Assembly and method for securing a fastening element

The invention relates to an assembly for securing a fastening element to a first component, wherein the first component has a passage opening for a shaft of the fastening element, said assembly comprising a securing element, which reaches around the shaft of the fastening element, wherein a head part of the fastening element and the securing element are arranged on opposite sides of the first component and the shaft of the fastening element engages in a receptacle of a second component for the frictional and/or interlocking connection of the two components. According to the invention, the securing element is pre-fastened to the second component before a first connection of the first component to the second component and is separated from the second component and reaches around the shaft of the fastening element after a first release of the connection between the first component and the second component.

CAST-IN PLACE ANCHOR WITH LOCKABLE JAW ASSEMBLY

An anchor assembly is disclosed for suspending objects to a concrete structure. The assembly includes an anchor housing having a jaw assembly therein and a opening for receiving an anchor member such as a threaded rod. The jaw assembly includes threaded rods having a threaded opening, a wood form anchor assembly and a metal decking anchor assembly. The wood form and the metal decking anchor assemblies may accommodate the anchor housing and the anchor housing is used in one of the wood form anchor assembly and the metal decking anchor assembly. The metal decking anchor assembly includes a nose-piece and the anchor housing is selectively connectable to the nose-piece via a locking connection such as a bayonet connection.

A channel having a base portion, an open central region, and an integral pair of sidewalls. The integral pair of sidewalls having an upper portion of each sidewall that includes an inward-facing downturned internal flange and an outward-facing upturned external flange.

Fastening arrangement

A fastening arrangement for fastening at least two components together may be utilized in a motor vehicle. The fastening arrangement may include a plurality of screw-on brackets provided on a first component, and a number of retaining pegs provided on a second component. The screw-on brackets may include a through hole that may receive a respective projection of the number of retaining pegs when the first component and the second component are assembled with one another. At least one retaining pegs may include a cover plate that may facilitate receiving an associated screw-on bracket laterally and clip the screw-on bracket between the at least one retaining peg and the cover plate. A screw-in peg having a screw-in opening may be disposed on the second component. A hold-down may be securable to the screw-in peg to secure an associated screw-on bracket and an associated retaining peg.

Adjustable slide knob with safety lock

The presently disclosed adjustable slide knob addresses the Backing-Off problem present with various conventional nuts. The adjustable slide knobs can be quickly positioned along a threaded rod by applying pressure to an exposed surface of a partially threaded nut. When the knob is placed against a work surface and the user releases pressure from the partially threaded nut, the thread pattern on the partially threaded nut meshes with the matching thread pattern on the threaded rod. The device can then be twisted, which will translate the device along the threaded rod, to apply a larger load to the work surface. The threaded rod may include one or more key-ways shaped to allow a locking tab housed within the knob to stop the device from freely disengaging the threaded rod to protect a user from potential injury caused by the fastener unexpectedly backing off and disengaging.

A rail attachment for supporting a support rail includes two rail brackets engaging with and securing the support rail therebetween, a connector securing the two rail brackets to one another and including an attachment unit suspending the rail brackets and support rail, each the rail bracket including a support section engaging and secured to the support rail and each bracket further including a first connection section extending over the support rail, an intermediate region and a distal region whereby the distal region is spaced from the support section by the intermediate section and wherein the distal region is of a greater length than the intermediate region as considered in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the intermediate region spaces the distal region from the support section, and the connector including a second connection section securing the distal regions of the rail engagement brackets relative to one another.

Connector

A connector for attachment of two frame elements in a framing system has a connector body of similar rectangular section to the frame elements. A flat inner engagement face of the connector body engages with a flat end face of a first frame element, and essentially forms an extension of the first frame element. An outer engagement face of the connector body is substantially parallel to the inner engagement face and in use abuts against a flat side wall of a second frame element. The outer engagement face has two outwardly projecting lips along opposite side edges of the connector body at the outer face. Each lip has a curved inner face for engagement with opposed radiused edges at opposite sides of the flat side wall face of the second frame element. A flat outer face of the lip forms an extension of a side wall of the connector body and provides a smooth transition between adjacent side walls of the two frame elements. Thus, advantageously, there is no groove forming a dirt trap between the two frame elements when they are interconnected.
