation of the fastener component relative to the fastener receiver structure secured to the fastener component. The pin lock fastener can be repeatedly used. Associated fastened assemblies and methods are provided.

Reciprocating Pump Packing Nut Assembly

A reciprocating pump assembly that includes a power end, first and second stay rods coupled to the power end, and a fluid end that includes a mounting flange coupled to the first and second stay rods and a packing nut assembly. The packing nut assembly includes a packing nut threadably engaged with the mounting flange and comprising a gear pattern, and a retention assembly that includes a collar, an alignment arm, a pawl, and a biasing assembly. The collar extends around the first stay rod. The alignment arm is coupled to the collar and shaped to contact the second stay rod. The pawl is pivotally coupled to the alignment arm or the collar and positioned to engage the gear pattern to allow the packing nut thread into the mounting flange and prevent the packing nut from unthreading. The biasing assembly biases the pawl into engagement with the gear pattern.

KEY DEVICE FOR HOLDING A NUT RETAINER
20170297181 · 2017-10-19 ·

The invention concerns a key device intended to hold a nut retainer in the radial position, when tightening the nut on an associated screw connection, characterised in that it comprises a handle (54) and a head (52) comprising a housing (56) into which a tab of the nut retainer is inserted, said tab being intended to be folded 90° on a body carrying the screw connection, after tightening of the nut, one face (58) of the head having geometry that matches a portion of the body carrying the screw connection that receives the nut, such that the tab of the nut retainer, inserted into the head of the key, is held exactly perpendicular to the outer surface of said portion of the body when the nut is tightened.

Systems and methods for centering bearing compartments

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for dressing centering a bearing compartment in a gas turbine engine. A nut may be inserted through an outer case of a gas turbine engine. The nut may be coupled to a strut which centers a bearing compartment. The nut may be rotated to achieve a desired tension on the strut to center the bearing compartment. A retaining plate comprising a collar may be positioned over the nut. A swaging tool comprising a swaging ramp may be positioned over the nut. The swaging tool may be forced against the retaining plate using a draw-in bolt. The swaging ramp may contact the collar and form indentations in the collar to lock the nut in place.

Fastener systems for wood with overtightening and loosening prevention

A replacement for cylindrical dowel nuts is provided and is a hollow cylindrical nut with a threaded hole on top and an unthreaded hole at the bottom which is for the threaded shank to enter. This hollow dowel nut elastically compresses during tightening to act like a lock-washer to prevent loosening. Several solutions are provided to make the top of the nut thicker to fit more thread coils than what wall thickness would otherwise permit. To improve loosening prevention further and also provide overtightening prevention a hollow nut with flatter bottom and a narrow gap bisecting the lower hole are used which during tightening cause right and left edges of said gap to be pushed towards the bolt strongly gripping it which prevents overtightening and loosening. “C” shaped nuts also provided which cause misalignment and jamming in the thread when compressed thereby also preventing loosening and overtightening.
